About Richard

I have been an active outdoors person all my life. I enjoy gardening, hikes, animal watching and many more outdoor activities.

Richard purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Richard chose Traverse City

This property is one of the best in the area with many outdoor activities. Close to Traverse City and many tourist hot spots it can't be beat!

What makes this cottage unique

I purchased this vacant property in 2005 and camped on it for 2 years on and off to get a feel for the land before I built on it. I believe the location of the cottage and its surrounding land makes it a great vacation spot for all.

Superior Host, Superior Setting

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Richard for a wonderful vacation. The home is beautiful and has all the amenities you could possibly need. I loved the detail of the word work in the home, the quiet location, the hospitality of the host, and the close proximity to both Interlochen and Traverse City. I'll be back next year!

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Lovely clean home.

  • 5 of 5

My work girlfriends and I went for three nights. There was plenty of room, the home was very clean and comfortable. There is a steam feature in the main bath room and it's amazing! The house is off the beaten path, and you have to work at it to see a neighboring house even! The fire pit is next to the lovely clean river and a sweet little creek with little waterfalls that runs into the river right next to the fire pit.

The deck off the dining area (incredibly gorgeous table) looks out over the river and is a great spot to have your morning coffee and get some sun! We'd go back in a heartbeat and I'd love to bring my family there too. Richard the owner is friendly and pleasant, he stopped by the first day. Had some helpful tips, made himself availiable by cell phone if needed. Only about 10 minutes out side Traverse City. Go, you won't regret it!!

Very secluded, beautiful and clean!

  • 5 of 5

It was easy to find with google maps. It’s very secluded in a bush overlooking a stream you can kayak/canoe in. Richard was very accommodating with our arrival time and gave us a quick tour of the place. The house was clean and remains pretty new.

I would totally recommend this place to friends! Traverse resort golf courses were very much enjoyed!

Located on the beautiful Boardman River just min. away from historic downtown Traverse City. Many wonderful restaurants, wineries, golf courses, and shops just to name a few of the many things available to do and see in the area. Great boating and fishing, hiking and kayaking. We have the Cherry Festival in July, Horse show in July, Movie Festival after that and many, many events thru-out the spring, summer, and fall. And don't forget about the fall colors. There is no better place to see them than on the River! There is plenty of wildlife in the area, lots to do and see right in this beautiful cottages backyard! Enjoy a bonfire by the river and watch the night sky for northern lights and satelites!
