Great for Families
Point of View is a great place for families. When we arrived, the cottage was clean and well organized. Plenty of space for a large family. The kitchen has everything needed for family meals. We enjoyed using the Gas grill on the deck. The deck is shaded for most of the day! The lake is shallow, with a sand bottom. Great for small children. We had a great week in the 90’s. Katrina is a great host!
We will be back!
The house was in great condition with a lot of extras that made it move in ready. The layout was perfect for us with plenty of room to spread out and for additional guests. The lake itself was really nice, not too busy, and had great sunsets. We had a great vacation.
Great Getaway on a Great Lake
Beautiful home that had everything you could want and more. Rooms are spacious and it was nice having a bathroom on every floor. There was plenty to do inside when the weather didn't cooperate. The extra fridge in the basement was handy. Perfect days of coffee on the deck in the morning and smores by the campfire at night.
Lake had a nice sandy bottom for swimming right by the dock. Although it's a public lake it felt private. Very quiet and only a few boats on it during the week. Caught catfish right off the dock. There is a convenient store/gas station on the lake. Nice to gas up your boat and grab an ice cream cone!
Owner was very responsive to questions to ensure we had what we needed. Great experience!
Large beautiful home! We had a wonderful time, with plenty of space for everyone.
Property was so nice just as described. The area was great and looked like so much fun. It was freezing the weekend we went but still some die-hards in our group went fishing and loved it. The owner was responsive and accommodating. Especially when we asked for a later check out due to mother's day. Great responsiveness! The only issue was the burdensome checkout instructions which we did receive in advance but didn't realize how much to do until time to leave. I have been renting private homes whenever I go on vacation for well over 10 years so I am used to a certain amount of work. However we have never experienced one to this level. To be asked to clean all dishes and pots and return them to the shelves they came from is more than any place. In addition the most difficult was to return all blankets, furniture and throw pillows to their exact position was hard because we didn't think to take a picture of the room before we used it. Furniture return was easy but which throw pillows went where and which blanket was on which chair impossible to remember after being there a couple of days. Return the tv to the exact settings they were when you arrived, it frankly made for stressful check out trying to make sure you did everything on the list. I thought you paid a cleaning fee to take care of this part. Wonderful home just a lot of work with an early check out. Don't know how all of it can be done before 11 if you want to eat breakfast before you leave.
Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. I also am very happy that you had a nice weekend, despite the colder weather, and the issues with the check-out procedures.
In response to your observations on my check-out procedures, please know those were put into place after experiencing guests who actually moved around furniture, even from one floor to the next. There are also examples of guests who after having connected their gaming devices to the TV equipment (of which is fine to do), they just left it that way without reconnecting the TV back to its normal configuration. For these reasons, and many other examples of which I will not elaborate, is the rationale for my check-out instructions. Please know that putting the TV back to whatever channel it was on when you arrived was not the intent, or having the throw pillows as you found them, is also not the intent, but rather leaving the couch where you found, and the TV properly connected was my goal. :) Having said all of that, I will certainly review my instructions to see how they can be better worded to be more clear based on your interpretation.
Normally, (especially during the summer) there is a limited time between guests departures and arrivals, and, quite honestly, it takes all of that time to clean my large 3 level home, leaving very little time for extra things as described above.
Again, I certainly appreciate your business and your comments! Thank you very much and have a great summer!
Kc's Point of View is nestled in Amish countryside situated in the tri-state area -- MI, OH, & IN, with activities in each direction. Take a day and visit Shipshewana, IN and see for yourself how the Amish and Mennonites live, & enjoy a great meal at the Blue Gate Restaurant while you are there. Swing past Pokeagon State Park, Angola, IN where there are always many activities. Have dinner at Timbuktoo's, Fremont, IN, or stop at the Amish Bakery in Camden, MI. There's also the Sports Bar in Camden that's good too. If you like this listing, please see KC's Cove in Gulf Shores, (Fort Morgan area), Alabama; VRBO #498739.
For you car buffs; the Auburn Cord Dusenberg Automotible Museum is not a far drive, and neither is the Gilmore Car Museum, Hickory Corners, MI (Battle Creek), or the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, IN.
