About Rick Dineley

We currently live just a few hundred yards down the private road this property is located on, so we are not far if you need anything.

Rick Dineley purchased this house in 2012

Why Rick Dineley chose Waitsfield

I came to VT back in 1982 from the city thinking I would get a year of skiing in and go back to the city. I never went back and can not say enough about the quality of life in the Mad River Valley

What makes this house unique

This house was recently purchased in October 2012. I have been driving by this property for the past 25 years admiring it and its beautiful yard and landscape. When I finally had a chance to buy it, there was no hesitation. You will get the same feeling about the place when you rent and stay.

Perfect ski house

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful setting and deck. Perfect accommodations for 8 people with four bedrooms and four baths. Very dated decorating and carpeting. Did not really matter because we had fun.

Room for Everybody

  • 4 of 5

Four of us & three companions came to VT to race the Green Mountain Stage Race (bikes). Plenty of bedrooms and beds plus each of the 4 bedrooms had their own bathroom. Great! Lots of room in the house for relaxing after a hard day in the saddle. The location was convenient to the event, to the town and to the ski areas. The house's outside grounds were beautiful and in perfect condition. The one drawback to the house was a rather dated kitchen layout where the cabinets blocked the view to the dining room forcing those in kitchen/dining room to bend over to hold a conversation. If the owner's war chest grows enough, may we suggest redoing the kitchen with an open design? Kitchen redesign or no, families & friends will enjoy their stay.

Great property for large groups

  • 5 of 5

this is a lovely house in beautiful Vermont. We have stayed here a total of 4 times in the last few years as we had a student at Norwich University. While visiting him we also had mini family reunions with our "East Coast" cousins. The kitchen is good for preparing meals, the house has 4 bedrooms and 4 ensuite bathrooms which makes it very nice! The downstairs boasts a beautiful working fireplace, TV, laundry and pool table.

Positives: great for large groups of people, convenient to Stowe, Waitsfield, Waterbury, and surrounding areas of Vermont including Northfield.

Cons: Kitchen slightly dated, carpets slightly worn, and there are stairs!

I would recommend this property as a wonderful house for adventures in this part of Vermont, whether leaf peeping, skiing or just enjoying the area.

Scrupulously clean and comfortable in Vermont

  • 5 of 5

The property is in a beautiful section of Vermont and is spacious and scrupulously clean. The 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms is indeed a luxury for large families like ours staying together for a few days! The kitchen is a real, working kitchen with full sized refrigerator and electric range. Although appliances are somewhat dated, they all work (and that is the point, isn't it?). Views from every room, comfortable beds, and a lovely yard and deck. All in all, a great vacation getaway.

We had a great time for 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

Our whole family had a terrific time at this house. Rick was terrific and answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was perfect for our family of 5 plus grandparents and 2 dogs. The yard was perfect for volleyball, playing tag and chasing the dogs! Friends came over for dinner and we didn't feel cramped at all. The deck was a favorite place to read a book or enjoy a cold beverage. The location was perfect - close enough to everything but private enough that we didn't hear anyone. We loved walking down The Common Road and seeing the cows at the Van Trapp farm.

The house is very unique with 4 bedrooms each with their own ensuite bathroom. Large family room / pool table, kitchen is very usable and has a nice large table plus the deck right off the kitchen. The bedrooms were perfect for our group and everyone had plenty of space. We definately could have had more. There are a lot of stairs in the house, so if you have very young children or older people who have trouble with stairs, this may not be the right place for you - but other than that - it was perfect.

Beautiful, Quiet, aned Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This property is located just outside the village of Waitsfield Vermont. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and the surrounding tree line offers quiet privacy. The interior of the house is comfortable and clean. The beds were just right. Each bed room has its own bath and shower. There's a full kitchen and dining room, and a deck with a barbecue grill just outside of the kitchen. The living room has a huge fireplace, that gave us both warmth and comfort on a couple of chilly autumn nights. The property and the house were accurately represented on the VRBO listing, and the place was immaculately clean! Waitsfield offers a few new england type curio shops, a "general store", a cute little restaurant, a convenience store / gasoline station, and just down the road theres a movie theater with a little country restaurant built into the same building. A little further out on Rt 100 there's a shopping center with a grocery store for those who wish to cook in. So, in that sense the location is very convenient. What's more the views of the valley, and surrounding mountains on East Warren Road are breathtaking! We HIGHLY recomend this property. Especially good for families.
