About Tom Griffin
Kelly and Tom Griffin live in Richmond, VA with our 2 daughters, 5 and 8. Tom's a huge lover of surf fishing, and we are both life-long OBX fans....and this is our little dream cottage -- welcome!
Tom Griffin purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Tom Griffin chose Nags Head
We purchased the cottage in 2012 from Matthew Norman, a renowned local artist who actually ran his art studio from this very cottage. We fell in love with it instantly, and the cottage is decorated with many original works done by the former owner.
What makes this Cottage unique
Old Nags Head charm, 100 paces to beach, surf fishing, hot tub, outdoor shower, pet-friendly, fenced-in backyard with grass and landscaping, covered front sitting porch, and 8 doors down from Tortuga's restaurant!

Sweet Cozy Cottage
The back yard is the deal breaker here if you have dogs! Perfect location with easy beach access. House is well equipped and easily accommodated our family for Christmas dinner cooking. Bedrooms are far apart for those who like to sleep in and comfy beds! Would love to enjoy the front porch in the warmer months!
Fun fun fun
Clean, had all we needed, great convenient location, great for kids and dogs too!!
Wonderful historic home with great location and amazing backyard.
This historic home was cozy and charming. The location was perfect, central and close to the beach. The house was very clean and served our family of five plus a dog very well. The backyard was wonderful - great outdoor living with a hot tub, hammock, and picnic table. The owners were kind and responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay there again.
Perfect spot for restaurants and beach access. The fire works on shot off of nags Head fishing pier so perfect spot to watch them from the front porch. The backyard was great. The only downside is the uncomfortable beds, but I think that every where I stay. Definitely coming back!
The Greatest little Home Away from Home
It was perfect the home owner made sure everything was just right. Will rent again. Ty Tom
Perfect place for us! Took our two dogs and my mother and had a blast. Everything is in a short walking distance, and we loved the home and fenced in yard for the pups. The owners were very cooperative. I can't wait to come back to the Fishin Griffin. Be sure and check out the artwork at the house...gorgeous!
We front the beach road in the historic section of old Nags Head. Our cottage and many of the others are 75+ years old, so this area will provide the 'old school' beach experience! We are only 100 yards from 2 beach access points. And Tortuga's Lie, the best and most fun restaurant in the OBX, is only 6 doors away! The Nags Head Pier is a quarter mile away and the Lucky Tavern is a great sports bar that's only 250 yards away from cottage. This area is also in the area known as the Nags Head Gallery Row Arts District with several galleries within 2 miles of our cottage. Of course, the 'bypass' is only 4 streets over and offers every shopping, eating, and recreational imaginable for you and your family.
