Why Marco Nelson chose Central City/Garden District

After living in New Orleans we quickly realized that the Uptown, Garden District area was the best place to be to enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer and still get the traditional southern neighborhood experience. Our home is over 100 years old and so are most of the homes in the neighborhood, so you get to stay in one of the homes most people take a tour from downtown to come look at.

Nice place, near grocery, bars and Magazine St.

  • 4 of 5

House was nice. We were disappointed that there was not a grill as there was in the pics when we reserved the house. About 15 min drive from the downtown area, so not walkable. We had five people and the house was a great size for our group.

Perfect spot for a quick weekend trip!

  • 5 of 5

This house was so roomy! We planned a quick trip to New Orleans for a bachelorette party and this place was so spacious, clean and nice. The location made us girls feel safe and it was really close to Magazine Street which has amazing shops and restaurants. Marco was very easy to get in touch with when we had a question and he helped make our stay that much better. If you’re looking for a nice spacious place to have a big group of friends enjoy the city, book this one!!

Great traditional New Orleans shotgun that has been well-maintained! Plenty of cooking paraphernali.

Located close to Magazine Street and St. Charles, staying here lends easy access to other areas of the city. The house is very welcoming and spacious. Thank you for inviting us in!

Big Mistake

  • 1 of 5

The house smells horrible. Old foods left in the fridge, dirty bedroom carpet, my wife found blood in bathroom. Dangerous neighborhood. My family was on our way back to Texas from Florida and we decided to stop by News Orlean for 2 days so we rented this house. We moved in for 45 minutes but it's unbearable to stay so we drove straight home. Owner refused to return the money, I paid for an expensive lesson, never come to this city again.

Good amount of personal space and a short distance from the action

  • 5 of 5

We reserved this property due to the limited amount of space we have at our personal home for a extended family Christmas visit. With family coming and going each day, there was enough space for two kids ( 1 and 3), and six adults to be in the house and not on top of each other.

Location: The house is a few blocks from Magazine street and about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from some good resturants and bars within the Garden District and uptown area. The house is a short distance from St. Charles Street (recommend driving and parking for free on a side street) where you can catch a trolley to the French Quarter ( $1.75 per ticket with exact change or $3 all day pass).

Space: As mentored before the house is roomy. The master bedroom has a huge bathroom connected to it, and the second bathroom is located in the hallway, which is also a good size. The kitchen is big enough to cook and seat 8 people. The backyard has a nice size patio set with a grill located in the sideyard. We were able to park one full size car and two medium size SUVs.

Owner: Marco did a great job of answering all of our questions and addressing any issue that arise during our stay.

I highly recommend this place if you have a large group and don't mind driving or using public transportation to get around.
