If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable mountain getaway then the Whippoorill Cabin is your perfect choice. This new cabin has 2 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with granite counters throughout. The cabin is nestled in the tri-state corner of NC, Georgia, and Tennessee. With a mere 2 hour drive you can be in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, Atlanta, or Asheville.
The John C. Campbell Folk School is less than a mile away and offers a variety of classes from blacksmithing, woodworking, basket making, etc. and weekly concerts. Or if you are up to a little 1/2 mile hike, just take a trail at the back of the property to the school.
If you want to bring in the new year in a different view, then you will have to experience the famous 'Possum Drop' held every year at Clay's Corner. You will also get to enjoy the best fireworks in Western North Carolina. Clay's Corner is also just a stones throw away or walking distance if it is not too cold.
There is also a stocked pond on the property where you can fish (catch and release).
Awake to breathtaking view of the trees and mountains and listen to the many birds singing. Especially in the spring, you will never get tired of listening to the whippoorwills. Simply enjoy the natural beauty of the area by relaxing on one of the covered porches and you may see a deer or more wandering through the yard.
The gas fireplace in the living area is perfect for those chilly nights.

Private and peaceful
Very clean and we'll kept. This property was extremely comfortable and cozy. Loved the gas fireplace.
Long Weekend with Granddaughter
Beautiful cabin. Tastefully decorated. The cabin was very convenient to Murphy, N.C. I would definitely stay here again if available.
Warm and cozy, and full of quiet peacefulness. This cabin is pure tranquility.
The property is quaint without being “lodge like”, very clean, full of amenities, and well-kept, well-planned, and full of wildlife to watch from the front porch, such as squirrels, birds, and rabbits. It is a wonderful place to stay with a partner.
Quiet Weekend Away
My husband and I had a nice, quiet weekend away. We recently celebrated our 21st anniversary and decided a weekend away was just what we needed. This cabin was beautiful! The bed was comfortable and we used the fireplace often. We had a great time and hope to visit again.
Immaculate, beautiful, welcoming
We enjoyed relaxing in front of the fireplace! It was a very cold New Years weekend so we were not able to enjoy the outdoor amenities which are awesome! The property is almost like staying in a treehouse. Every window has a beautiful view of the woodlands. We were fortunate to see a couple of deer on two occasions this weekend. It was restful, peaceful, and very comfortable. The interior is beautifully decorated . We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
Wonderful as always
Home away from home.....always clean and comfortable.....beautifully manicured....private and quiet.....and always hard to leave. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely cabin with us!
