Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, + Outdoor shower (Sleeps 8 comfortably in beds)

Welcome to A Shore Thing! Originally built in the 1940's, this historic home has recently undergone a massive renovation inside & out that was completed in February 2013. It has an open floor plan, and has been updated to modern standards, with all the decorative touches you would love to see in a vacation home. Outside you can park your boat in one of our two boat slips, fish off the boardwalk, or have dinner with friends & family on whatever level of beautiful deck you choose!

Given the fact that it is a historic home, a few features of this house are a little different than what most of us may expect in a place today. Please note: All bedrooms are upstairs, the main bathroom is downstairs, and a small bathroom is upstairs. ‘A Shore Thing’ features a lakefront master bedroom containing French doors that lead to a wonderful deck that’s just perfect for sipping a drink and watching the sun rise & set over Lake Hamilton. This room is also equipped with a king size bed & LCD TV for your viewing pleasure. In the second and third bedrooms you will find queen size beds & LCD televisions. We also have a sleeper sofa in the living room allowing two more guests to comfortably sleep in the home. The living area is equipped with Wi-Fi and surround throughout the home & outdoors.

This lakefront property is a piece of Hot Springs history, as it is part of the very first resort on Lake Hamilton. Many years ago there was an underground casino (when gambling was ‘illegal’) inside of our neighbors home, and gangsters such as Al Capone were known to frequent here.

If you must cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 30 days in advance. Cancellations less than 30 days in advance will forfeit the entire prepayment amount – No exceptions. Please note that reservations made less than 30 days prior to arrival will immediately be subject to this non-refundability. For the reasons stated above, we highly recommend purchasing trip insurance that can possibly help you recover part or all of your payments should you have to cancel your trip.

Great place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great trip here. House was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. Outdoor deck area was the absolute best. Would for sure stay here again!

well maintained but overall a disappointing experience

  • 2 of 5

While the property is well maintained and very clean the rental experience was personally disappointing.I realize that the fire that occurred to numerous local residences is beyond the owners control, the ruble remains and is quite unsightly as you drive up to the rental. The parking limitations are unacceptable. The steps to access the property are numerous and steep which becomes a nuisance over the course of your stay and are poorly lighted at night.Once in the property you will find it clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable but located upstairs with a single ( very small) bathroom and an impossibly small shower designed to accommodate all three bedrooms. That simply does not work well. There is one full size bathroom on the lower level . As advertised there is a pull out bed available downstairs but no bed linens or pillows were provided. The WIFI system is inconsistent, slow and not accessible throughout the house. There is an ant problem in the kitchen so be careful to not leave unopened food on the counter tops or crumbs on the floor. On the plus side ( yes there is a plus side) the three level deck is excellent and well furnished and the location of the property is excellent=very close to all Hot Springs activities. I would love to say the view was remarkable but you get to view the bridge (Route 70) crossing the lake. However, you do have excellent access to the lake and excellent docking facilities at the house. The neighborhood is quite and the decks quite relaxing and if the temperature drives you inside as it did us, the air conditioning and numerous fans throughout the house work quite well.

Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at A Shore Thing. Everything was so clean and comfortable. The patios are amazing. The only problem we had was parking a full sided SUV in either of the spots. The space was small and mostly blocked by the neighbors' vehicles.

Loving the Lake House

  • 5 of 5

The house was awesome. The master bedroom, decks, and entertaining areas were awesome. Loved that there was a television, grill and bar on the deck. Deck was great for gathering and playing games, chatting, watching games, listening to music and enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery.

'A Shore Thing' is centrally located on the main channel of Lake Hamilton. A public boat ramp is right down the road at Hill Wheatley Park. Marineland, a full service marina, is directly across the cove (slightly more than a stone's throw away). The Hot Springs Regional Airport, Harvest Foods, Walgreens, Kroger, Wal-Mart, McClard's, Smokin' N Style, Hawgs Pizza, Sonic, and McDonald's are all a few minutes from 'A Shore Thing.' Scenic downtown Hot Springs, and its wonderful art galleries, spas, shopping, and fun restaurants such as Fat Jack's, Rolando's, and the Brau Haus are less 10 minutes away, as well as fabulous racing at Oaklawn Park.
