Studio, 1 Bedroom, 1Bathroom (sleeps 4)

Located close to the famous Pathéon, Saint Germain and the gorgeous Luxembourg gardens, this large 35m2 studio has incredible charm with its white ceiling beams. Using the comfortable sofa bed, the studio is large enough to comfortably sleep 4 guests for less than a month. It is located on the 3rd floor and has been recently renovated in 2014.

Located in a stone building, the apartment has a wooden floor & nice wooden beams on the ceiling. It’s large window bathes the room in natural light and provides an open view on the beautiful buildings across the street.

On entering the apt, straight on the left a large corridor leads to a large room which is intelligently and tastefully decorated and separated into the living area, dining area and sleeping area.

The room offers:

• A living room area with comfortable convertible leather sofa for 2 and a low table,

• TV and a small stereo,

• A dining table with 4 chairs,

• A comfortable bed for two

Right of the entrance, rare in a studio, the standalone kitchen is fully equipped. It benefits from a window that allows for natural light.

The bathroom is nicely tiled and designed. It offers a shower, a sink & mirrors.

The toilet is located in a separate room but inside the apartment.

Right down the building are located many shops, bakeries, delies and more.

The apt location is a perfect base to visit Paris : based in the heart of the old Paris, at walking distance of the “Pantheon” where Victor Hugo, Voltaire and so many are buried, just 2 mn away from the great “Luxembourg” garden and the famous “boulevard Saint-Michel” where many students are.

The Saint Germain district is also at walking distance. The Sorbonne University, the famous Jardin des Plantes, the arenes de Lutece, and the Cluny Museum of Medieval arts are all steps away. Further south facing Notre Dame and the trendy Ile saint Louis with, at walking distance, the Marais where are the best clothes shops of Paris. Stroll along the banks of the Seine, enjoy a drink on one of the many barges or dance Tango in the “Tino Rossi” square in summer evening time.

It stays 10 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

Neighborhood :

- The Latin Quarter area and the neighbouring Saint Germain area are very lively and full of restaurants, cafés, Jazz clubs, cinemas and trendy shops.

- The Latin Quarter is a very lively area. Great apt, great location

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean, convenient to access (despite my arrival late at night) and in a perfect part of the city - with good local options for food and drinks nearby. I'd mention that there's a bit of noise from the street (limited, and to be expected in a big city) and I had to buy shampoo and soap. But I would definitely stay there again.

The property was exactly as advertised

  • 5 of 5

This property was just right for two people. The large number of stairs was a surprize. Another light fixture over the table would be a good thing.

The light for reading wasn't strong enough. Otherwise it was clean, tidy, handy in every way. We would certainly return because two weeks wasn't long enough

Best Two Weeks Ever

  • 4 of 5

Two of us stayed in this lovely apartment as our base for 2 week vacation. It was perfect for the 2 of us - absolutely comfortable bed, excellent working kitchen with good two-burner stove-top, EXCELLENT oven (we like to cook), adequate dishwasher and even a washing machine plus dryer-rack for laundry. A lovely window in the kitchen let in light; the window in front looks down on rue st. Jacques and the very sympathiques butchers and other stores across the street. Bathroom was wonderful, shower excellent, water pressure good. No elevator, so if you are carrying big cumbersome luggage, be prepared to walk up 4 flights of small narrow steps. We had no problem.

Great neighborhood -the students make it lively but do not overrun the location - lots of families and non-students in the open air markets and shopping for their meals midday. Students were not the noisemakers; the garbage collection at 5am literally sounded like they were assaulting and murdering garbage cans. But you get used to it!

Admin and paperwork all very professionally done, and very helpful information was provided in the apartment to operate everything from kitchen appliances to tv (too complicated for us, we never turned it on) to telephone. A nice small radio and cd player also enhanced our evening meals. Of course, tons of wonderful little stores, bistros, open air markets and attractions all over the neighborhood. The Pantheon became our landmark as we wandered miles and miles of Paris streets. Luxembourg gardens not far, rue Mouffetard with its shops nearby, the open air markets at Place Monge and Maubert alternate days. Lots of metro stops nearby to take you in any direction. We even took train/metro to and from CDG - very convenient.

Have been back in US 10 days not and have not yet received word about the security deposit. Assuming that is professionally handled, I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Owner's Response: Hi Catherine, Thanks for your very kind review. Just a word about the deposit refund : I checked, we refunded it 4 days after your check out. It sometimes happens that Paypal takes time to credit back your account or to see it appear on it. Hope to host you again in Paris ! Sincerely, JN

Charming studio in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The flat is small but well equipped, clean, and pretty. It is on the fourth floor American style, and the staircase is narrow and spiral--something to think about if you have any problems with mobility. But the bed was comfy, the windows over the street truly soundproof. A nice sofa to lie and read on and a shelf of interesting books made us feel quite at home. We made good use of the washing machine and the drying rack! The neighborhood is great--the butcher, grocer, baker and cheese-monger are right across the street, and there are good restaurants and cafes steps away. A short walk to the Seine, Luxembourg Gardens, the metro.

Lovely location, few things to know before you choose

  • 4 of 5

My friend and I stayed in the Pantheon apartment at the end of August for 5 nights Monday through Saturday.

The apartment is well laid out and has everything you need for your stay. Self check-in was easy and convenient. It has space for 4 people to sleep , but it is a small apartment so I feel like it's perfect for 2 people who each get their own bed and space to spread out their things. The location is lovely and I only wish I'd spent more time exploring the Saint Germain neighborhood nearby. There is a Pharmacie downstairs which is very convenient, and the woman who runs it is very helpful, but she doesn't speak any English, so that's worth keeping in mind. There are a number of little markets and bakeries and butchers on the street, and there is a Monoprix (kind of like a Target) is just a 5-10 min walk away. The apartment is just around the corner from the Pantheon, and that corner has a few little cafes and creperies with lovely views of both the Pantheon and the top of the Eiffel tower in the other direction.

Things to know:

-This apartment is a walk up--there is no elevator. The only time this was a challenge was when we had luggage, but you'll get used to it after that. Just good to know for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

-There is no A/C, which is typical for Paris apartments and likely only an issue the week we were there (during the heatwave when it was over 90 everyday). With both windows open, the breeze is good enough for sleeping.

-As others mention, the bar crowd is something to consider. We only heard them Friday night, and they were basically hanging out drinking and smoking right below the window until about 3. It wasn't an issue during the week, and would be less of an issue in cooler months with the windows closed. I also found that listening to music in my headphones drowned out that sound well enough for me.

-The shower area is only separated from the bed area by a curtain. If your travel companions are picky about privacy, it might be an issue. The toilet room has an actual door...just no sink or mirror.

-Note that you need to sort your trash when you leave! We didn't look at that until we were running out the door and that slowed us down a bit on check out.

Overall, would recommend this place to others and I would consider staying there again (though I like to choose a different area on each visit to the city when I can). This neighborhood was new to me and a lovely place to stay and explore.

Great location and very comfortable for 3 people.

  • 5 of 5

I rented this apartment for myself and my 2 young adult children for 8 days. It was conveniently located near a metro stop and several bus stops. The shops across the street were a delight for easy grocery shopping. The kitchen is well equipped. The shower had great water pressure. There is good air flow with both windows open however the bar crowd downstairs can be noisy at night. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and felt very safe. Loved the seeing all the old architecture in the area. Great area for young adults. Many attractions within walking distance.
