About Linda Drake
My husband and I live in Oneonta. I have been a local person all my life. I went to school in Cooperstown and I went to college in Oneonta. I am a bank of information for directions and fun things to do around here. We love to travel and I have some of my photographs in the house. I hope you enjoy them.
Linda Drake purchased this House in 1981
Why Linda Drake chose Oneonta
I raised my three children in this home. We have wonderful memories that were made here. I've always welcomed everyone in my house. I hope to welcome you. I have made the home cozy and comfortable for you. Oneonta is a great place to live. I have traveled all over the world, yet, we chose to live here.
What makes this House unique
Once you wind your way down the streets to the house, one forgets that you are in the city of Oneonta. My children learned to ride bikes on the dead end street. It was a place that they could run and play outside and I didn't have to worry about them. This house was where all their friends were welcome and family happened here! My grown children are excited that I have started this project and I am opening up our home so others can enjoy it. Oneonta and surroundings offers a lot of entertainment. Some examples are: Oneonta Tigers (minor league baseball team) games in the park down the road, two beautiful parks, Orpheus Theatre, Franklin Play Company, Glimmerglass Opera, many small lakes to visit, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame (of course), The Farmer's Museum, The Fennimore House, and much more!!!!!!!!!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The house is located fairly close to All Star Village and many local restaurants and shops. The house was clean and worked well for our stay. Owner was very responsive.
A Week at All Star Village
Great stay while we were watching my son at Cooperstown All Star Village. So nice to have a house to come back to after a long day at the field! The kitchen, grill and washer and dryer were life savers. Would definitely recommend!
Clean and convenient
We stayed at Drake’s Escape while our son was at Cooperstown All Star Village, a 10 minute drive away. The house was immaculate and provided the comforts of home while we were there. Conveniently located near shopping and restaurants with a beautiful neighborhood for my nightly walk. Linda was very responsive to us during our stay and was an excellent host. Highly recommended property!
Convenient for All-Star Village
We had a good stay at this property. It was convenient to All-Star Village, had a big backyard, good wi-fi and was very clean. Linda was responsive and easy to deal with.
Clean and comfortable home
Linda was kind enough to rent us her home when we needed someplace closer to stay for SUNY's graduation weekend. This is an older home, which I love, but was modernized and well appointed with all the comforts of home, including fast internet, and a newer bathroom with shower on the first floor. The home was very clean, and quite roomy. While located in a quiet area of town, it is minutes away from the colleges, Main Street and shopping areas. It was a pleasure renting from Linda, and I would not hesitate to do so again should our travels take us back to Oneonta in the future.
I am very happy that you could stay at Drake's Escape while attending your daughter's graduation! We try and have everything our guests need. Please feel free to stay again in the future!
Great Oneonta location, clean and comfortable!
Convenient location to downtown Oneonta, located in a quiet neighborhood. The house was clean and comfortable. Roomy for a family or group. We traveled with our one year old son to meet friends, and appreciated a high chair that was made available. With a fully equipped kitchen and linens, it was a perfect home away from home!
I’m very happy you enjoyed your stay. We realize you had many choices and are thrilled you choose to stay at Drake’s Escape! Please remember us next time your in the area. We’d love to have you again!
There are many unique museums within 20 min.-30 min. away; Farmer's Museum, Fenimore Art Museum (includes an Indian museum), Baseball Hall of Fame, and Hannaford Mills Museum to name a few. We are in the country surrounded with land and farms...lots of hiking and many small lakes for your enjoyment. Oneonta is called, "the city of the hills." The scenery is beautiful in the summer and the foliage in the fall is unbeatable! Come experience our cozy town.
