Great home for family Get a way!
Our family of 6 with 4 adult kids enjoyed our vacation time at Elm House. This is a beautiful home and property to relax and explore. Our nature loving family really enjoyed the hikes, exploring the creek, finding fossils, observing frogs and birds, practicing photography. The home was spacious, clean, well stocked,. The family room is a very nice place to gather for games or watching movies. We enjoyed the fun laser disc collection. Wifi is available, but typical of rural internet, spotty and unreliable at times. The weather was too hot to take advantage of the hot tub and outdoor spaces, but they were lovely and inviting. Robert was a gracious host, communicated well and available to help as needed. I hope to come again!
Private Getaway for a Family
This was 9 min's to the beach which the kids loved, plenty of room for everyone to sit and relax at the end of the day. The puzzle box was a mind bender but my wife and I figured it out finally and then 2 days later our 9 year old niece figured it out all by herself. we would stay here again.
We enjoyed hiking through the trails on the property. The house itself was spacious. It was a nice weekend getaway!
Peaceful country setting with kind host
Our experience was great. The property is well maintained and very clean. Robert is such a kind host. Not only did he reach out to give all the proper important information ahead of time he also had a binder filled with information regarding the house and local area which was very helpful. We had no issues during our stay and were able to relax and enjoy the weekend.
The only thing I would suggest to future guest would be to double check map route and avoid Plum Creek Road. The road is narrow and gravel with many pot holes. Which can easily be avoided without adding extra time.
Thanks again Robert and we wish you and your family the best!
Thank-you for the kind words. You are correct about checking route suggested by mapping apps. Plum creek road is one to avoid! Best bet is to stick to the state roads when travelling to Nashville.
Ideal Rustic Getaway
Elm House is exactly as advertised - a clean, private home in the picturesque countryside close to Bloomington. The owner, Robert, is very responsive, and does quite a thorough job in detailing all of the various attractions and amenities provided at the property. I can honestly say that nothing about it disappointed me. My group had a great weekend here, and I hope that many more people take the opportunity to enjoy this experience as well.
Located on 103 acres of nationally recognized forest. Excellent hiking and birdwatching trails with observation posts. Three wineries and six micro breweries within a 15 minute drive. Peaceful, secluded area yet within minutes of Bloomington, Indiana University, a thriving nightlife, arts and entertainment venues. 45 minutes from Indianapolis airport, Colts and Pacers home arenas. Lemon Lake is 2 miles away and Monroe Lake is 20 miles. Morgan/Monroe State Forest is 5 miles north, Yellowwood State Forest is 8 miles east and the Hoosier National Forest is 20 miles south. Nashville, Indiana is located 15 miles east. Brown County State Park is 18 miles east.
About Robert Woodling

Why Robert Woodling chose Unionville
We purchased this property as the last parcel of the original farm dating back to the 1860s. It is now part of our 103 acre managed forest. Enjoy your stay with access to the forested trails, wildlife ponds, birdwatching observation towers and still be within easy driving distance of all Brown and Monroe counties have to offer.
What makes this House unique
Enjoy all that nature and the surrounding communities have to offer during the day and a relaxing hot tub in the evening followed up by a movie on the large screen TV, listen to your favorite music, or just visit with family and friends.
