About Bob or Peggy Oxford
We first came to Makaha in 1979. Since then 3 generations of our family have come every year to enjoy paradise. It's a wonderful change of pace from our home in Colorado.
Bob or Peggy Oxford purchased this Condo in 2005
Why Bob or Peggy Oxford chose Mākaha Valley
The Leeward Coast of Oahu is truly Hawaiian, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, but near enough to visit Pearl Harbor, the Punch Bowl, Bishops Museum, the USS Arizona Memorial, the Flea Market at Aloha Stadium. and good food and big waves on the North Shore, all within 60 minutes.
What makes this Condo unique
The view of the mountain across the valley as the sun rises is a joy we love to share with each other and those that come here as our guests. Or a 5 minute drive or 40 minute walk brings us to a small Makaha beach where the green sea turtles come daily to bask.

Great stay on the West coast
Our family had a great stay at this condo in August. The condo location and grounds are very unique tucked into the valley with a less than 5 min drive to beautiful, quiet beaches and gorgeous natural scenery. Grounds and pool are great. Yes there is security which was nice for us with having a small child and a car to secure. Condo has everything you need and Bob is great to deal with. Bit off the beaten path on the West coast so make sure to have a car to get to town and the beaches. Honolulu is not far away for day trips, shopping, etc.
Thank Shane. You and your family were an ideal guest, and very patient.

From a distance my daughter was saying it look like it needs to be torn down.
From a distance a long distance from the highway before we turned off into the valley my daughter was saying it look like it needs to be torn down. But the closer we got the better it looked. We were pleased with our stay, very comfortable. There was the occasional motorcycle but that was in the other area outside the condo. We had one hiccup that was not the condos fault. The rental car company gave us a car that had expired tags. The condo would not let us keep it there and we took it back to the rental company and then returned to the condo. But burned up most of our day and I wasn't pleased with the rental car company. We like the peacocks that are on the property. They did wake me up but that's okay, they're beautiful birds. The rules are strict at the condo but that's understandable otherwise it would not be long before it turned into a military barracks with all the Riff Raff that comes with it.
Owners helpful, property pleasant, be prepared for weird security protocols
This property is well situated for the leeward coast (worth visiting just to do the swim with wild side specialty tours ) ; the apartment is pleasant with good views over the valley, and the owners very obliging and helpful.
Whilst the security folks are pleasant, getting into the place reminds me of clearing checkpoint charlie into east berlin. The protocol is unlike anything I have encountered, is unecessarily intrusive and frankly off-putting, and the reason I do not give 5*
Great stay in Makaha Towers
Staying in Makaha was very relaxing
The condo was very cozy and equipped with everything we needed including toilet paper and paper towels. We used the beach chairs, cooler and boogie board
Went went to stay in waikiki for the last part of our stay and kept wishing I was back in Makaha relaxing on the beach. Would definetly stay there again!
Thank you for staying with us in Makaha Valley Towers, Sue and Scott. We appreciate your comparison of Makaha with Waikiki. We look forward to your return to the Waianae Coast.
Bob And Peggy
We stayed in the place in January of 2018 for full 4 weeks. We loved our experience. Bob and Peggy was very friendly and helpful. Some of the unit's appliances could use an update. Overall: very positive experience.
Colorful and well-appointed condo.
The contract we received initially had the incorrect charges on it, so we called the owner to get a new contract. We thought, "Well, that could happen to anyone." When we got on-island, we found that the code to get into the condo had not been e-mailed with any of our information from the owner, so we called for the code. We thought, "Well, that would be easy enough to overlook." When we got to the door of the condo with the code and found that there was no key in the key box and that condo security could not let us in, once again we called the owner. We waited on the doorstep for about an hour until the cleaning woman showed up to let us in. The condo (#713) was clean and had most everything that we needed for our 4-day stay. The decor is colorful with mirrors throughout the condo. We appreciated the use of the beach towels and the small cooler for carrying drinks to the beach. As others have noted, the peacocks can be loud if you sleep with the doors open. We didn't find them particularly intrusive, but the air brakes and back-up beeping of the garbage trucks and city buses starting at 4:45 AM each morning did get old. All in all, we had a pleasant stay here.
Makaha Beach is a world-class surfing beach with numerous competion events. Turtles bask on a small beach in Makaha and Pokai Bay beach provides low surf for swimming. Mountains provide a 3000' backdrop for Makaha Valley and Yokahama Beach at the end of Farrington Road..
