About Bob or Peggy Oxford
We first came to Makaha in 1979. Since then 3 generations of our family have come every year to enjoy paradise. It's a wonderful change of pace from our home in Colorado.
Bob or Peggy Oxford purchased this Condo in 2005
Why Bob or Peggy Oxford chose Mākaha Valley
The Leeward Coast of Oahu is truly Hawaiian, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, but near enough to visit Pearl Harbor, the Punch Bowl, Bishops Museum, the USS Arizona Memorial, the Flea Market at Aloha Stadium. and good food and big waves on the North Shore, all within 60 minutes.
What makes this Condo unique
The view of the mountain across the valley as the sun rises is a joy we love to share with each other and those that come here as our guests. Or a 5 minute drive or 40 minute walk brings us to a small Makaha beach where the green sea turtles come daily to bask.

Clean, cool room with gorgeous views of Makaha Valley and the ocean and beyond.
Although a bit dated, Makaha towers is a nice property with beautiful landscaping and views of the valley and ocean. The staff in the office and on the grounds were very nice and accommodating. Security is tight at the front gate but we totally understand why this is necessary. Due to the hurricane watch - the pool was closed the duration of our stay. That is unfortunate since the weather remained beautiful throughout that time. We believe the pool should have been opened once the weather service downgraded the storm warnings. I would suggest upgrading the beach toys and chairs to better quality, newer items. If there is a bigger storage closet available I would highly recommend using that. Linens, extra bedding & other supplies available were greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Jen, for the review. We have been in the Towers since 1979. The beautiful grounds have been meticulously groomed throughout that time, as has the friendly service of the management. We think it is a classic property that has not aged. We try to keep our condo interior updated and equipped. The beach equipment that is stored in the outside closet is sometimes a little tattered and worn because previous guests have not cleaned it after use. We are only there 4 months out of the year so are not able to check it after each use by guests. We take your suggestions to heart and will try to improve.

Clean, safe and quiet accommodations.
The property and accommodations were terrific. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I certainly would recommend this place, especially if you want a quiet restful vacation. The only reason I gave it a four is because it is a drive up that western shore. It could easily take 45 minutes to an hour to get down close to the city.
From a distance my daughter was saying it look like it needs to be torn down.
From a distance a long distance from the highway before we turned off into the valley my daughter was saying it look like it needs to be torn down. But the closer we got the better it looked. We were pleased with our stay, very comfortable. There was the occasional motorcycle but that was in the other area outside the condo. We had one hiccup that was not the condos fault. The rental car company gave us a car that had expired tags. The condo would not let us keep it there and we took it back to the rental company and then returned to the condo. But burned up most of our day and I wasn't pleased with the rental car company. We like the peacocks that are on the property. They did wake me up but that's okay, they're beautiful birds. The rules are strict at the condo but that's understandable otherwise it would not be long before it turned into a military barracks with all the Riff Raff that comes with it.
Owners helpful, property pleasant, be prepared for weird security protocols
This property is well situated for the leeward coast (worth visiting just to do the swim with wild side specialty tours ) ; the apartment is pleasant with good views over the valley, and the owners very obliging and helpful.
Whilst the security folks are pleasant, getting into the place reminds me of clearing checkpoint charlie into east berlin. The protocol is unlike anything I have encountered, is unecessarily intrusive and frankly off-putting, and the reason I do not give 5*
Great stay in Makaha Towers
Staying in Makaha was very relaxing
The condo was very cozy and equipped with everything we needed including toilet paper and paper towels. We used the beach chairs, cooler and boogie board
Went went to stay in waikiki for the last part of our stay and kept wishing I was back in Makaha relaxing on the beach. Would definetly stay there again!
Thank you for staying with us in Makaha Valley Towers, Sue and Scott. We appreciate your comparison of Makaha with Waikiki. We look forward to your return to the Waianae Coast.
