The Sand Dollar is NOT Granny's Condo, remodeled South Beach Style comfort!!
Welcome to the Sand Dollar!! New hurricane rated windows that block out any noise, fixtures, furniture, finishes and appliances make this a one of a kind vacation home. The designer thought of everything for your stay. The floors were totally replaced with large marble tiles. A brand new central air conditioning system was installed and the bathroom and kitchen fixtures were all replaced. The beds, toilet, sinks, chairs, sofa, tables, and linens are all New!!! The kitchen appliances are all stainless steel and everything from the cutlery to the cookware are perfect for cooking in if you prefer not to eat out at the many nearby restaurants. We have everything you need to cook for your group!
In the bedrooms, you will find plenty of storage and very comfortable bedding. Lighting has been totally replaced with modern fixtures. The South Beach Chic design resonates throughout this space, from the white leather folding sofa to the stainless dining table with high top chairs.
Walk out the door, down one flight of stairs and out onto the beach!

About SunCoast Beach Vacation Rentals
We are a family of four who live in St. Petersburg and love boating, fishing and spending time on the beach. We live only 20 minutes away from the condo and we frequent Treasure Island Beach and the many restaurants between Treasure Island and Pass-a-Grille, just South of Treasure Island. We have two small children and time at the beach and on the water is a great way to spend time with them. Our close proximity also means that we can more promptly help you in the unlikely event that you find anything unsatisfactory about your stay.

What makes this Condo unique
As we walked into the inner courtyard of Tropic Terrace we immediately knew that this place was maintained like no other. Everything sparkled from the fresh paint everywhere to the tidy landscaping to the perfectly cleaned pool. We've spent a lot of time there while the renovations were being done on our unit and Tropic Terrace is always beautiful.

Love this place!
I booked this room for a 5 day stay. The place was beautiful just like the pictures. It was a quaint little old Florida Motel. Very clean and great atmosphere. We loved it there was plenty of room and I would recommend it to anyone coming to the Treasure Island area. We will definitely be back!

Nice stay at Treasure Island
Had a nice stay with perfect weather! Unit is nicely updated and more roomy than it looks in pics. Bathroom is definitely small, but not a huge issue. We did have some issues with water pressure in kitchen sink and hot/cold issues with faucets in both kitchen and bathroom sink. Not a huge deal, but difficult to wash baby bottles in the sink. Tons of kitchen essentials to cook full meals. We had 2 little ones and it is a bit of a hike to the ocean in that stretch of beach. Not a complaint just an FYI that families with littles may want to bring/rent stroller or wagon because not a quick trip if you forget something. Overall, nice comfortable stay.
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay!! After reading your comments about the faucet we had a plumber come and investigate the buildings water supply, our supply lines etc. and were finally able to determine that the mixing chamber in the faucet itself had become corroded (salt air does that;) and after replacing the kitchen faucet we now have full water pressure. I am so sorry for any inconvenience, the problem has been resolved and we hope to host your family again!!

Overall, An Okay Unit
The Ocean Terrace property is a nice property right on the boardwalk and beach. The courtyard area was tended to nicely, with a selection of beautifully-manicured plants. We did not use the recreation room, but did observe couples having cocktail hour in a lounge area inside. Parking is a little tight, when the lot is full, due to the symmetry of the parking lot and spaces. Regarding the unit, please see below.
1. Unit is updated nicely and has a nice floorplan
2. Having cookware, dishware, glassware available was appreciated.
3. Master bed was comfortable.
4. Having beach towels provided was appreciated.
1. Dishwasher does not clean well, leaving a white film on dishes; we handwashed most of the dishes.
2. Kitchen sink has very low water pressure
3. In person, bathroom is very small, with sink area really small
4. Ice maker leaks water into the ice tray when making ice. This causes the cubes to stick together in a single ice sheet. We had to buy store ice.
Please note this unit is in the very front of the building (streetside). With our infant, noise from motorcycles and emergency vehicles was a small issue.
First of all, I truly wish you would have communicated the issues you where having while you were on property rather than waiting until you left so we would have addressed them immediately. I personally inspected the unit a few days before you checked in and was very happy with how meticulously clean the crew left the property, and I spent some extra time personally scrubbing scuff marks (it happens) etc from the front door and checking all the cabinet fronts etc. There were no dead insects at that time. We pay a pest control company to spray monthly, and unfortunately sometimes that results is a dead insect when no one is there to remove it. I am having a plumber come out to check ice maker and dishwasher, which have never had a problem in the past.
Secondly, If I had know, I could have let you know that there is a free ice machine for guest use in the rec room that you mention you never entered. I checked the water pressure in the kitchen personally after your stay and did not see any problems with it. We have all new double paned windows and have never in five years received a complaint about noise, but I understand that some children are very light sleepers. If I had been notified I would have let you know that there is a noise machine in the closet for those guests/children who like to have one. We strive very hard to keep our unit in pristine condition, but we do have to be made aware of issues in order to address them for our guests.
Quiet little charmer
Our condo was tucked away in a nicely redone this old 50s Florida hotel. The unit is well decorated and offers a lot of light. The gardens around the pool are charming and colorful and laundry/entertainment room are convenient.
The walk out to the beautiful beach was easy - it was a perfect spot for getaway!
The heated pool is fabulous! This beachfront property is a vintage, mid-century gem that has been restored to keep its original charm while offering guests a modern vacation. The area has everything from motorboat, bicycle, kayak, and scooter rentals to casual and fine dining all within walking distance of our unit! On property, one can play shuffleboard, grill out, picnic at one of several beachfront dining tables, swim in the pool, or just relax on the beach to the soft sound of the waves.
