The master bedroom features a new king bed and the second bedroom a new queen bed with air conditioning. There is a complete kitchen with all new appliances, living room, dining room, foyer and new washer and dryer, tile bathroom with full size soaker tub and shower, high speed wireless internet and cable tv. Enjoy the wonderful front porch and lovely garden. Plenty of parking is at the curb just outside the home.

Walk to one of Seattle's best local markets, 12 excellent local restaurants, and coffee roaster 3 blocks from the home! Express transit stop to downtown is 2 blocks. This home has 2 units, this listing advertises the 2 bedroom unit located on the top floor. It has it's own private entrance on the front porch and inside stairway with good handrail leading up to the unit.

Take light rail from the airport then Metro Rapid Ride E Line to the transit stop just 2 blocks from the house at 46th Street for $2.50 total fare. Use your ticket to transfer to the bus and on return to light rail to avoid paying an additional fare. You will not need a car!

Woodland Park, the zoo and our famous rose garden are just two blocks away! The University of Washington is 10 minutes by car, bus directly east on 50th or 15 minutes by bike via Greenlake Blvd and Ravenna greenway bike lanes leading to campus.

Clean, good location, kitchen is lacking...

Having stayed in many VRBO/Airbnb properties while we travel with our two young children, we know that this place was a good price. It was also very clean, but my partner noticed a stale cat urine odour. I normally am the one who is sensitive to smells, but he commented on it a few times. It is an old house, so it may just be from a previous owner. Scott's place was VERY clean! The master bedroom is enormous, so we opted to put our kids in there. The layout is a bit odd in that the second bedroom is right off of the living room with glass doors and heavy curtains to partition it off. It was fine for us, but might not be if someone wanted to sleep in there while others hung out in the living room or watched TV.

Although the shower is quite short (the apartment is on the top floor of a house, so the ceiling is sloped. I am 5'8" and had to duck a little to wash my hair), it was a lovely, well-pressured shower!

The unit is on the third floor of a house. The staircase has a solid railing, but is quite narrow. At the top of the stairs is the crossover point of the apartment between the living room, the master bedroom and the hallway to the bathroom/kitchen/dining area. With the kids going back and forth between the kitchen/dining area where we were cooking and the living room/bedroom area where they playing, it made us fairly nervous with our two year old, so we were creative in blocking off the stairs so he couldn't fall. It is fine for older children (ie. no worries for our 5 year old).

The kitchen appliances (dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, fridge) were all clean and relatively new. All worked well. However, no kettle was provided which seemed odd given the teapot that was provided. Previous tenants commented on this in the guest book. There were also only 3 bowls (cereal bowl sized), but no others for salad/serving/microwaving etc. There was plenty of cutlery and plates. Very few sharp knives existed (and none of them were sharp at all), nor a decent chopping board, nor a strainer, as well as a number of other things that have been provided in all of the other vacation rentals we've stayed in. This seems like the kind of kitchen where people are assumed to be eating a light breakfast at home, or maybe a very simple other meal, but is not really intended for proper meal preparation.

The location is great in a quiet neighbourhood a short walk from the zoo and a VERY quick drive downtown despite the distance.

Owner's Response: The home has a nice kitchen so this review surprises me. I have had multiple couples with small children stay for several month's without any complaints. From the review it seems it was not the kitchen or layout this guest wanted. All my guests to date have really liked the kitchen and room layout which allows privacy between bedrooms. The staircase is a normal width. Regarding the cat odor I was very concerned because there have never been any pets in the unit. My housekeeper and I have checked everywhere in the home to detect the odor and we could not find evidence of it. I take seriously any signs of off odors or evidence of pets having stayed in the unit without my knowledge. We check after every departure. I am not finding what they are claiming. I have professionally cleaned the rugs and staircase runner after their stay to be sure we did not miss anything. The kitchen items mentioned were moved to the downstairs kitchen by previous guests that rented both units in the home. We have since moved them back to the unit and sharpened the knives. I take seriously all reviews and feedback from my guests!

We loved our stay!

My mother and my two kids stayed here for two nights. We found it to be so relaxing and comfortable. The home is incredibly clean and spacious. You have everything you need in this home. We loved it so much that we walked to Marketime and picked up most of our food to eat in. The home is also within walking distance to truly the most beautiful rose garden I have ever seen. It is right next to the zoo and the kids even loved walking around smelling all the varieties of roses. Great place to take pictures. We went into the downtown area a few times and used Lyft. The wait time for Lyft was never over 3 min. The cost to go downtown was only around $6.00 to $8.00 and only took 10-15 min. So the location is ideal since you can walk to the zoo and rose garden and get to downtown fairly quickly. Most of all the home is comfortable. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on and the bedding was very nice. I felt very much at home here and we really were sad to leave!

Pretty neighborhood in quiet area.

My son and I enjoyed our stay very much. It was so nice to walk around the neighborhood, go to the market, catch the bus to get downtown. Home was very clean, bed comfortable, having to take my shoes off was no big deal. There were chairs on the porch. Using Uber/Lyft was very easy and very inexpensive as well. The house heats up very quickly if you get chilly.

I would suggest getting the bathroom door handle checked out. My son got stuck inside the bathroom and I had a hard time on the other side wriggling the handle to get him out. If I had been in there by myself I would not have had my phone and that would not have been good. I thought that since we were in the coffee capitol there would be a little bit of complimentary coffee for us in the morning. We picked some up at the market but a little bit first thing in the morning with a bit of powdered cream when we arrived would have been nice. Also I was not expecting to have to bring soap. I got in the shower expecting a little soap cake. Had to use the Dial hand soap on the sink for my first shower. Other than that Scott was very speedy in returning any texts, emails. He let us keep our luggage in the house after 11 since our plane didn't leave until 3 so we could do more sight seeing the day we left. That was really nice. I didn't want to have to figure out what to do with my luggage trying to see a couple more sights. I would recommend staying. The Freemont area is gorgeous and the price was right.
