A class A musky lake, it offers great fishing and boat accessible resorts for fish fry, food and beverages. This west facing property offers spectacular sunsets and vacant properties on each side of the 200 feet of lakeshore frontage. With 5 acres of private land to explore and 2800 acres of water to discover, this is a true slice of heaven.

About Terri & Nate Marsten
We are the Marstens. Terri, Nate, Oscar (11) and Greta (9). We live in Minneapolis and our favorite place is the cabin, go figure! We are avid skiers and bikers and all things outdoors. We hope you enjoy this beautiful gem as much as we do.
Terri & Nate Marsten purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Terri & Nate Marsten chose Hayward
We were really drawn to the quiet sports and the quiet lake. It let us get away from the buzz and the distractions of city living.
What makes this Cabin unique
There is this most amazing wavy grass on the property that is unlike most forest floors. The quaintness of the cabin, the lay of the property, the gorgeous sunsets that let summer nights last until 10 pm are just a few reasons. Not to mention there are no immediate neighbors -YEAH! (vacant parcels on both sides of the 200 ft of shoreline). And, as the wind typically blows from the west, we enjoy breezes and fewer bugs.

A quiet, clean air, nature retreat with lots of fun opportunities for activity
This cabin is a gem. The location was perfect for our trip to mountain bike, fish, and canoe/kayak. It is in perfect proximity to Norske Nook, two connected lakes, tons of mountain bike trails, Hayward attractions, and Tilly's Pies in Cable! We would definitely like to return sometime soon to take more advantage of the lake, and this time bring our jon boat. Thank you to the owners for sharing their special spot with an excellent view. I can still hear the loons.
Charming & secluded
If you would like a place to get away from it all, this is the place. Very secluded and away from everything. You have everything you need at this place except food, sheets and towels. There are a lot of games and puzzles. A nice fire pit also. We didn't have time for games this was a fishing weekend and we spent most of our time on the water.
Magical Location - Amazing Family Vacation
Wow! Clean, cute, comfortable - well stocked, and some strange wonderful magic. We just floated in the water at the end of the pier and all manner of stress and worry disappeared. The information left by the owners is thorough. The beds are very comfortable. Seriously, nothing negative to say. Book and enjoy.
This is a peaceful place where you can relax and connect with the people you came with. The owners have cell service but we did not (we have AT&T). However, this can be a good thing. There is a video library that looks pretty good but there is no DVD player or TV, so bring your own. The lake is a "quiet lake" and there are no jet skis or water skiers, but few people comply with the 10 mph speed limit. There are a group of ducks that swim by every evening. We caught plenty of panfish and a decent pike right off the dock.
We always appreciate feedback. Thank you. There is now a DVD player and TV for video watching. The previous one had broken and has now been replaced.
Loved this place!
This is a cute little north woods cabin with all the amenities anybody could need. The owner's manual and instructions were very detailed and helpful, the cabin was clean and we all really enjoyed our stay very much. There were 2 bald eagles that would fly right above us every morning as we'd drink our coffee on the pier - they'd go searching the lake for food, not to mention we could hear the loons at a lot of times throughout the day and every night, the lake would get as calm as glass. It was just beautiful. My only recommendation is bring bug spray - the heavy duty stuff - the mosquitoes will get you but there is a fire pit to keep them away and Off does wonders. This is an ideal north woods home if you're looking for some quiet time surrounded by nature - plenty to do if you love the outdoors. No joke about it being a Class A musky lake - fishermen were right out in front of our pier the day we arrived (so naturally we rented a boat hoping to catch one). Lost Land Lake Lodge had a great fish fry - we went by boat. All in all it was beautiful and a lot of quiet relaxing fun. We never got tired of the sunsets to say the least...just an awesome place overall. We are hoping to come back next year.
Clean and quant and quiet
What an amazing spot! . So peaceful. The loons singing. The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and well maintained. The sunsets were gorgeous. There was a nice breeze that kept the mosquitos away and a great fire pit looking over the lake. Even did some fishing right off the dock. Swimming off the dock was fun as the water is not too deep and the kids could go in and out as they pleased. A great family get away for us.
Lost Land Lake is a special place located within the Chequamegon Nat'l Forest. Designated as one of WI three 'Quiet Lakes' it features a 10 mile an hour speed limit and NO jet skis or water skiing.
