Lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in quiet, residential Uptown neighborhood convenient to everything.

Newly renovated with hardwood floors, eleven foot ceilings, ceiling fans, central air and heat, wireless internet, 37' LCD HD flat screen TV, washer, dryer, gas stove, microwave, balcony overlooking charming New Orleans street. Parking available on street.

The apartment is on the second floor of a Victorian house. You enter into the living room which is open to the dining area and the kitchen. In the front of the house is one bedroom which opens onto the balcony. In the back is the second bedroom. There is complete privacy because unlike so many New Orleans houses you do not have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other bedroom or to the bathroom. Our bathroom is located off the living room. The apartment is comfortably furnished with a queen size bed in each of the spacious bedrooms and a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. There is a dining table which seats six. There are lots of windows and natural light.

The location is excellent: three blocks to St. Charles Avenue with the street car for a ride downtown to the French Quarter or uptown to Audubon Park, Tulane University and Loyola University. The apartment is three to six blocks to the Mardi Gras parades on Napoleon and St. Charles and ten short blocks to Magazine to see the Muses among other parades. Cafes and restaurants are as close as around the corner or only a few blocks away. Magazine Street with all its restaurants and boutiques is within several blocks as are a drug store and a grocery store. Freret Street, also a few blocks away, has a monthly festival as well as many new and exciting restaurants.

Among our favorites just around the corner is a Il Posto, a European café which is great for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner. Two blocks away are Charlie’s steakhouse and Pascal’s Manale, a seafood restaurant. Manhattan Jack, which just opened a couple of months ago, has the best bagels in New Orleans as well as all sorts of other wonderful baked good, sandwiches and weekend brunch. The list of great places to eat in New Orleans is endless. We live downstairs and are available to answer questions or to offer suggestions.

This is a wonderful place to stay for your visit to New Orleans and enjoy all the fun and charm of this unique city!

Why Pat chose Uptown-Carrollton

We chose this property because we liked the neighborhood and it was close to our family here. We have since decided it is the best place to live in NOLA. It is so convenient to everything and we rarely use our car. We also love the character and charm of our house and of the neighborhood.

What makes this apartment unique

Great central location for living like a local

My husband and I stayed here for a vacation with our almost one year old daughter. We had no complaints, and would definitely recommend this apartment to family and friends. The owners even found some clothes we left in the dryer and mailed them back to us! Here are our pros & cons:

Pros:

-Great location! Short walk to St Charles streetcar line. We got around to the French Quarter, Garden District, Magazine St., and the zoo by either streetcar, walking, or Uber. We also liked being in a nice residential neighborhood - made us feel like we lived there and not just like tourists. Nearby streets are relatively quiet and contain lots of pretty houses. And we were just a few blocks from a Mardi Gras parade route!

-Perfect size and layout for parents & kids - rooms are on opposite sides of the apartment.

-Owners are very accommodating. They provided us an extra chair to work with our highchair, coordinated with the company we rented a crib from for pickup, and sent us the items we left behind. They also had lots of recommendations in the apartment for local places to eat!

Cons (these are really all minor...):

-Kitchen was basic if that matters to you. We came to NOLA to eat out, so we didn't mind!

-Bed could have been a little more comfortable.

-Bathroom has a pedestal sink and we prefer a vanity to spread out our toiletries.

Overall we were very happy with our choice to book this property!

Amazing apartment :)

Recently stayed in this apartment during Mardi Gras and couldn't have been happier

The owners were friendly and the proximity to the parades was perfect

The only downside we had was the people staying in the other apartment :(

Relaxing on the balcony and being squirted by their children playing with water pistols

But couldnt fault the owners or the apartment

PERFECT!!

Very pleased. I will definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed here over the weekend. It had plenty of room for a family of 6, plus a toddler. It was a great place away from everything that you can come back to and rest in between activities. The rates were very reasonable. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

Cute purple house!

We enjoyed staying in this rental last weekend. It is fairly centrally located to St. Charles St. There was plenty of on street parking in front of the house and out front was a tiny little library. The apartment had everything you could need, including plenty of towels and linens. This was the perfect size for 2 couples or for a small family. It was great having a unit next door where our friends stayed. I would definitely recommend staying in this house if your trip is for a wedding or family reunion weekend.
