ROME ITALY PERFECT DANZA APARTMENT
Danza is a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment well located in the heart of one of Rome's most loved historic centers. Guests can enjoy walking to many Rome attractions, including the Vatican, the Colosseum, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, as well as shopping along via Giubonari and via Coronari.
Concierge, driver and tour services.
The apartment is on the top floor of a small 1500's apartment building with wonderful views from the rooftop terrace as well as 'Juliet' balconies off the living and dining rooms. The building has a small elevator to the top floor as well as an original stairwell. Danza is comfortable and adequately furnished with a casual simple style of decor, but very spacious and well laid out. Another original feature is the lovely terracotta floors.
The apartment has an open entry foyer. The large living room is immediately to the left. French doors at the far end enhance the room. From the living room enjoy views of the side of the church and the ever-changing scene down below of this small, inviting piazza.
The living room is casually furnished with a sofa,, an armchair and padded chair, glass coffee table, flat screen TV. It's not fancy, just basic, serviceable furniture good for the vacation renter who wants a sunny, well laid-out, appealing terraced apartment a super-central location. To the right of the living room step into the full dining room, with its wonderful original checkerboard tiles. It's nice that they've been preserved as the add a special touch to the room. The dining table has seating for six.
Retrace your steps back through the living room to find the attractive kitchen off to the right of the foyer. Handsome honed marble counter tops and a large stone farmhouse sink maintain the apartment's authentic character. The kitchen has a small table with seating for two. A large window admits lots of light. There is a full refrigerator, freezer section, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
Directly ahead off the foyer is the first bedroom. The bedrooms are towards the back of the apartment, facing away from the street, a good feature in a thriving city like Rome where street noise from passersby and motor scooters is a given. Ahead and to the right is the first bedroom with two twin beds and adjoining bathroom. The beds can be joined to form a queen-sized bed. Built-in closets and cupboards line one wall providing lots of storage for clothes, luggage. There is a small window above the beds. The en suite bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the quiet back-building area and rooftops. There is an antique dresser and small closet. Just outside this bedroom is the second bathroom with a bathtub with shower, sink, toilet. A small eyebrow window over the tub is a cute feature.
If your interest in the Danza apartment isn't already piqued, here comes the best part. The terrace! Straight ahead off the entry foyer is a stairway leading up to a small open office area (who can work with views like these?) which leads out to the enchanting terrace. Imagine starting your day in Rome with a cup of espresso, the sound of seagulls flying overhead and views of Roman rooftops and church domes! Can you figure out the churches for the five domes you can see from the terrace? There is a patio table with seating for four. The canvas awing provides shade. In the evening wander back upstairs for cocktail hour and enjoy the sounds of church bells tolling at sunset or watch waves of tiny swallows swooping and diving through the sky at twilight.

