'It's not just a transaction...for us it's our passion!'

AspenHaus Cabin is situated in a parklike setting with shared access to the Big Thompson River. From our cozy mountain home it is just a short walk into the Rocky Mountain National Park, 1/2 mile to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows entrance of RMNP and 3.5 miles to the town center. Or simply leave your car at our home and take the FREE Estes Park Summer shuttle from a stop located within 1/4 mile of AspenHaus Cabin!!

And the AspenHaus Cabin is right down the road from AspenHaus Lodge... purchased in January 2013 we have freshly updated it to provide you with the same ultimate Rocky Mountain experience! Since buying the cabin we have updated the kitchen, painted the entire interior, re-finished the pine floors, had new carpet installed throughout, purchased new furniture for the great room as well as other mountain cabin furnishings, installed gas logs, a new Weber natural gas grill for the deck, updated lighting and stained/painted the exterior deck and trim. Ready-set-go!

The main level vaulted great room is an ideal gathering space with a floor-to-ceiling Colorado moss rock fireplace in a warm and inviting living room setting, an adjoining fully equipped kitchen and dining room area. Picture windows all around...no artwork needed on these walls!

Step out on the deck to enjoy the sounds of the Big Thompson River, just a stone's throw-away; and sneak a peek of Flattop Mountain and Hallett through aspen groves and pine trees... you can take it all in while having your morning coffee, an evening glass of wine or cooking dinner on the grill. And while you are there be sure to say 'hey' to our frequent visitors including elk and wild turkeys!

The main floor bedroom has a king sized bed with an adjoining full bath. Also on the main floor is an off-kitchen laundry and access to the one car attached garage.

The second level of AspenHaus Cabin has two vaulted ceiling bedrooms (a king bed in one and 2 twins in the other); connected by a loft hallway and jack-and-jill bathroom with a separate (double) sink area.

As our guest you will enjoy access to shared common fishing, picnic and playground areas along the Big Thompson river... all within sight of AspenHaus Cabin.

Take a short woodsy walk along the Big Thompson River and emerge to expansive views of Moraine Park. Visit the museum, catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations or continue your hike on to Cub Lake where you will have extraordinary opportunities to view herds of elk along the way.

Need we go on... our family thinks that AspenHaus Cabin is perfect in every way... not just another vacation rental but our perfect mountain cabin!

Mountain Magic

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 5 July days at this wonderful cabin footsteps from Rocky Mountain National Park. The location was perfect - away from Estes Park summertime congestion, though close to the Park entrance, delicious barbecue, burgers and a small supermarket, and easy driving distance to the wonderful hamlet of Allenspark. I could recommend many other places to eat, hikes and drives, but you have an even better resource - Sue, the owner and manager of AspenHaus. Never in all our years of house rentals have we encountered anyone more helpful, accommodating, and kind. Put yourself in her hands and your visit will be perfect.

As for the house itself, the construction is solid, the furniture is comfortable, the decorations reflecting western living, an easy-to-use TV/ media center, and the kitchen extremely well equipped. You feel like you are living in someone's lovely home, rather than a vacation rental. The neighborhood is cozy, with homes close by but still private. The river is across the road, close enough to hear the rushing water at night.

If you are a group from two to six people, and appreciate not living in the middle of summer crowds and chaos, look no further. Aspenhaus is your home away from home!

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the AspenHaus Cabin. We noticed right away how fully stocked the kitchen was, and how we would be in close proximity to everything we wanted to do. We were able to hike directly into RMNP! Also, the best restaurant in town is right across the street! The Dunraven Inn is a must! We loved being so close to the Big Thompson River that the stream could be heard from our porch. I personally loved the Weber grill. We had a fantastic steak night and felt right at home! The kids loved seeing the Elk up close several times! Thanks so much Mark and Sue. We highly recommend AspenHaus to our friends, and we will be back ourselves! Chad and Aimee N.

What a Spectacular Setting

  • 5 of 5

Mark And Sue, Just wanted to say what a beautiful cabin the Aspen Haus is, from the moment we walked in the comfort and cleanliness were beyond compare. The fully stocked kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals from simple to gourmet , I do believe you have thought of everything. The park like setting of the neighborhood is peaceful and tranquil. The location is perfect for attending events at the YMCA, ( wedding ), RMNP, restaurants , hiking trails, fishing, and town is just a short drive. Wildlife viewing from the cabin was exciting as we seen some buck deer and a few chipmunks , and of course the black bear that wandered thru the neighborhood one morning was priceless. Thank you so much for sharing your home it made for a great vacation. Can't wait to come back Deb & Dave

Beautiful home near the river!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. The perfect size for my family of four upstairs and a full bedroom/ bath for the grandparents downstairs. We utilized the garage space and extra refrigerator there for flowers for my sons wedding. It was also less steps for the Grandparents to enter the home from the garage, a bonus! Beautiful trails right from the cabin, and close to our wedding festivities at the YMCA camp. Sue was easily available to answer all our questions. Great internet connection!

Great Place for your Mountain Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin that is definitely well maintained. The layout is wonderful for two families to share, the beds comfortable and the kitchen amazingly well stocked. You could move in and not have to buy anything! Mark and Sue have thought of everything to make your stay trouble free. They are wonderful about making recommendations on restaurants, hikes to take, fun activities for the family. You can tell they care about their guests and making sure you have a great experience. There is playground across the street if you are bringing little ones which was a nice add. We saw elk, turkeys and a ton of hummingbirds during our stay. The fishing access is limited which might be a problem for some people but we were able to catch fish within the guidelines of the water access. It is wonderful to be able to walk into the park from your cabin and avoid the crowds in the park. The owners have a wonderful place, I would recommend without hesitation. We have been coming to Estes Park and RMNP for over 27 years and this is the best place we have stayed.

There is one negative, I would say that the speed bumps in the subdivision are ridiculous! Seriously, overkill, there are seven between the entry and the cabin, we got really tired of driving over them! We know this is a residential community but these were located about 10 yards from each other and were jarring at an idle. Not sure this is within the owners control but I can't think that the people who live there full-time would want to drive over those every single day!

Thanks, Mark and Sue

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to review AspenHaus Cabin, much appreciated!! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and Mike. We are sorry to hear that you weren't happy with the speed bumps... ironically it is the permanent residents who advocate for them (ourselves included!!). The speed bumps are in place from Memorial day until Fall to slow folks down due to the abundance of children, hiker-traffic, wildlife and dust during this time. As owners (and recent grandparents!!) we fully support the speed bumps; albeit they can be annoying sometimes when in a hurry : ) Thanks again and best!! Mark and Sue, Owners

Loved the Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Just our luck. We happened to be in town on a weekend when they got 36" of snow in the middle of May . Despite that problem, The owners, (Mark and Sue) somehow managed to have the Cabin ready for us when we got there. Sue kept in touch with us while we were on our way there to keep us informed on road conditions during the storm. We had no problem getting to the cabin. The Cabin was clean, cozy, and even more than we had expected. We couldn't believe all the amenities it had.

We loved to watch the deer grazing outside our window each day. We actually saw more wildlife by the cabin and in Estes Park than we did in Rocky Mountain National Park. As they mentioned in the cabin description, all we needed to bring to the cabin was food. They had everything else we needed . They also had books, videos and games for us to use. We couldn't have been happier with the cabin and will look to stay there again next time we come back. Thanks Mark and Sue for the wonderful time.
