One of the best & most memorable weeks of my life!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is a place to create memories that will last forever. It was a great way to let go of the daily to do's...

We arrived on Saturday and the house was clean and cozy. We opened the windows and let the cool breeze flow through the house. After settling in, we cooked dinner followed by a fire outside. My favorite is listening to the frogs, watching for shooting stars, and roasting marshmallows. The best is waking up to catch the sunrise! It's early, but so worth it!!

MUST DOs:

Lighthouse - Took a nice long walk along the water to the lighthouse. If you want to go inside, bring $3pp and shoes. The kids can ring the bell and you can enjoy the preserved interior from the family that used to live there. Great spot to look for Petoskey rocks too!

Trout Farm - Cedarbrook Trout Farm is 5 min away and great for kids to catch fish!

Things to do at the house:

Kayaks, puzzles, games, movies, books, fires inside and out, smores, look for fireflies/tadpoles/frogs, play in the lake, cornhole, horseshoes, etc....

My nieces are 9 and 13 and they LOVED their week here. They enjoyed spending quality time with family and doing simple things like going to the Family Dollar store to spend their own money!

Thank you for an amazing week! :)

Relaxing Lake Huron Beachfont Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very clean and we LOVED the screened porch. We had a lot of rain during our stay, but we could still sit on the porch and relax listening to the waves. We also had most of our meals on the porch at the table that would sit six comfortably.

The beach was all sand and we could take long walks on the beach walking on sand - no stones. The cottage was close to the beach, so when sitting on the porch you still felt like you were on the beach.

The master bedroom was very large and bright with a comfortable king size bed. A new washer and drier for the couple loads of laundry that we threw in.

If you have AT&T, limited cell service from the cottage. We could get three bars if we walked down to the beach. It reduced the time our son could play on his phone!

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

We truly enjoyed this property. It's tucked way in and very private. The beach area was great, kids had a blast. The house was nice, but our favorite part was the screen in porch! Spent much time out there when we needed to get out of the sun or rain, but still able to enjoy the outdoors. Played cards out there as well. Could use better lighting for night but we managed. We were a little surprised at the bedroom situation, as it really isnt 4 bedrooms. The upstairs is a big loft. Lots of beds, but no doors or closets. It has half walls at the stairs to put beds up against, but the rest is open. We worked it out for our family, but would have been better prepared if we had known this ahead of time, as actual doored rooms would have worked best for us and little ones. But it worked out. The master is big and nice. The other bedroom is in the master with a pocket door. If you're going to spend time here, might bring a couple of fry pans, as some of the ones provided should have been thrown out. The coating on them was very warn and not safe, in my opinion. Otherwise, well stocked. The sunrises were gorgeous, made fires and s'mores several nights. Really enjoyable trip.

Harrisville Rental

  • 4 of 5

Great secluded location, a short distance off of US 23. Roomy house with plenty of dining space, windows definitely need an upgrade. House sleeps twelve but there are actually only three bedrooms. The grounds are beautiful with a sandy beach and sandy (no rocks) swim area. Very short drive to Harrisville, new supermarket in town has all your needs. The grounds have a nice fire pit, the beach area is close to the house and there are two nice kayaks and plenty of beach toys. We had eleven in our party, the kids had a blast, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Amazing home and vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented cottages near Harrisville for as long as I can remember, and this house is absolutely the best one we have stayed at! The house was perfect for our vacation; extremely spacious, exceptionally clean, and had anything/everything you could want while on vacation! Not only was the house perfect and fully stocked, the views and the spot on the beach were perfect. The beach was clean and it was amazing to be able to walk right from the bedroom to the deck and/or beach. The owner, Mike, was very responsive, easy to work with, and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend this home again, as well a rent it in the future!
