About Greg Gibson
My wife and I moved to Santa Fe from Phoenix, AZ to escape the heat and hubbub of a big city. I grew up in Albuquerque, so it's a bit of a homecoming for me.
Greg Gibson purchased this Guest House in 2012
Why Greg Gibson chose Santa Fe
We love the dry climate and 360 days of sunshine, not to mention the ability to mountain bike, snowboard, fish or enjoy the local wineries all within a 30 minute drive. This particular area of Santa Fe is perfect for us because of it's proximity to great trail systems and easy access to downtown. It's also quiet and highlights the natural beauty of the area.
What makes this Guest House unique
We fell in love with this house because of the great natural light and landscape. The interior has just the right amount of southwest style with modern amenities for a touch of contemporary living.

The perfect getaway for our three-dog family!
When walking into Horned Toad Hollow after a six-day drive with our three dogs, our first reaction was that it felt like a retreat. It is handsome, with a high-ceilinged living room with comfortable leather sofa and chairs, a relaxing dining area and a kitchen as completely set up as we’ve ever encountered. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, and we loved the bathroom and its skylight. (There’s one in the kitchen, too.) Plus, the house was so clean – and with its tile floors, easy to keep clean as well.
Greg was an extremely accommodating host. We knew he was just an email or a phone call away, but except for a few times when we met him outside in the driveway, we didn’t see him. And that goes back to the feeling of the house and yard being a retreat. It is simply lovely.
The location is perfect, too. We spent most days driving about an hour away in different directions, and no matter where we went, access to highways in all directions was an easy drive. Getting downtown or to grocery stores took about seven minutes, and it was always fun to take the drive back to the hills and quiet neighborhood overlooking the town.
We can’t recommend Horned Toad Hollow with any more enthusiasm and hope to come back someday.
Thanks so much for your glowing review. You’re welcome back, any time.
"A" as in Awesome
This was my first HomeAway rental and it's going to be hard to beat. A beautiful, well-maintained guest house in a peaceful part of Santa Fe. It was well stocked with everything you need to feel like you're in your own home. The neighborhood is extremely safe and full of friendly people who are very welcoming. I recommend this place highly, and I hope to be back here next year.
The Santa Fe casita of your dreams
We stayed here 3 months while looking for a home of our own. How lucky we were! Greg and Tina are welcoming, friendly, and so helpful--but never in your way. The guesthouse itself is quiet, comfortable, cozy and well equipped--including the kitchen! The two of us, and our two dogs, had everything we needed during our stay. It's well located, too: a short drive from downtown (or anywhere in the city). And, there are miles of trails to hike or run on just out your front gate with lovely views everywhere you look! If you're seeking a guesthouse in Santa Fe, just stay here!
Couldn't have been better
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 months while working a short term contract. Greg and Tina we're welcoming from day one and happy to help and give helpful tips about the area. Many times went out of their way to be hospitable and helpful! The guest house is cozy warm and full of character. We only wished we could have stayed longer, and hope one day in the future if we get to return to be able to stay here again!
Terrific place, great landlord
I am in the middle of a stay in this lovely, quiet, extremely well appointed casita. It is in a very pleasant neighborhood minutes from everything Santa Fe has to offer -- my favorite pastime here is hiking, and there are trails very close by for hiking and mountain biking. But literally everything else you could want or need is close.
Greg and Tina are very nice, and Greg is instantly responsive to questions and to addressing anything you need. You could not ask for a better landlord.
I particularly love the courtyard, surrounded by a coyote fence, where my cat can safely enjoy the sunshine. The place had him at hello.
You will be very comfortable and happy here.
We spent 6 months at this lovely casita. We needed a place to stay in-between residences and felt very fortunate to have found this place. It was super clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is great! - in a quiet and secluded neighborhood, but very convenient to Santa Fe's attractions, shopping and groceries.
The owners live next door and were wonderful hosts - always gracious and attentive to making our stay the most pleasant. I highly recommend this lovely casita.
Located between the Santa Fe Opera and The Plaza, the Horny Toad Hollow is convenient to everything while allowing for a secluded getaway. Fantastic mountain biking at La Tierra trails right from the guesthouse as well as Dale Ball Trails a short drive away. Skiing and other snow-based activities are as close as 20 minutes away. Groceries and shopping are only 5 minutes away. Santa Fe is a great location for exploring Northern New Mexico, including: Pueblo Indian Dances, Flea Market, Farmers Market, Art Fairs, Art Galleries, Cooking Schools and the SF Opera. Other attractions that are very close by include wineries, micro-breweries, world-class dining and shopping.
There is a minimum 1-month occupancy. However, our 1-month rate is less than some 2-week rentals. A 10% discount is given for multiple month (3+) stays. Long-term rentals are accepted.
