Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, 4 Sleeps, Modern Close To Mt. Baker

Newly built, contemporary Mt. Baker Ski area cabin in great neighborhood. Enjoy a wood fire in the spacious, open concept living room/kitchen. This private, comfortable and cozy cabin is finished with quality materials and will make you want to come back again and again, we didn't want to leave.

The bedroom features a king size memory foam bed that will remind you of a luxury hotel. The bathroom bathroom boasts a custom tile shower and heated floors to keep your feet cozy in the morning. In the kitchen, we chose all stainless steel appliances and have stocked it with quality cookware so you can cook your own gourmet meals. Or, you can go to one of the local bars/restaurants in the small town of Glacier, just up the road. In the living room, there is a wood stove that keeps the entire cabin super warm with minimal effort and for entertainment, there is a digital media player with tons of movies already loaded (or you can bring your own on a USB drive) and an iPod dock for music.

In the summer, enjoy our large deck after a solid hike or mountain bike ride and if you have relatives with a camper, we have a perfect level parking spot with power and water.

For additional guests, the couch folds into a very comfortable full size bed with all of the appropriate bedding. We do want to keep the guest number to 4 people so the place stays nice for everyone.

There is a washer and drier for your laundry needs, as well as a drying rack by the wood stove for your mountain gear.

in the winter, Glacier is great for downhill skiing, world class powder at Mt. Baker, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. What people are discovering more and more, is all of the recreation possibilities in Glacier in the summer. Hiking, Mt. Biking, rafting, kayaking and dirt biking are just the beginning.

About Sara Bowen

We are a couple who has had seasons passes at Mt. Baker since 1991. We bought property in Glacier about 7 years ago and finally built this contemporary cabin and are ready to share it with you.

Sara Bowen purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Sara Bowen chose Glacier

We designed our cabin based on elements we loved in other properties we have stayed in or that our friends own. Since we started from scratch, we think it came out perfect, just as we imagined. We didn't skimp on the finishing, maple floors, solid surface counters, maple cabinets, custom shower, king bed, wood stove, etc. We had a vision and made it happen. We love the place and think you will too. When we stay here, we don't want to go back to our 'Real Home'.

What makes this cabin unique

We designed our cabin to provide a hotel/spa like experience. We thought about elements we love when staying in a nice hotel, large king be with nice sheets, heated bathroom floor with a large stand up shower, plenty of light an of course, a super cozy wood stove.

Also, Glacier is a stepping stone for so many activities. Of course there is Mt. Baker, the best ski area ever but that is just the start. Snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter and so many activities in the summer. Actually, the summer is getting more popular in Glacier than the winter. If you like down hill mountain biking, check Glacier out. Otherwise, river rafting/kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, biking and so much more.

Most quiet place on earth

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked this cabin for our honeymoon. We did not spend much time at the cabin due to seeing as much as possible in the area. However, every moment we did spend at the cabin was perfect. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. There were plenty of dishes and cooking ware to make some great meals. The washer and dryer worked great. Morning after morning we sat outside with our coffee and enjoyed the tranquility of the northern forest before heading out for the day.

Nearby hikes and a short trip to the sea for some kayaking made this stay even better. We slept 9+ hours every night and had days full of adventure. Great cabin.

A lovely mountain cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a well appointed property convenient to the sweet little village of Glacier yet in a quiet location. Close to great hiking. Just right for a mountain get away. We will be back for sure.

Great retreat from the city

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay, even if we never could see the top of Mt. Baker while out hiking. The cabin was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Our 2 year old asked to go back the next day (she liked exploring around the cabin, and the quiet streets were perfect for us walking and her riding her runner bike).

Overall it was perfect

  • 5 of 5

Family friendly, spacious, modern yet secluded, comfy. But there were a few very minor things we would like to mention. We picked up groceries on the way, but were surprised to find the cabin was without basics like salt, pepper, & cooking oil. There was a salt shaker that was completely empty, a pepper mill that had one single pepper corn, and an empty can of Pam. This did make cooking very challenging. We just poached our eggs; no problem.

Otherwise I would say that the owners are very good with detailed communication, very responsive to emails, the cabin is quite lovely, perfect location, perfect modern design, beautiful setting, wonderful view. Would definitely stay here again.

Incredible Place

  • 5 of 5

We timed the storm just right at Mt Baker this week but another great part of it was coming back to a great cabin. It was so relaxing here and the home had everything that we needed. The wood stove makes this place so warm. Great place!!!

An amazing getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here and it was just as great as I remembered it! It is really well maintained and the layout is perfect for a couples weekend getaway. We've been there now in the spring and in the winter and both times have been exceptional! We definitely will be back!
