Experience Montana the way you have always dreamed of it. Tucked away in a secluded area surrounded by national forest, our cozy custom built home offers you serene beauty and adventure. Relax by the creek that runs year round or go pick huckleberries on one of our many hiking trails. Thirty (30) minutes away from the small vibrant town of Whitefish and and only twenty (20) from Glacier National Park, you'll never be without something to experience. Set on 50 acres, there is a lot of room to roam the outdoors right out the front door! Horses and our dog are also on the property. There is a master bedroom upstairs that has a connecting patio door to enjoy the outdoors from the twin rocking chairs or the hot tub located on the upper deck. There are four bedrooms downstairs sharing a full bathroom. Both the upstairs and downstairs have spacious living rooms that invite conversation and good memories. The open floor plans give you the space you need but the feeling of home you want. Winter time you can cross country ski, snow shoe, snow mobile, or go sledding out the back yard. There is a snow mobile outfit in Columbia Falls that will rent machines and the trial goes up behind Big Mountain one mile up the North Fork road from us. Or you can just stay home and enjoy the quiet serenity of wintertime. With full windows on both sides of the family room, when it snows you feel like you are in a snow globe! We encourage family re-unions as all ages will have something to do. As our guest book says - pictures cannot capture the beauty, serenity of our home. Lynn and I have been natives to Columbia Falls Montana all of our lives. I was born and raised here on our homestead and Lynn moved here when he was 4 years old. We enjoy the outdoors and horse back riding in the Bob Marshall. We and our children built our home as a family which made memories for all of us working as a team creating everlasting memories and work ethics. Which, now that they are on their own thank us for all of the things they were taught. Family is what we want this vacation home to be - for all ages. four zero six eight nine two zero two six one

Why Joan chose Columbia Falls
Staying with us you will have no neighbors as you are surrounded by forest service. Cedar Creek runs year round for the relaxing sound, along with a horseshoe & fire pit. four zero six eight nine two zero six one
What makes this House unique
Sitting on the front porch hearing Cedar Creek either from the rocking chairs on porch or the hot tub is soothing! At night the stars are abundant and the moon is close on a clear night. On hot summer days the porch is always the right temperature to enjoy the outdoors. The home has central air conditioning so all is comfortable at all times.

Beautiful home with all the amenities for a fun stay in the Flathead Valley
Great home for family get togethers. Comfortable and well equipped, with everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay.
The home is absolutely beautiful. Comfortably furnished, top of the line appliances and amenities
This was a great location for our families vacation; secluded, quiet and comfortable. The home lives much larger than the photos show. The deck that looks out towards the creek was calming during the day and the hot tub was simply an additional bonus.
Beautiful house, perfect location. But not enough bathrooms (2 1/2) and a forest fire
We were meeting to enjoy family time in the country and see spectacular scenery. And this place had most of what we needed. Plenty of space, even room for two or three cooks indoors and one at the grill outdoors all at the same time! Our vegan was able to prepare all her own food and made dishes the rest of us liked, including muffins. All the kitchen appliances worked well, including a large microwave oven for non-cooks.
We could all eat together, but also spread out to do our own thing.
Three of us really loved the hot tub, two went for a walk (carefully watching their step for horse manure), one sat and knitted while enjoying the fresh air on the balcony, as another family member did floor exercises his therapist had assigned. The house had far more capacity than we needed, especially downstairs, where I'd say 50 kids could sleep on the floor, plus at least 6 adults in the beds. But there is only one bathroom downstairs.
Upstairs: 2 beds, 1 king, 1 queen, and a huge master bathroom with jacuzzi tub and a big double shower. And there's a half bath convenient for all.
The property is outside of town, (Columbia Falls) but CLOSE enough to run in for groceries whenever we thought of something more that we wanted. And CLOSE enough to Kalispell airport to run back for more family members arriving. Normally there are 2 or 3 CLOSE routes to get into the west side of Glacier National Park, the main attraction to this area.
But speaking of "close," the Park itself was CLOSEd on the west side when we visited. It's 2.5 hours to the east entrance. Of course there was nothing the property owners nor VRBO could have done about that.
But if a visitor is expecting to view amazing scenery at this property, there may be a slight disappointment. There is no river nor lake, and the little creek looks muddy, although the water is clear, just brown silt on the rocks at the bottom.
However, the night sky is amazing! And the surrounding hills felt almost like they embraced us, and certainly sheltered us from smoke that was detectible nearer to the Park.
The whole acreage belongs to the same property owners and their horse arena is the only other man-made structure in sight. We were delighted to see the three resident horses grazing around the edge of the lawn (there is an unobtrusive "fence" keeping them from entering the guest-only area).
The owners were on hand when we arrived, and usually available when we called with problems or question.
Sorry that your stay was during the fires that occurred due to no rain in August. That is why the creek (which runs year round) was low as were the rivers and lakes. Our horses were put out to pasture so they could find grazing that was lacking due to of no rain. As far as 2 1/2 bathrooms that has never been an issue for any families, even with large groups. Thanks for the positive review of features that you did enjoy.
House is beautiful!
We all commented that we are surprised anyone with a house so beautiful would rent it out. It is really gorgeous! It's relaxing with the hot tub, deck and stream behind it. The rooms are large and comfortable and definitely clean. Plenty of dishes and platters to serve your group if you cook. Private and yet close to Columbia Falls and Kalispell for supplies. You can't go wrong with this one!
Great location, amazing house
We LOVED our stay at Joan's house in Columbia Falls. We had a family of 8, and there was more than enough room for us. We loved watching the horses play by the creek from the hot tub in the evenings, and were just amazed at how beautiful the house was, very high quality build. The master bedroom is simply stunning! Joan is an outstanding host, and went out of her way to make sure we had a comfortable trip, and even met us in town on our way home to give us back some clothes that we accidentally left. She is great! The house is in a great location, only about 30 minutes to Lake McDonald. We encountered wild fires while we were there, but were able to adjust our plans and still enjoy ourselves with the rest of the scenery around the house and in the park. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting GNP :)
FIRST CLASS GEM !!
This home became a perfect base for a three generation family vacation, with a total of 14 people, ranging in age from 5 mos to just a bit younger than the glaciers. The location provides the unique balance of beautiful isolated privacy and convenience to Glacier National Park and nearby Columbia Falls. The home itself provided plenty of sleeping and family time space, including a spacious deck with hot tub; is meticulously maintained; and has an extremely well appointed modern kitchen. Top it off with gracious and helpful owners that really make you feel welcome, and the whole family enjoyed a remarkable Montana week !
No neighbors in this secluded location just 5 miles outside Columbia Falls. On a clear night the stars are abundant and the moon is bright. Close to Glacier National Park's West entrance, North Fork River for rafting or fishing, mountains for hiking, hunting, cross country skiing & snowmobiling. Summer is full of opportunities which ever way you turn off of the property. There are raft companies that will give you a guided tour or there are rafts you can rent to float the river by yourself. Floating the river by yourself is 15 minutes from our home. Guided horseback rides are available on the way to Glacier National Park or in Glacier National Park. Fishing equipment is available locally along with recommended poles and bait. Fishing on the river is right up the road. Hiking is available right from the property or very close for your pleasure. In the winter there is a local snow mobile company that will gear you us, pick you up, ride 1/2 day or full day on the backside of Big Mountain and then drop you off which is one mile from us. The local butcher shop in town that cuts meat daily, has it all is 10 minutes from us for all of your needs.
