Beautiful view and relaxing!
It was a great place for the money! All the amenities of home... Beautiful deck to sit on and enjoy the out doors. The only things that were a little disappointing was the lake was full of vegetation where you have to get into the lake for this home.. It was very nice there are 2 kayaks and a paddle boat there to use!! The only thing is I was thrown for a loop when I got there and the welcome letter says no smoking on premises..yes I am a smoker, yes I had my own ashtray, yes I only smoke outside (always), no I do not throw my butts on the ground.. anyways no where before we got there did anything say this since I am a rule follower I would have liked to know in advance! However the owners were very nice!! Well worth the $
Perch Lake vacation home
The house is fine -- two bedrooms with queen beds and 3 sofas in a big living room. Tables for eating indoors and outdoors. Neighbors feed birds and a nearby bog (?) also attracts birds. Bring binoculars. Well-stocked -- we did not know what to expect, and were pleased to find ketchup, insect repellent (we saw fewer mosquitos than in Chicago), first aid kit (which we didn't need), etc. There is an outdoor fire pit and a neighbor sells firewood, and there are more hi-tech outdoor cooking options too. There were two kayaks and a paddleboat available for use, along with life jackets. My only suggestion would be get two more kayaks -- the paddleboat was harder to get in and out of the water, and it would have been nice for the whole family to be in kayaks at once. The lake has a lot of vegetation, but Google indicates there are no poison water snakes in Michigan and a neighbor said she has only seen 1 snake in 3 years of swimming with her small children. Water temperature was great for swimming and if you go out a little ways vegetation is far enough down not to be annoying. Greenville has antique stores and a path that goes around the town. The local chamber of commerce has info on events and nearby places.
Awesome cottage with everything.
I would highly recommend this cottage. If it's a family, couple or just someone looking to get away with a great waterfront view, this cottage has it all.
The Ball Family from Canton Ohio
We had six enjoyable nights. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Beautiful sunrise over the lake every morning. Nice to have a washer/dryer onsite. All the conveniences of home. Owner provided everything needed to make smores plus a nice bottle of wine. Location was very convenient to stores and restaurants. We'll be back again!
