2 Bedroom/2 Bath (sleeps 4) Home Just Steps Away From Glacier National Park!
About Darlene Wagner
I was born in Whitefish, Montana. My family owned and operated the Hungry Horse Motel for 25 years, so I grew up 10 miles from Glacier National Park. What a playground! I purchased this never lived on, densely wooded property in West Glacier in 1994, always having the dream to build a vacation home. Finally! In 2013, West Glacier Vacation Home opened. I hope my dream will be part of your dream!
Why Darlene Wagner chose West Glacier
I chose this location to build a home on because of it's proximity to Glacier Park. There are so many things to enjoy here seasonally. Ride bikes, walk, or hike on the Going to the Sun Highway in the spring before it is open to vehicles. Spring ski at Logan Pass and be mesmerized. X-C Going to the Sun in the winter and see unbelievable views and quiet that is unsurpassed. I want to share it with you - this area has so much to offer. It is spectacular!

So happy we found this place.
Everything needed, was provided. Only a few minutes from Glacier Natl. Park. Spic and span clean. Furniture and bed very comfortable. Handicap bars provided at tubs and toilets. She thought of everything that made our stay great. If we ever come to this area again, we definitely would stay at this location. She met us at the location and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting Darlene. She made us feel so welcome and it seemed like we were visiting an old friend. Dan & Pat Williard, from Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Perfect place to stay!
This property has it all. Spacious living areas, very well built, nicely furnished and decorated, in like new, spotless condition. The owner has thought of everything and is very accommodating.
Perfect cabin with easy access to west entrance to GNP
Highly recommend this home. It is clean, well organized, and close to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and spices. The bedrooms both have comfortable king size beds. Linens are high quality. Darlene was responsive and even went above and beyond to have information in the home on Montana and the park. She even has bear spray for the guests. I recommend this property highly and without reservation. We had a fantastic stay!
This home was everything we could have hoped for - the perfect home base for our week in Glacier! Darlene has thought of every detail. Brochures, books on area hikes and activities, menus, kitchen and pantry items, even tips on where to stop for groceries on your way into town. This home is SO clean, offering very comfortable beds and cozy living areas. Having a grill outside was great for meals when we returned home for the evening. The location is wonderful, close to GNP West entrance but a peaceful setting away from the crowds. Can't say enough good things about our experience! Darlene is wonderful and her home is beautiful! Grab this place up - you won't be disappointed.
Grab this Gem!
I rent condos/homes for both business and vacation. Certain details are very telling about the quality and care of the property. Are there appropriate reading lights in the general living area in addition to both sides of all beds? I want the soft furniture in the general living area to be selected for the comfort of sitting -- because sleep sofas are hideously uncomfortable to sit on and are selected to maximize the number of guests (not my objective). Are the bathroom sink counter tops of adequate size to accommodate my items (I hate pedestal sinks)? It's rare to find a property that gets 5 stars on each of this details -- and this one absolutely does. The bonus here is that everything about this cabin is quality from the beds/linens to the cabinetry, flooring, washer/dryer, kitchen equipment and furniture. And -- the location is perfect!
Great property, great location!
Highly recommend this property. Close to park, clean and well- stocked pantry. Only wish the check-in time would have been a bit earlier than 5pm. Other than that, very happy with our stay!
Your cabin in the woods is located in a private area 1 1/2 miles from West Glacier, entrance to Glacier National Park. You can depart your mountain retreat and walk to restaurants, a bistro, or fine dining at the historic Belton Chalet and Pub. West Glacier offers raft companies, a grocery store, gas stations, and even a post office to send those post cards home. Isaac Walton, sitting on the Continental Divide, is a worthwhile trip on the south side of Glacier Park, featuring a railroad stop, complete with boxcars and a theme pub and restaurant with photos of the rich history surrounding the area. Hungry Horse Dam is only 10 miles from the home; this is the 11th largest dam in the world and is worth seeing. You can actually ride up and down in an elevator inside of the dam itself! Drive over the dam and enter the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the 50 mile long reservoir that holds the snow melt and moisture eventually flowing into the Pacific Ocean. The San Suz Ed is a mile from the cabin, a mainstay in the area, featuring mouthwatering specialties that you will just have to try for yourself. Lake McDonald Lodge is minutes away, so you can listen to the piano bar or take a cruise on the lake that is offered at the Lodge. An easy boardwalk adventure awaits at the Trail of the Cedars. Ask the owner any questions you may have.
