About Laura or Scott

We are both from southern Mn. Have enjoyed living in Southern MN area are whole life. We have 2 children, they have blessed us with 2 wonderful grandchildren. Scott loves the outdoors & golf. You can find me in a quaint shop or antique store. We both love walking & hiking & are really looking forward to spending more time in Maggie.

Laura or Scott purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Laura or Scott chose Smoky Mountains

We have some very special friends that introduced us to this wonderful town. First time there we were hooked. Started looking in 2011, when we found this diamond in the rough. We love how it is big enough to enjoy, but small enough not to be all work.

Enjoy Our Playhouse.

Our cabins are named after our grand children, The Smokey Mountain Playhouse (450776) is named for our grand-daughter Izzy. Smokey Mountain Toy Box (508560) is named after our grand-son Jaxon. They both love coming to the "mountain" with us.

What makes this cabin unique

The town's people! Love how everyone is so friendly. Everyone has a story to share. Really was impressed when we went to a local restaurant then couple nights later returned and were greeted by our first names. Small town living with big city connections only a few miles away.

We knew we were home!

Outstanding property for a couple or golf foursome. The owners have thought out what people might need and have it there. Very responsive to questions and requests. The area has plenty to do and see. We enjoyed golf at Maggie Valley CC. All in all an experience we would like to repeat in the future. Bobalou

Mountain time = Wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

Where were we when the lights went out? Well after finding the flashlights that are so thoughtfully placed around the house. Then reading the instructions (again)that Scott and Laura had sent prior to the trip and called the electric company, my gal pal and I were on Mountain Time and did not have a worry on our minds.

This "Home Away" was a fantastic choice to spend a few days, well actually 5 days, away from the daily grind called work and life. The bed in the upstairs room was very comfortable and I can only assume that the bed downstairs was just as comfortable. The view is definitely worth a 1000 words at least, but who needs words while looking at this view.

Maggie Valley has some interesting shops and places to eat and Asheville was a short drive with just the same.

Scott and Laura thought of everything. The kitchen is fully stocked with crock pots (2 of them), BBQ tools, a George Forman Grill just to name a few. The living room has a bowl that is filled with travel flyers from various places (yup I added a few also).

The price is good. Where else can you have this, a hot t

tub and a view. Certainly not in a hotel with a lot less space and not nearly as many amenities.

Thanks again for opening this home. Keep up the great work.

From a "Beth" who did not want to give up mountain time.

Owner's Response: Life on mountain time is the best way to spend some down time. 1000 words could tell the story of the view, peacefulness and relaxing experience of the enjoying the deck, but nothing like being in the rocker, sipping coffee and taking it all in yourself. The Playhouse is conveniently located to so many attractions. Glad you were able to take in several of them while calling the Playhouse "home". We will look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you and enjoy your Fall! Laura and Scott
