Water didn't work
I stayed here for 2 nights, the first night the water in the shower did not work, no water at all. The owner fixed the shower head which had calcified, but the next night we had no hot water, and had to take an ice cold shower. The owner stated that the hot water worked that morning, and after we left, but when we stayed we had no hot water, for 2 days.
NIce, Quiet Place
We had the opportunity to stay at this cute little cabin by the river. It was immaculate and the sound of the river is so relaxing. I would highly recommend it if you want to get away from it all !!
Great option if you are looking for a relaxing stress free vacation
My husband and I were looking for a quiet vacation away from the typical summer crowds during a July 4 week, and this cabin afforded us this option and so much more. We loved its location, cleanliness and the owner's responsivness when we called in with an issue. We spent time relaxing by the water's edge and at night the fire pit came in handy. Sunsets over the river were beautiful with the deer and wild turkeys adding to the rusticity and peace.
Beautiful setting! Lots of great hiking nearby.
Very nice setting and private. Minor additions would improve the kitchen.
--- Larger trash bin
---- plastic plates and glasses should be replaced with microwaveable
However we enjoyed our stay very much. The turkeys were especially entertaining.
My wife and I had a wonderful five-day stay in the cabin on the Stillwater. Everything is top-notch, very pleasant, and very private. We enjoyed the wild turkeys, especially as they roosted at night in the cottonwoods in front of the cabin. Late nights drinking wine as the moon rose over the river! We were there during a very hot spell and the fly fishing was not so good (actually, basically skunked) on the lower Stillwater -- but it was terrific upstream in the forest portion around the woodbine campground. As usual, rural Montana is wonderful. Thanks, Sheila!
The cabin is located on the Stillwater River. There is Blue ribbon trout fishing right out your door. Sit outside and enjoy nature. There are rafting companies in Absarokee that offer raft trips. Also available horseback riding 13 miles away. Often you will see wild turkeys, deer and eagles outside the cabin. Yellowstone Park is within two hours, a beautiful drive to Red Lodge then over the Beartooth pass. There is a very clean public pool in Absarokee. Great hiking trails near which include Sioux Charlie, Woodbine Falls, Emerald and Mystic Lakes.
