About the property

1940 sq. ft (180-190 sq. m) in the hearth of the city

“Art in the heart of Rome”

This unique loft in the heart of Rome was born from the artistic concept of a roman artist. The antique perfectly melts with the modern. Sculptures, pictures and furnitures are the peculiarity of this big open space of almost 180 square meters/1,940 square feet, composed of a large kitchen, two bathrooms (one has a shower and the other a tub with shower), 3 bedrooms (2 double rooms and 1 for three people with a mezzanine floor) and a large living room. The apartment has an autonomous central heating system. There is no air conditioning because its special position on the ground floor makes it cool. The flat also includes a washing machine, a dish washer and free WI FI Internet access.
The whole flat is equipped with everything necessary to ensure the comfort of our guests.

This flat is in a very special location in the ancient part of Rome

  • 5 of 5

Easy walking distance to the Coliseum, the Vatican and everything in between. The flat is well appointed, clean and easy to find. Our host Valentina was superbly helpful getting us to and from the airport and checking us in.

We have recommended it to several friends and would be happy to stay here again.

Located in a quaint neighborhood near sites, local restaurants, taxi, bus stop and grocery.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location for someone who is wanting to immerse themselves in true Italian culture in a lovely neighborhood with great restaurants and the most glorious authentic neighborhood grocery shop right around the corner. Yet close enough to historical and tourism sites you can partake when you choose. With the taxi and bus stop nearby the city of Rome is your oyster.

The apartment itself is a beautiful blend of old and new. Lots of interesting original art pieces and antiques yields to a eclectic vibe. Leaving windows open at night and using fans provided makes the lack of air conditioning barely noticeable and we visited in June 2017. It can take a little time for the hot water to heat to the faucet or showers but nothing a little patience can't handle. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space for everyone to find a quiet corner at the end of the day. The neighborhood can be lively on the weekends but nothing more than a slight increase in street noise. Kitchen is modern and well equipped. There is a washing machine for guests convenience. The owner of the property was both timely in her responses and helpful with loads of information on area as well as assistance with arrival and departure transfers. We were even greeted with milk and cookies and the property's manager to help us get settled on our arrival to the home. Having the property manager close by gives an extra level of comfort in knowing assistance is only a few minutes away in the case of emergency. I would both recommend and stay in the apartment again. We were a family of five with teen and adult children. We stayed at this property for five nights in June of 2017.

Spacious & comfortable apartment in the heart of Rome

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in this unique apartment! The location was perfect and this is really a huge apartment for any big city. There were 6 of us and sometimes we lost track of each other (there are actually two loft areas!) The owner was very gracious - she not only let us check in early, but also made some last minute changes to accommodate additional guests. If we had a request, it was addressed promptly. Being a ground level apartment, it had few windows, but was cool and comfortable considering the 80+ degree weather outside. We enjoyed the immediate neighborhood so much - it is quite active with bars, restaurants and shops. One of our favorite meals of the week was at the restaurant right next door. The market was a 5 minute walk, as well as specialty shops for wine and cheese and our morning cappuccinos. 10 minutes to the Pantheon, 20 minutes to the Vatican, 35 minutes to the Borghese. We enjoyed it very much.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

This flat was perfect. Fit 4 adults and 3 older kids just perfect. We loved being right next to the Piazza. Tons of places to eat and never had bad gelato. Valentina and her assistant Eurica were very sweet and helpful. Easy to go to grocery store, bus stop, and taxi stop. We did have to plan our morning routines to get each of us showered and ready to go as we could only use 1 shower at a time, but once we got a routine it wasn't a problem. We quickly learned the stand up price and the sit down service price at cafes'. Amazing trip, can't wait to go back.

Owner's Response: Hello! Thank you for your beautiful review! I wished you told me about the shower issue because it's never happened before. Could you explain which was the problem? I have checked both showers and they work perfect. The one in the bigger bathroom needs a few minutes to get hot but besides that I couldn't find any other problem. Please let me know so that I can do a better check. Thank you again for being my guests!

Spacious, funky, not fancy - great location and well managed.

  • 5 of 5

We are two couples that stayed 4 nights here. The unit had a third bedroom and was quite large so it could easily have accommodated more. Valentina and Mrs Enrica were great about staying in touch and coordinating our arrival. The location is right in the heart of the city. I counted something like 25 restaurants between the unit and Piazza Navona ( less than 5 minute walk). It can get a little noisy at night (two restaurants literally right outside the front door) but we did not find that to be a major problem. You can walk to both the Vatican and the Coliseum but we found the bus system (stop close by) useful when we got a little tired.

Amazing time in Rome! Wonderful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Let's start with the most important point: If we could give the owners of this property 6 stars out of 5, we would.

As a family of 4, this property was more than big enough for us! It could easily sleep 7. However we wanted a central location, and we didn't want to climb stairs. This location fit the bill.

When we arrived, Mrs. Enrica was there to greet us and explain everything - how the different appliances worked, what to do with recycling, where to shop and where the good (and bad!) restaurants were. The apartment is very large and unique! There is a part of a Roman road going down the main hall, some walls are medieval, and clearly the apartment has been modified and added onto over many years. The owner is a metal sculpturist, which is obvious as soon as you see the front door! The entire apartment is an expression of a unique sense of taste. We loved the wooden and metal doors on the main bedroom!

We were able to walk to the Vatican in 20 minutes, Piazza Navona in about 3 minutes, there is a grocery store, good restaurants and gelato all within a few minutes walk. We even walked back from the Capitoline Museums in about 30 minutes when we missed the taxi stand and just kept going.

One thing about being in a central location is that it can be noisy. The street life in Rome is amazing! Friday and Saturday nights in this area are very active - on a nice night the people just spill out onto the streets from the local cafes and restaurants, the music gets loud and the whole thing lasts until early in the morning. It's really something to watch - and we did - people milling around with glasses of wine, moving from place to place and talking with friends. However it can interfere with sleep if you are a light sleeper. There is also a person in the building who practices piano and oboe (?) a couple of hours a day. Fortunately he/she is very good!

Back to Valentina, the owner's daughter. We had two problems while we were there. One was a lack of hot water. We noticed it right away but weren't sure what to do. When Valentina found out she immediately had someone check it, and it did get fixed. Also, due to an unexpected taxi strike, we were unable to get to our reserved/prepaid time at the Borghese. When we told Valentina, she was able to pull some strings and get us in the next day! We really felt we had a "friend in Rome". And she did all this while dealing with a sick child! We cannot thank her enough. Grazie mille!
