About Tom Chou
Our family is from Southern California and we use this property as our vacation home. It's become a family tradition and we visit 2-3 times per year. We have a 12 year old daughter who loves the neighborhood animals, including Henry the Goat.
Tom Chou purchased this House in 2002
Why Tom Chou chose Riverview Ranch
We fell in love with Montana nearly 20 years ago. I'm a passionate fly fisherman, and this location is close to some of the best fly fishing in the world. Once you visit Montana, you'll be hooked. It becomes part of you.
What makes this House unique
This home sits on top of a hill with spectacular Gallatin Valley views. The sitting room is one of the best rooms in the house to take in the views, read, and nap. It's a perfect base camp for the multitude of activities available in the area. It's close enough to the main highway to conveniently get to all the activities close by, but still private. It's less than 15 minutes to the ski resort in the winter one way, and only 45 minutes to West Yellowstone the other. The Big Sky Town Center is a mere 5 minutes up the road. The home has porches back and front, including a hot tub, so you can sit with a glass of wine and soak in the beauty and grandeur of Montana.

Great house in great location
Well appointed and Great Views
The house is full of upgrades and updates. The kitchen is new and well done. The sitting area is plush and amenities are plentiful. There is a spotting scope overlooking the valley where Elk come down from the mountain!
Groups of guys - Sleeping space is for 6 if you don't share beds and don;t do pull outs.
We had 7, so one guy spent the week on the couch. While there are two full bathrooms, the downstairs services the two bedrooms that can (individually) sleep 4 guys. The other full bath is upstairs in the Master bedroom. Me and couch sleeper shared that bath.
If winter - ensure that there is access to the guest house. And beware that snows will cover the path, and wind drifts between the main house and guest house.
The Hot tub is really nice, but we didn't like the cover (when in the open position) blocking our view to the west.
Roxy's grocery store is just 4 miles away, so you can get what you need there, but it is more costly due to the fact its on the mountain road.
Natural burning fireplace was great and ample wood supplied.
Unit has a crock pot and most every cooking need.
The house was great.
It was private and very quite.
Great place for family ski trip to big sky. Great Nordic close by too.
Nice kitchen and entertaining area. The sitting room off the main room was cozy yet bright with great views. Nice place to relax and visit or read. The guest house was rustic but comfortable if the heat was turned up. Had to shovel the snow for a path to get back there. I think it snowed 16 inches during our 4 day stay. Called and they did plow the driveway. Good thing we had all-wheel drive vehicles to get around. Comfortable beds. Big sky ski area was a 20 minute drive. Yes, we would recommend.
lovely house, lovely views, great location.
Will repeat this exact location!
Amazing location, sky-filled Mountain View’s, and comforts for our family of 8 in this property. Owner Tom is readily helpful. Everything was even prettier than the pictures. Great beds. Our activities and restaurants were super close. Five/five stars, for sure!
Located in Big Sky, less than 50 miles from West Yellowstone and perched above the Gallatin River on 5 private acres, yet conveniently located near highway 191 for easy access to activities all year round, especially Yellowstone National Park. You can walk to the river to fly fish, or it's just a 15 minute drive to the ski resort.
