About Maureen Erickson

I am a pediatric Occupational Therapist and my husband is a high school teacher. We grew up in Wisconsin and Minnesota. My son Nick is in medical school at George Washington Univ. in D.C. and my daughter is in the Animal Behavior B.S. program at Indiana University Bloomington. We love World Golf Village:)

Maureen Erickson purchased this condo in 2012

Why Maureen Erickson chose Florida North East

You will love the peaceful setting, the amenities, Mediterranean feel of the community, the beautiful grounds, Golf community, and proximity to downtown and beaches. We love the architecture and history of downtown St. Augustine, but love being out in this community where it is quiet, and you can walk, bike, play tennis and golf.

What makes this condo unique

It feels like new Tuscany...the pool, portico and entry is so beautiful....the arches, trees and proximity to all tourist activities. I fell in love with this place online, just returned from my first visit December 2012 and vacation here regularly!

It's a lovely and relaxing spot to get away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

The room was beautiful and Laterra is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Florida subshine. It's a short drive from downtown. We had a lovely time and hope to come visit again

Mostly good with opportunities for improvement

  • 3 of 5

Location. Perfect for what we needed. Place looked great. Now for the things you should be aware of

Very up front about no WiFi, but doesn't tell you that you are in a dead cell zone... You want to make a reservation or text a friend? Not from the room.

Advertises as room for 4 with a pull out, but no linens for the pull out? Towel situation as well is very tight... You get 3...thats it (and you'll want more between pool and bathing)

Oh... And 1 set of keys only... Which you think you can make work until 1 person wants to use pool and everyone needs to go becuase you have to lock up.

So... Would take these into consideration when choosing and planning things to bring.

Beautiful, Safe and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for the Memorial Day Weekend and we must say that the condo didn't disappoint. The Resort is clean, quiet and safe. The grounds are beautiful. If you are coming to St. Augustine, we recommend this area for a nice quiet rental. However, make plans to leave at least 30 minutes or more depending on the weekend to get to the St. Augustine attractions. Your drive will take you about 30 minutes.

There is a convenient Publix and CVS and Walgreens just outside the complex for all necessities. The Studio has a comfortable Queen bed and the sofa bed is very comfortable as well. You can rest great here with all the peacefulness needed. The condo has a decent sized patio area and you also have access to the pool area at the main clubhouse.

I recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great out of the way place to stay. Not to mention Maureen the owner is great and will keep in constant contact with you as needed.

Thanks again,

Alexander P.

Nice vacation rental-NOT FOR A BUSINESS TRAVELER

  • 4 of 5

I rented this property for 6 weeks while in process of relocation for my job. It is a great set up for vacation/relaxation; however, did not meet my needs to accommodate being reachable for business. I had little to no cell reception in the unit; I had to step outside to make calls. I gave up on internet and ended up going to the office to work. The location is conveniently accessible to the interstate. It is a quiet and well kept resort. Parking is not designated to a spot nor is there an option for covered parking. The listing description was accurate; however, should mention poor cell reception. The owner of the property provided good service. I did find (after having time to research) other options that provided more value for the money closer to the beaches and center Jacksonville near the St Johns River.

Owner's Response: I agree-my cell phone does not work in the unit either. My vrbo ad clearly notes that there is no internet in the unit. Most renters use the Renaissance Inn (about 5 minutes away) if they have printing needs or need to work for longer periods of time. I do a great deal of computer work when I visit, so I hit the coffee shops in St. Augustine if I need more than my smart phone...or internet for more than 15 minutes. There is always ample parking at Laterra, even in busy season, including parking for RV's and motorcycles. The St. Augustine area is definitely more expensive than any locations closer to Jacksonville. I am willing to be competitive in terms of price if it is off-season:) I will add the poor phone reception to my ad so that business travelers will be aware. Thank you for your response and I will remember to ask future guests if they plan to work after hours!!
