The house is larger than it looks.

  • 3 of 5

We loved the house. Inside was very spacious there was enough room for 10. The house has a nice screened in patio as well as access to a BBQ. If your looking to hang out in the house, there are plenty of games to choose from.

Very friendly neighborhood.

Easy access to the wineries.

Disappointed in the fact the the back yard was flooded so we could not access the fire pit, which is why we rented the unit. The train also runs behind the house all hours of the night.

Owner's Response: Well we are sorry about the rain before your stay - not much we could do about that! The area behind (where the fire pit is set) and around the house is usually dry and not an issue. Some people love the sound of the the train at night and some learn to and sleep through it. But it is not for everyone. That is why we mention it in our description. We truly hope it wasn't too disturbing and you are willing to give us another try! We would enjoy having you back. You were an excellent guest.

Beautiful home, great location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home in a quiet, quiant town. Stayed here for my bachlorette weekend away with my girls and it fit all 6 of us comfortably. We went to Round Barn for a wine tasting and even hit the beach down the street for a little. Overall very impressed with the home and location. Would recommend to anyone.

Perfect Michigan Escape!

  • 5 of 5

What a great weekend! We had so much fun at the “Welcome Back Cottage”. We spent two nights and two days enjoying this great house. There were a total of 10 of us – 3 couples and 4 kids. The adults each had their own bedroom downstairs and the kids were all upstairs. The upstairs is more of a bedroom/hang out space than it is a loft (it has a door at the top of the stairs for privacy and noise reduction!). The first night we went to a great distillery and restaurant in Three Oaks about a 10 a minute car ride. The second night the adults did some wine tasting at the Round Barn which is just up the road and the kids hung out at the house and ordered pizza and watched a movie on the comfy coaches in the living area. The house is so inviting and it’s decorated so cute and most importantly, it was nice and clean when we arrived. There is a relatively new bathroom and what looks like a brand new bathroom on the main floor as well as another living space with a coach and an oversized chair so we had plenty of room to spread out. The little town of Union Pier is very cute with a few stores/restaurants, although b/c we were there in off season, a few places were closed. They have a great little grocery store where we bought stuff to cook breakfast the first morning. The kitchen is beautiful (nicer than the one I have at home!) and had everything we needed to make a great meal. The one thing we were worried about was the train being so close, but we never heard it during the night. We did hear it just before 9am, but it passed within in seconds. We’ve stayed at other houses in the area and you can hear the train from pretty much anywhere. We didn’t do the beach b/c it wasn't beach weather, but we went down to look at it and it was a two min drive. We are looking forward to returning to this house in the summer to enjoy your he beach, alfresco dining and checking our more wineries.

Great stay at the Welcome Back Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a great stay at the Welcome Back Cottage! 2 families with 10 people stayed very comfortably in this beautiful, newly renovated home! We have stayed at several homes in the area and by far, this home was the nicest & most comfortable especially considering the price (relatively low for the area but probably because it's a new listing). Owners did a fabulous job with decor and and we especially loved the screened in porch! We NEVER felt crowded and kids absolutely loved the loft!!This home was perfect for 2 families with ample and separate space for the adults and children. Beautiful, brand new kitchen with literally everything that you can possibly need! Quiet, wooded street with huge yard! The kids loved watching the deer from the front porch!!Since it was spring, we didn't spend much time at the beach but we did visit and it was very close (15 min walk). We walked into town a few times for coffee and pastries in the morning and amazing sandwiches for lunch! We spent time in New Buffalo (5-6 min drive,) and Three Oaks (10-15 min drive). We will definitely be returning to this wonderful home - working on booking our summer trip now!