What about you race fans? KC's is the perfect retreat during race season as the MI Int'l Speedway is just an hour away in Brooklyn, MI.
It goes without saying, but this area has great hunting (one of the top counties in MI for # of deer), fishing (perch, walleye), swimming, sunbathing, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, biking, and hiking are all just outside the door, with restaurants, golfing, horseback riding and other activities just minutes to a 1/2 hour away.
If you like wine tasting tours, you are in the right place. Several wineries are conveniently located within a half hours (+/-) drive (Satek and Briali Wineries in Fremont, IN; Stoney Ridge in Bryan, OH; and Cherry Creek Cellars, Albion, MI), as well as the outlet mall for the shoppers in your group just outside of Fremont, IN--you must stop at the Pickle Factory outlet store, and you can even take a tour of the pickle factory an hour or so away. Sauder Village is just down the toll road I-80/90 (which is very convenient) What about stopping in at Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, Fremont, IN? For those history buffs, you will not want to leave until you have visited the local Hopewell Indian Burial Mounds just a short 15 minutes away with the tri-state marker and Lake Las Su An Wildlife perserve a little further on down the road in Ohio.
How about canoeing the St Joseph River which boards right south of Pioneer, OH....minutes away......What fun!
Go for lunch at The Hunt Club in Hillsdale, MI, but you can not leave until you have stopped in at H.J. Gelzer & Son Furniture Store, just a block away. You might think they are just a furniture store, but-- oh my -- they are so much more. The ladies will love touring the 3 floors of kitchen, gifts, furnishings, pictures, and so much more.
But when it comes right down to it, you will probably just want to stay put at KC's and enjoy the relaxing, laid back atmosphere -- read a book, lounge on the deck, play a game of pool or ping pong, float in the lake, fish off the pier, wade in the shallow water next to the shoreline, or just sit and sip your favorite drink and enjoy the view. KC's is just plain comfortable and offers a spectacular view of the lake from just about any angle.
About owner/property manager
Being a transplant in MI from Mobile, AL years ago; KC loves the water! What can be said except KC wanted a place right by the water for adults, for children, but it had to be close to home and work, as well as an all season home; just to get away even if it is for just a day or two, six or thirty days! :) The children are all grown and gone, so now it's time to rent. Need more be said? Thanks for booking with KC's and treating our home like you would your own home! Nicely! Very nicely!
owner/property manager purchased this House in 1997
Why owner/property manager chose Camden
MI is the 'Great Lakes State,' and also boasts 100's of small inland lakes -- Lake Diane being one of them. KC needed and wanted a big/little lake which was 'just right' for KC and the pontoon boat (not included). At times, it's quiet, serene, beautiful, and other times it is a frenzy of fun--whatever the occasion, KC is on vacation even though it is a short hike away. Once you turn onto the dirt road leading to KC's you know you are on vacation. It's exciting -- yet relaxing. It's home -- but not. There are 'always' great times associated with any time spent at KC's. KC hopes you can experience all the fun, memories, and relaxing times -- boat rides on a Friday late summer evening after a long week's work; sipping your favorite drink while watching the sun melt down over the lake; or seeing the water turn pink, purple, and other beautiful colors as the sun slides down over the horizon; hearing the Canadian geese flying overhead, or watching the Great Blue Heron strike a pose while he is fishing for the latest catch. Why this property? All of those reasons, plus more! KC loves Lake Diane!
What makes this House unique
Lake Diane offers many unique attributes. In the peak of summer, you have the perfect view of the lake to witness the frenzy of boaters, skiing, jet skiing, pontoons, water slides, Tiki huts, bikinis, sunshades, sun tan lotion, chaise lounges, frozen beverages, fire works....and then you hear the clippity clop of a horse drawn Amish carriage carrying a husband, wife, and several children coming around the bend and stopping to sell you their fresh baked goods, fresh eggs, cheese, or wooden wares. Such a contrast to lake life---but fun to meet the very friendly Amish and the items they sell are delicious too! Why did KC fall in love with this area? Maybe is was the lake views, the lake atmosphere, just being on the water, or the unique Amish touch? Who really knows, but it's probably all of this plus more! Book now and find out why you will love renting KC's Point of View!
