Hear the tranquil sounds of Lake Buckhorn and the whistling winds bristling through the magnificent North Georgia Mountains from this spectacular cabin called Lakeview Escape. Three levels of decks all overlooking the lake, there is a fishing dock, fire-pit, Pool table and direct access to The Griffin-Thrasher Trail, which is a circular, winding three-mile path beginning and ending at the Lake Buckhorn Pavilion. Just minutes from downtown Blue Ridge or Ellijay, there are a variety of great boutiques, antique shops, Mom & Pop and Fine Dining restaurants.
My husband and I are newlyweds, and this was the perfect retreat for a weekend getaway for us and our little terrier, Bingo. Although we enjoyed some hiking excursions and winery tours in the surrounding area, we both felt like we could have never left the property and still had an amazing vacation. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed paddling around the lake in the canoe, soaking in the hot tub, and playing a few games of pool in the loft. We also made s'mores in the lakeside fire pit and enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck with the dog. Having the Griffin-Thrasher 3 mile trail start right at the lake's edge was also a huge bonus, and we loved being able to take off on a hike right out our back door. The only negative about this mountain getaway was having to leave it - we hope to return again in the future!
The Lakeview Escape was an incredible cabin with one of the most breath-taking views of both the lake and the mountains. My boyfriend and I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub every night just looking out over the lake. We loved the canoe (which came with the cabin) and spent some time just floating around the lake. We fished from the dock and the grassy bank next to the cabin, I caught three fish and threw them back in. The fire-pit was so cozy, we relaxed with a nice glass of wine at dusk and just enjoyed our time together. We didn't bring out husky, Sheba, with us this time, but we definitely will on our next visit......which hopefully will be in the fall to see the colors, all in all, this was a fabulous cabin with an incredible setting and all the amenities that we needed
