Port Isabel is a network of waterways and homes that look out over the Gulf and the inner channels. It is a small tight knit and very friendly community offering small seafood restaurants, boutiques stores and shopping. A must see is the visitor center and the Port Isabel Lighthouse which dates back to the 1500's. The wonderful beach of South Padre and the Isla Blanca fishing pier is a short three mile drive away over the causeway.

About the owner: We are Alaskan residents and run a summer vacation home and fishing adventures on Pennock Island near Ketchikan. We really enjoy life on the water; there are no roads on the island and everyday running about involves a boat ride. We enjoy the outdoor life and spend summers fishing, kayaking and landscaping our five acre property.
Why the Owner Chose Port Isabel, TX, USA:
We looked at a lot of properties and were really taken with this one. The layout after you enter the gate centers around the water and the residents are very welcoming. We met several renters who have been coming back to Oyster Cove for 14 years. It seems to have a special atmosphere here of a small community rather than an anonymous block of buildings. Residents hang out at the pool and sometimes offer a fish fry BBQ to which all are invited. We love the opportunities this area offers to spend on the water, fishing, kayaking and exploring. We are used to small and friendly communities and Port Isabel is no exception. The area has a lot to offer both on the water and off, and the cost of living is really low. The property really fits our water living lifestyle and we love the ability to walk or bike to all the local amenities.
