Our home is designed to be very open and spacious that can really utilize and capture natural light. Cape Cod is a very aesthetically beautiful place and we tried to bring the warm and comforting Cape Cod feel to a more modern home. We’ve really tried to utilize our outdoor areas by including large decks, balconies and a screened in porch. Since our home is located atop a little hill there is always a nice breeze coming through. One of my favorite things to do is start my morning with a cup of coffee on one of these outdoor features. The sun is always shining and the birds are always chirping. The kitchen has been recently redone along with the addition. There are large marble counter-tops and finished mahogany cabinets. It includes two wall-mounted ovens, a large Sub-Zero refrigerator and a large island/stovetop. There are many windows, again to capture all the natural light, that overlook the front yard. There is a lot of space within the kitchen and adjacent sun room that really allows the whole family to socialize and take part in your various cooking escapades. The adjacent rooms are the dining room and living room. This is one open room featuring two large sliding glass doors and another French door accessing the screened in porch.
My favorite room is the sunroom that connects the existing house to the addition. It has two French doors on each side and is by far the lightest and warmest room in the house. This is a great room to take a nap, socialize with whomever is cooking in the kitchen or plan your next adventure for the day! Pushing deeper into the addition you will find a small alcove with two futon beds. This is a nice little reading area. Further on we have one of the three recently redone bathrooms that features a large-tiled shower. Up the stairs on the addition side is the large master studio with high vaulted ceilings. This room has a lot of room, sitting area, counter space with a sink, and access to two of the balconies (one of which looks down into Blackfish Creek).
Passing over the sunroom on the other balcony you can connect to one of the three spacious, high-ceilinged bedrooms from the existing house. The three rooms feature large storage space, two queen beds and one king. The master bedroom has a renovated bathroom and shower and the other two bedrooms share another recently renovated bathroom with a tub. The master bedroom also has access to another balcony with stairs leading down towards the screened in porch and side-yard.
An irrigation system has been recently added to the home as well as lush green carpets of grass. Barbecues are a must, especially with the sun setting through the trees. There is also a large outdoor shower, another Cape Cod must have.
The neighborhood is very peaceful and we’re very close with all of our neighbors. If you’re feeling inclined to do so, you can go for a run through the neighborhood as it is a large circle of approximately 0.85 miles in diameter. Or you could run down to the end of Old Wharf to the beach, take a dip and run back home to the outdoor shower.
To recap, the design of the home is meant to be very spacious, open and welcoming. Included are:
o One master bedroom
o Three additional bedrooms one being a large suite with sitting/study/TV area
o Alcove with two futons
- Three newly finished bathrooms
- Outdoor shower
- Large ground floor deck patio
- Three second floor decks
- Three balconies
- Screened in porch
- Large modern kitchen
- Dining room and adjacent living room
- Sun room
I am an architect and designed my Wellfleet home to take full advantage of the site. The house is situated to have the best sun exposure on all sides. There is a large window on the south-east corner that brings in the best light while the north-west exposure looks onto Black Fish Creek. Even on an over cast or rainy day, the spaces are pleasant to be in.

Wellfleet is a lovely small town with a character of its' own. There are many art galleries, ocean and bay beaches, ponds, and nature walks. My neighborhood has many year round local residents therefore you will be staying in a quiet family environment.
This will be your summer home where you can gather with family and friends in a warm setting. Whether you are headed for the beach, for a walk, relaxing on the deck with a book, cooking in the gourmet kitchen, or working in the studio during your vacation, you will feel comfort and serenity.
Wellfleet and The Lower Cape are filled with a variety of activities to keep the whole family entertained. Wellfleet and the Lower Cape are a paragon for what you’d want and expect Cape Cod to be. The beautiful beaches and views are breathtaking, the local food is amazing, and the culture on the Cape is something else!
