Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

Helene’s home is the perfect spot after a day of skiing. It is comfortable, very clean, and nicely updated. We loved cooking (this is one of the first houses we’ve stayed in that actually had decent quality cookware- thank you!!!) and hanging out by the great fireplace at the end of our day.

I would definitely come back!

Beautiful house equipped with everything needed for your stay. Country style feel but very modern and clean residence. 17 minute drive to Okemo Ski resort. Open floor plan on the second floor was enjoyed by everyone here. Plenty of firewood to keep the fire going. Lots of room for parking(4-6 vehicles depending). bunks were big enough for adults to sleep in. Very clean and would definitely stay again!

Vermont Retreat

  • 5 of 5

So I have not been to the Killington ski area for over 30 years and decided to take the family skiing the week after Christmas. Having never skied Okemo I decided I wanted a place with easy access to both mountains. This place fits that bill. We arrived the day after a big snow storm so it was definitely a winter wonderland. The road to the house has some very steep sections and sharp turns so if you do not have a four wheel or are afraid of driving down such roads you might want to reconsider. To me this is the mountains, so par for the course.

The house is a free standing structure with a garage across the driveway and is quite cute with a rustic appearance. The layout is kitchen/dining area separated from a large living room/fireplace by the stairs to the lower level. The furniture in the living room is comfortable and quite conducive to hanging out by the fire and watching the television mounted above the fireplace. All three bedrooms are downstairs with a nice master king bed and private bath. The second bedroom is moderate size with 2 queen size beds and the third essentially a closet with bunk beds but great for a couple of teen boys. There is a 2nd bathroom off the downstairs hall. Of note, there is no powder room on the upper level which is a little bit annoying as you have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. The kitchen was clean, bright, and well appointed with pretty much everything you might need to cook a meal.

When we stayed temperatures outside ranged from -12 to 13 degrees so it was COLD. The heating system in the house includes baseboard throughout with controllers in every room as well as a large heating unit in the living room which really makes the difference for the upstairs. We kept all the bedroom and bathroom doors closed to keep those rooms warm which works very well but the core hallway on the lower level does get a bit chilly. Given the extreme conditions I thought the heating system performed quite well.

There is no cell service at the house so wifi is very important and worked well.

Finally, as with any rental there were couple of small glitches not worth describing but just to say the Helene was always immediately responsive to any questions and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. She also made good recommendations for where to park at each mountain which was very helpful.

If you do not need to be right at either mountain base this place was perfect with a price that can not be beaten!

Perfect for a family ski week!

  • 5 of 5

Great home in a quiet community close to Okemo, Killington and Pico. The house was roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed sledding, skating and skiing in the area and then relaxing by the living room fire. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for our family of six. Thank you!

Quiet Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

The home is a beautiful comforting set up. Open space for everyone to enjoy each other's company along with separation when it's time to sleep. Favorite part is the fireplace, was a perfect place to rest after a long day of being on the mountains. Great location!

Great house, very comfortable, kitchen very well equipped! Easy 10 minute drive to Okemo.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house, very clean, very comfortable and very convenient to get to Okemo and all that Ludlow offers. We cooked every night as we had a 3 and a 5 year old who skied and were tiered by the time we got home, so it was great that the kitchen was very well equipped. There were three bedrooms and two bathrooms that accommodated our crew of 7 perfectly. The fireplace was great. It snowed quite a bit and Jim took good care of plowing the driveway. Thank-you to Helene for working it so that we arrived a day earlier than anticipated, because of a snow storm coming in the day we were supposed to arrive. We had a wonderful 4 day stay and we would definitely come back and stay at this house again. Marta and Greg
