Whispering Pines Mountain Hideaway is the perfect family vacation destination. Bordering Rocky Mountain National Park and situated on 6 acres, the house is surrounded by forest and beautiful rock formations. Overlooking the Tahosa Valley, and with no neighbors in sight, you can hike, enjoy the wrap around deck, wander down to the stream at the base of the property or just relax in the house sitting by a fire, reading a book, playing games or watching television. Need to check your computer occasionally? Don’t worry, WiFi is available as well.
Want to enjoy the mountains, but not be “stuck” in the mountains? Whispering Pines is perfect. Secluded, it is also only 8 miles from downtown Estes Park where dining, shopping, entertainment and all kinds of activities are available. And if you haven’t visited Estes Park before, you will love it. Simply visit our website and click on our Estes Park link where you can see what activities are going on while you’re there.
Do you prefer to hike, fish, golf or even horseback ride? All these activities are available nearby. And if you are the type that would rather visit local art shops or historical places, such activities are available nearby as well. The greatest aspect of Whispering Pines Mountain Hideaway is that you can be as busy, or as relaxed, as you want.
And when you do choose to be at home, we provide all the essential comforts that you will need. Relax by the fire in the living room, watch TV, play games in the dining room or take an inviting nap in one of the comfortable beds that await you. Want to enjoy a home cooked meal? Our kitchen is ready for you, unless you would prefer to eat on the deck and enjoy the mountain scenery.
We love our home. We know you will too. We hope you will come and visit us during your next stay in the Estes Park area.
Note: This facility is available from March through October. It is not available during the winter owing to the unpredictability of the weather and the difficulty in driving up the mountain in deep snow. If snowy conditions are forecast, even in early spring, guests are required to drive a four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle.
As former educators and recent transplants from Southern California, we were smitten by our visit to the gorgeous Rocky Mountain National Park. Desiring to share the beauty of this area with friends and acquaintances, we purchased Whispering Pines. The cabin sits on the edge of the national park and is surrounded by pine trees that indeed whisper in the cool morning or evening breezes. It truly is a “hideaway” from the pressures of daily living.
As new owners, we pledge our best to make your stay both special and memorable. We recommend you visit our web site to see the property as well as learn of the many fun activities that abound in the area.
We look forward to hearing from you as you plan your next vacation.

We love to share the beauty of the Rocky Mountains with friends and guests. Many of our guests come from flatland states that are hot during the summer. They are 'blown away' by the fresh, cool air and the majesty of the mountains that abound in elk, moose, mountain goats, and a bear or two.
Visitors love the wrap around deck with a view of the pine trees and surrounding mountains overseeing the lovely Tahosa Valley. Truly a unique place to stay if you wish to get away from the maddening crowds. The lovely city of Estes Park is a bonus... and, of course, the wonderful Rocky Mountain National Park is a cherry on the top of a great experience!

This place was "as advertised". A good value. Stayed a week. Coming from Texas, the view was fantastic and the house comfortable for 10. 6 adults, 4 boys. Other reviews say the same thing.
Convenient to Estes Park downtown and restaurants. Did horseback rides, hiking, jeep tours etc. For the end of July we also had GREAT weather the entire week.
After years of camping in the Rockies, we've found it necessary to make the switch to renting cabins/homes in the Rockies. The location of this house is perfect because it made us feel like we were "away from it all." The property is secluded with great climbing and exploring opportunities. We loved the little stream. The house had everything we needed plus amazing views. The two living areas were nice to have. The dining room surrounded by windows was my favorite place.
The Hamiltons are wonderful hosts providing every amenity you could need! The property and view of Longs Peak and surrounding peaks is amazing! The house is a bit secluded as it takes about 7 min to get from the home to the main highway and then another 10-15 minutes to get into Estes. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded place, this is the place for you! If you plan to spend time traveling in and out of the city or to many different destinations you may want to be closer to action.
I planned a guys retreat in the mountains and this cabin was a hit! It has all the amenities and room for 7-9 people comfortably. There is a lot of great thing to do in Estes park and the cabin is just far enough away from town to be secluded in the mountains. The cabin has amazing views, plenty to explore, and all the comforts of home you could need. I would highly recommend Whispering Pines for anyone looking for a great secluded get away spot, especially for an outdoor enthusiast. In addition, Howard the owner was extremely friendly and easy to work with. This cabin was worth every penny and if you are reading this review, just book it!
Absolutely fantastic place to stay and some of the kindest people we have ever met. Beautiful views and beautiful home. Very quiet and secluded, but close enough to town for groceries, etc. Great split floor plan - good for separation of 2 parties if needed. By far the most well stocked home we have ever seen!
If you're wondering if you should stay here my answer is absolutely! The Hamiltons have a great house that is fully stocked and are very kind & accommodating!
Our last vacation was in Florida and the house was dirty, not stocked & the management company left much to be desired. We would not stay there again and honestly it made me a little scared of renting through VRBO/Home Away again; however the Hamiltons gave us faith again. :)
The views and surrounding property are spectacular and while the house may be a little dated, it is in fantastic shape & very comfortable. One thing to be aware of is to know that this place is secluded and so to get to it you have to travel on a road that is very narrow, winding & with a steep grade so make sure you have a vehicle that can take it. My 6 cylinder Ford Fusion did a good job, but it was a little rough on her; next time we'll bring our 4x4 pick up. But even so, we had a wonderful 1st Anniversary and wouldn't change a thing!!
Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park are definitely worth the trip! It's such a beautiful area of Colorado!!
Howard & Karleen, thank you again so very much for everything. If we come to Estes Park again we'll definitely be looking you up and you may be hearing from my parents for a stay!
