If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable mountain getaway then the Whippoorill Cabin is your perfect choice. This new cabin has 2 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with granite counters throughout. The cabin is nestled in the tri-state corner of NC, Georgia, and Tennessee. With a mere 2 hour drive you can be in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, Atlanta, or Asheville.

The John C. Campbell Folk School is less than a mile away and offers a variety of classes from blacksmithing, woodworking, basket making, etc. and weekly concerts. Or if you are up to a little 1/2 mile hike, just take a trail at the back of the property to the school.

If you want to bring in the new year in a different view, then you will have to experience the famous 'Possum Drop' held every year at Clay's Corner. You will also get to enjoy the best fireworks in Western North Carolina. Clay's Corner is also just a stones throw away or walking distance if it is not too cold.

Beautiful cabin just down the road from Campbell Folk School

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a lovely weekend at Whippoorwill cabin while attending classes at the Folk school. One word of advice: arrive in daylight as the twisty one lane roads winding through the hills make the cabin difficult to find. But once here, I enjoyed every minute. The owners invested in quality and it shows. Lovely wooden floors. Stone fireplace with gas heat. And of course, Smoky mountain bear decor. Fabulous cabin!

Fresh modern cabin in the moutains

  • 5 of 5

Our first stay at this charming little cabin close to the John C Campbell Folk School & we just loved it. It was sssoooo quiet & peaceful here. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need (other than food) & the daily visits from a mama deer & her adorable fawns added to that enjoyment. We were able to have a daily lunch at the cabin because it's only a 1.5 mile trip from the school. The weather was perfect during our stay (much better than the mid-90s we left back home). We're already planning our next set of classes at the Folk School & will make sure we're able to stay here again.

Beautiful Cabin in Quiet Location

  • 5 of 5

Traveled with two kids to the cabin and were very comfortable. The cabin was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching deer. The walking trails through the woods were fun for all. We sat in the yard and watched the solar eclipse. The only thing we found lacking was grilling supplies, so if you plan to grill be sure to bring charcoal, tools and matches. We would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone.

Stay in Brasstown

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed staying at this lovely cabin. The location was so very peaceful, yet very near the Campbell school where we took a week-end class. Wish we had planned to stay longer!

Perfect getaway location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this cabin and will definitely come back again! The location is fabulous for classes at the John C. Campbell School. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable. Every morning and evening, we saw deer in the yard outside our window. If you are looking for a great place to relax, look no further.
