About Stu Laurie
We love holidays and exploring different countries. After our first trip to Montenegro in 2006 we fell in love with the country and have always made time to visit and see friend we have made there. We decided to buy our property in 2007 and have let it out since 2009.
Stu Laurie purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Stu Laurie chose Bečići
Thank you for taking the time to look at our apartment. We hope it will provide you with all the information you need. In our search for a holiday home overseas, we came across Montenegro as an emerging holiday destination. We were amazed by the natural beauty of this small country. Montenegro offered us a wonderful climate, mountain scenery, excellent beaches and much more. We chose to buy in Becici because it has a wonderful beach, it is also in walking distance to the resorts of Rafalovici, Kamenova and Budva. Przno and Sveti Stefan are a short bus ride away. Becici has good amenities for a self catering holiday. We really enjoy going to our holiday home. We like the comfort of our apartment and the lovely views and the convenience of a nice pool. We enjoy meeting with the friendly local people and we love the fantastic walks up into the hills and along the coast The beach has a relaxed atmosphere with traditional cafes and restaurants. A great benefit for us as a family is being able to walk to the beach for a swim. We have a well established local agent and team who will cater for the needs of our visitors. We want to share our fantastic holiday home by the sea with the hope that our visitors will enjoy it as much as we do. Guestbook comments from the owner. We love the relaxed feel of the country, the people and the beautiful natural scenery. The combination of sea and mountains is spectacular.

The apartment and facilities were exactly as shown and detailed in the photos and describritions.
We had a wonderful week. The apartment was extremely comfortable for my husband and I, and our 2 children, there was plenty of wardrobe space and room to store our suitcases. The welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated. The view is spectacular.
The management staff at the complex were on hand if we had any issues, and spoke very good English.
We used the pool everyday, which we all loved, there was always sun beds and parasols available.
We got everything we needed for lunches from the nearby shop and eat out in the evenings.
We found lovely restaurants in nearby Becici, but the hill does require a certain level of fitness!! We also got taxis to Budva, which was particularly lovely in the old town.
There were lots of places we didn't explore, as it was very hot and the kids were happy by the pool. We went to Budva Aquapark which was good fun.
The communication with Stuart prior to our visit was excellent, he arranged a taxi from the airport for us, it couldn't have been easier. My only suggestion, is information in the apartment, giving instructions on how the hot water in the bathroom and kitchen work. Also instruction and directions locally would have been useful, he had sent these as messages, which I had fortunately saved as the wifi was very intermittent!
It also said on the website that pool towels were included, however there were only indoor towels, we had taken our own and I'm sure if we had asked they would have given us some.
I would definitely recommend Becici Sunset to friends and family, my in laws booked soon after us and are going in September, I'm sure they'll love it too.
Thanks very much Hannah for taking the time to write this review.
We are very pleased you enjoyed the apartment and had a great holiday. I wish you had asked Nebojsa for the beach towels, he would have been very apologetic for the oversight. The hot water switches should have been highlighted to you, but I will ensure there are written explanations for them in time for next year.
value for money
The apartment and pool area are excellent. Comfy beds and well equipted kitchen. We enjoyed our stay here.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are very pleased you had a nice at the apartment and in Montenegro.
Just had a great week in Montenegro. It was early in the season so the beach activities were not up and running. We went to Montenegro to explore and do some walking. It was brilliant and we only just scratched the surface.
We did a good hike from Kotor to Krstac with some awesome views. Also spent 2 days at Kolasin where we hiked to the summit of Troglava at 2075m.
We had a couple of lovely meals out, one was at restaurant Porat (I think) in Rafailavici.
The apartment was lovely, well equipped and views from the balcony were special.
Will definitely visit again.
Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review. April is early for beach activities, but as you say the walking is brilliant. Elaine and I are keen walkers and have done quite a bit of exploring along the coast and inland at Lovcen and Bjelasica national park (Kolasin).
Glad you liked the apartment, and if you do go back to Montenegro get in touch.

Lovely apartment with great views, very clean, safe and comfortable great place for a holiday. Local shop nearby which was also convenient.
Thanks very much for your review. Elaine and I are really pleased you enjoyed the apartment and Montenegro.
Nice apartment, lovely views
We have recently enjoyed a lovely holiday based at this apartment. It is well maintained and equipped and has lovely views from the balcony which overlooks the pool. Our 13 year old daughter spent lots of time in the pool and we usually managed to bag a sunbed or 2. I agree that the maps supplied aren't particularly good but Stuart's written directions are much more helpful which we used without a problem. Regarding the length/size of bunk beds in 2nd bedroom, we also have a tall 13 year old and she did not complain nor did she seem too big for them - but she has a single bed at home! The books and DVD's in the apartment were a nice touch too as were the beach towels supplied - left extra room in our luggage. Staff on site very helpful. I would highly recommend hiring a car to see the rest of Montenegro which is beautiful. We visited Kotor where we went on a boat trip and the Mausoleum where the views are breathtaking - best trip of the holiday. Watch out though as driving in Montenegro can be scary both the windy roads and local drivers!
All in all a wonderful holiday - thank you Stuart and Elaine
Thanks very much for the review Tracy. We are really pleased you and your family had a great time in Montenegro and the apartment. It sounds like you made the most of your time there with trips out to explore. I agree it is nice to have a car as there is so much more to Montenegro than just the beaches, lovely as they are.
Reasonable priced but decent property
We were impressed by the reasonable price of this property and the location within Becici, close to Budva, so those were two of the main reasons we booked it. The apartment is tricky to find if you rely on Google Maps as it will send you to the nearby Ivanova building which is totally unrelated and the map system accessible via the HomeAway app is rubbish frankly. The building is opposite the Becici Spa Hotel and the entrance is about 50m down the hill from that, with the reception accessed through a little door in the car park beneath the pool, which it should be clearer about in the booking details and on the app. Nonetheless after some issues finding the place we were pleased enough with the apartment itself. It is modest but perfectly well equipped, with good aircon, a decent kitchen, a nice balcony and a decent pool. The staff there were friendly and helpful as well. Downsides would be the very small shower and the length of the bunk beds in the second room which our 13 year old only just fit in, so bear that in mind. She's 5ft 5 though so perhaps she is just too tall these days. The apartment is a short downhill walk to the beach and a horrendous uphill slog back but that's the area frankly as it is really hilly. Budva is a short drive or taxi journey away but too far too walk really unless you don't mind a long hot walk. Overall we were very happy with the apartment and feel it is good value for money. We would recommend to others as long as you are not looking for a particularly polished place to stay.
Thank you for taking the time to review our apartment.
Sorry you had trouble finding the property but we do not recommend our visitors use 'google maps'. The Google map on the website indicates where the apartment is in relation to Becici and Budva. We point all our guests to the accurate maps to download and directions from Tivat, Podgorica, and Dubrovnik airports within the 'Hospitality' section on the Homeaway website, along with information about where to find the reception area below the pool.
It is a steep walk back up from the beach, but I suppose that is what gives us lovely views.
I am pleased you mentioned the staff being friendly and helpful as I know they work really hard keeping the place clean and helping visitors.

Montenegro offers magnificent unspoilt scenery, clean safe beaches, secluded bays, waterside restaurants, bars and cafes and a variety of water sports. A short drive, or walk on the sea front to Budva - an historical, beautiful walled town with modern shops, restaurants and night life. Kotor, Skadar lake and Lovcen national park are a short drive away. You can explore stunning inland scenery, visit ancient fortresses and monasteries or just chill by the pool. All you need for a great family holiday.
