About John J. GallagherJr.
My family lived blocks from the property when I was born. I grew up in the Boston area and went to schools here. This property has been in my family for over 100 years and recently I completely renovated the house. When we are not traveling we live here and love the home and the location.
John J. GallagherJr. purchased this House in 2007
Why John J. GallagherJr. chose The Port
The entire Boston area has so much to offer, including sightseeing, sports, beaches, boating, museums, restaurants, bars and fabulous universities. Our home is in the middle of it all. Everything is new: appliances, windows, floors, baths, tankless hot water heater. We have it all!
What makes this House unique
We designed this house with the idea of a large family or several couples being able to stay here comfortably. Everyone has their space. Once you open the front door (after parking your car in the driveway!) you immediately feel at home. Visting children at school? Coming for a big game? Have a family wedding? Need a backyard space? Dishes, pots and pans and lovely appliances are all here for your use too. But the location is the best part of this lovely home. Be one of the first to list with us.

We wanted to get away from the hotel experience in the downtown area of a big city so we found this property in Cambridge which is located close to such locations as Harvard and MIT. We used the house as our home base and found the big attractions in Boston easily accessible as well as the richly historical towns of Lexington and Concord. We had 3 small children with us so the house was big enough to contain their energy when we weren't on the go. Direct communication with the owners was great and instantaneous.. Like almost every house in the greater Boston area this residence has three stories so make sure that you are physically able to negotiate so many steps! There also was a little more traffic noise in the morning than I would have liked but we were gone so much that this was not a big deal. There was a great little neighborhood playground located within easy walking distance and, when we weren't on the go, it was a great place to let the little ones burn off some energy. Coupled with a nearby coffee shop and a great sandwich location right next to that it made this a great place to stay. The consensus was that we were very happy that we had decided to avoid the hotel life and find a home away from home.
Brought my family to Boston for the week. There were 9 of us and we found this home very comfortable
We had 6 adults & 3 children in our group. We were very comfortable at this property. Metro station and shopping available within short easy walking distance.
One night stay for Red Sox vs Yankees
This property was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are very nice and attentive. Would highly recommend! Great location from Fenway.
Great house in a great location!
Great property. Easy access to Boston, excellent local restaurants. Everthing in the property description was accurate. Made for a great visit to Boston.
Comfortable for a Large Family
Owners were responsive and accommodating, and the house was spacious, homey and well located. Our family of 8 was glad to have this comfortable spot to retire during a long weekend of sightseeing and college tours.
Great for families
Well kept, clean home! Perfect for families. Great 3 full baths allowing multiple people to have their own space. Close to MIT and Harvard.
We are located in the heart of Cambridge, right across the bridge from Boston. We are surrounded by mit, harvard, mass general, kendall square. Many restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. 15 minute walk to the mta red line. 15 minute drive to logan airport.
