About Ron Bevil

My wife and I both came to Durango area in December, 1999. I grew up and spent most of my life in Chicago, but always had dreams of retiring in Colorado. Katya moved to Durango from Saint Petersburg, Russia. It took us just about 7 years to finally meet, fall in love, and settle in together at this beautiful mountain lake. We have moved from the lake to Durango. Our favorite place to go for food or drink is Pura Vida Café which is about a half a mile from the cabins.

Ron Bevil purchased this house in 2013

Why Ron Bevil chose Bayfield

I decided to manage these cabins because of their unique lakefront location, the amazing craftsmanship found throughout all 3 cabins' interior and exterior features.

What makes this house unique

These are truly special and rare lakefront cabins at Vallecito Lake.

The views from this large cabin are beautiful! The fireplace was lovely!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is large and fit our family of 12 easily, the view of the lake is beautiful, the large fireplace lovely, and the couch and family table were great. The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond. The cabin itself is in need of attention. The carpet was quite dirty and stained, the towels were clean, but limited and old. Extra blankets downstairs were handy, but had old mouse droppings on them. Considering the overall cost for the 2 night stay, ($1,004!!)I was expecting something nicer.

Gorgeous cabin with spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

We were thrilled with the cabin and accommodationshe. Although there really isn't a place to swim there, just drive a few miles towards the river and there you have it. Our biggest complaint was the WiFi. You cannot count on it and the signal is weak. Maybe they do that on purpose, but would've been good to know..

great lake house

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exceptionally clean, plenty of bedrooms, and beds for sleeping, had a great cabin feel to it with the decor. Plenty of living and sitting areas to accommodate a large group. Washer and dryer was a plus. fireplace inside and fire pit outside was fun to have. Full kitchen and Grill with all the accessories to make dinners. Lake was easy to access. Several towns near by for shopping and eating. Ron is near by to assist with anything you might need. Our family loved it, and had a GREAT time!!

Better than expected

  • 4 of 5

Very nice, more than enough room for our family of 10 and Ron was a great help and very resourceful. Only issue was that there was no a/c as advertised so got a little warm especially upstairs. Also the marina was closed down so no place to rent a boat.

Great house, great location and great caretaker!

  • 5 of 5

I had a ladies weekend here and the house was absolutely perfect. Very clean and comfortable. The location couldn't be better - 1/2 mile from the marina and Pura Vida and a short walk from the house to the lake shore. Ron was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed including some lake toys. We showed up a little early just to drop off some perishables and even the cleaning crew was warm and friendly. We will will definitely be back!

A great time on Lake Vallecito

  • 5 of 5

We had 13 people in this cabin by the lake and it was perfect. Two story with a basement included three bathrooms and full size kitchen. This place is plush, not a rundown cabin. Perfect place for a family getaway. The lake is about a three minute walk away. There is a marina within a five minute drive with boat rentals daily. So many activities in the immediate area and Durango is only about 40 minutes away. I recommend this cabin to any and every one. This place is amazing.