This is a comfortable apartment in a really super location. Just steps from all the best sights of Rome (Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, Campo Fiori, even Colisem...). The apartment was in good condition. The welcome was professional. I recommend this apartment and Rome;-)
Thank you so much! Please come again.
Extraordinary apartment in Rome
This place is perfect. Amazing location near Campo Del Fiori, beautiful decor, extremely comfortable - air conditioning is great. Terrace is gorgeous. This place is pricey, but worth every penny.
We love that location, too! So glad you enjoyed. The Italy Perfect Team.
Campo de Fiori review
Our overall impression of the property was good. The best attribute of this property is its location. From this location you are only a:
- 5 minute walk to the River Tiber and a nice running path along the river
- 5 minute walk to two fairly well stocked markets (American Mini Market and Punto Simply)
- 10 minute walk to a great open market at Campo Di Fiori
- 15 minute walk to the Pantheon
- 20 minute walk to the Trivi Fountain
- 25 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum
- 30 minute walk to the Vatican
As you can see, from this apartment you can get to many great destinations by foot, saving the hassle of bus tickets (you buy these from a tobacco shop) or the cost of cabs.
The apartment itself has good separation from both bedrooms, a good set up for a smaller family. This apartment sleep 4 nicely and due to the large sized living room, dining room and roof terrace, it feels pretty spacious. The kitchen is small but functional. The controls on the clothes washer (in the kitchen too) was hard to understand but we finally got the hang of this after a couple of trys. The small lift to the third floor is really small but was helpful when getting our bags up there. So, the apartment itself was old but well laid out for separation and we really liked the outside terrace for wine at twilight.
The only negative thing I would say about our stay is that we felt a little fleeced when the person who greeted us wanted an additional 110 Euro. We did ask to stock the refrigerator with water and some soda but they bought far more water than we would need for our stay (about 12 large bottles) and the remaining cost was for a local tax that needed to be paid in cash. We were lucky to have had the cash on hand. We also added one additional night and paid before arriving but the local greeter and cleaning service showed up the day before we were leaving expecting to clear and clean out the place. A little awkward on our last day.
It was great!
The twins and I had a wonderful time in Rome, and the apartment worked out very well. It was large enough to comfortably accommodate the sprawling teenagers, and give us all privacy. It is also in a quiet location which is nice for sleeping, and very convenient to so many sites.
Our tour with Christina was superb. She was very generous with her time, and all three of us were completely engaged because she is so knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be with.
A great trip! Thanks for all your excellent suggestions.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you had such a great time. The Italy Perfect Team
Can't Wait To Come Back to Danza
First, Italyperfect is the ONLY organization to use when booking accommodations in Italy. The information they provided before my trip made me totally prepared for a stay in Italy. Kudos to Lisa and Pat!!
The driver that they recommended was waiting at Fiumicino with a sign with my name on it and transport into Rome and to the doorstep of the Danza apartment was seamless. The greeter was there and within minutes I was settled in.
The apartment itself was much too large for just one person, but one of my best friends had stayed there with 3 other friends a year before and highly recommended it. It was great!
Everything you could possibly need is within a 3-5 minute walk.
Not to mention Campo di Fiori and Piazza Navona less than a 10 minute walk.
Everything else, including ancient Rome, the Vatican and the Spanish Steps are a short taxi ride.
Special Note: The specific guide Italyperfect recommended for tours of the Vatican and ancient Rome was not available for my dates, but she recommended a colleague of hers, Letizia, who was FANTASTIC!!! Don't wait on hour-long lines for these tours, book private tours through guides that Italyperfect recommends.
OK, you know how I feel about Italyperfect so I want to leave you with one last thought.
My first night at the Danza apartment, I was sipping some white wine and munching on some salami and cheese on the roof terrace, just delightful. And all of a sudden, from a few blocks away, a baritone belted out an aria that lasted about 10 minutes, it was incredible, I was reduced to tears because of his obvious passion for his craft.

Danza is a large apartment in a fantastic location. We were able to walk to everything. It is sparse and somewhat rustic in décor. Unfortunately, due to the extremely hot temperatures Rome was experiencing we were unable to completely enjoy the full apartment. The air conditioner in the living room is not powerful enough to cool the living room, kitchen, dining room and second bedroom. We had to keep all the doors, windows and curtains closed to keep the place cool. I believe it would have been fabulous if it was not too hot. While in Rome, we explored all the usual sites and went on a fantastic Food Tour with Bruno. The tour can be found on Trip Advisor. We visited 7 different establishments and learned about Italian culture, history, food and wine. We strongly recommend it. The tour starts in the Ghetto and ends near Navona, so Danza is perfectly situated. Additionally, we arranged for a private tour of Vatican City - worth every penny! Cecelia, our greeter was nice. Her English is limited. The apartment owners provide a book with all the directions for the items in the apartment so don't expect a "walk through" by the greeter. Italy Perfect was great. We would and have recommended them to others. Ciao.

Danza apartment is in one of Rome's best-loved historic neighborhoods, Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori. Rebuilt in the 18th and 19th century, the Santa Maria in Monticello Church which originated in the 1100's is now home to a French order of priests. Try ringing the bell and ask politely to view the church and you may be given a free private tour. Remember to leave a donation in the offering box for such hospitality to express your appreciation. It can be helpful to speak/understand some French!
