Overview

About the property

This home is in great clean condition and sets in a very peaceful environment on about a half acre. The beach is less than 15 minutes walk to the west, north, and east!

You can hear the surf from the back porch.

A favorite walk to the beach is thru the Asilomar

Conference Center grounds, with Julia Morgan (Hearst Castle) architecture and plenty of deer. There is a playground about a block away.

In addition to Monterey area events (Golf, car shows, Laguna Seca raceway, Big Sur Marathon) Pacific Grove had many unique, small town events thru out the year.

About Dick Paquette

I am an engineer and my wife is an elementary school teacher. We are charter members of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Dick Paquette purchased this house in 1992

Why Dick Paquette chose Central Coast

After many trips to Pacific Grove and Asilomar, and dreaming about having a home there, I decided to look at houses one weekend. This is the last house we looked at; the kids were too tired to look further, but it was just what I was looking for. A peaceful area; walking distance to the beach, Point Pinos lighthouse, town; and a bonus of having a large wooded lot and also being across the street from a small forest. And the owner, a retired architect turned minister, had just remodeled the kitchen and was being called to a church in So Cal. The swing hanging from the huge oak in the back yard sealed the deal.

What makes this house unique

Pacific Grove is a great small town with many unique small town events. We love Feast of Lanterns at Lovers Point, the Butterfly Parade, Good Old Days, and others.

Pacific Grove is central to all of the Monterey Peninsula, events in Carmel, Laguna Seca, ocean sports. You can bike or walk form Pacific Grove thru Pebble Beach to Carmel. It is a short drive to the wild coast of Big Sur.

Lovely little house in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed this little house! We were in walking distance to downtown and the beach! House was very clean, comfortable and accommodating. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very informative about this area. He made sure we were well prepared before arriving. Weather was perfect! We would definitely love to rent this home again in the future.

Charming house in a wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying at the pacific grove house. It was in the perfect location for our weekend getaway. We spent the weekend paddleboarding, strolling the streets of Monterey and Carmel, and hiking in Big Sur. Dick made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The house was beautiful, clean, and well organized. I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect location and welcome.

  • 4 of 5

This is a nice little home tucked away in a great location. Perfect for those of us who like our privacy. Close to the tourist stuff but not too close. Short drive to the Monterey attractions. Great experience having our Grandkids watch a deer wander into the yard on our last morning there.

Quiet location, great home base while golfing

  • 5 of 5

It was a wonderful 10 day stay (in 2 stages) for golfing. The house was the right size with room for us to spread out. Towards the end of our stay, rain was threatening, but it held off and we got to see/hear the waves coming in off the coast from the back yard - a real treat. The walk to Asilomar and its beach front was surprisingly short. And the access to Monterey Aquarium was a nice plus. When we had questions for Dick he responded quickly. Very nice location.
