Everything we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I were making our first fishing trip to Lake Winni. and Forest Tall provided everything we were looking for. Good fishing, a dock to keep our boat when not fishing and comfortable place to stay within easy driving distance to get supplies. Everything was clean, the view was great and the weather perfect. Thanks to the Clark Family for providing us everything we needed.

A comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting.

  • 4 of 5

The highlight of this cottage is the screened porch with a view of the lake through many trees. The master bedroom also has a wonderful view of the lake through a picture window. You can drink the pure tap water and the kitchen is well-equipped, although the gas stove requires manually lighting the burners which is a little tricky with sparker. The water is clear and the temperature was ideal for swimming this year.

We particularly enjoyed visiting Castle in the Clouds nearby, for the hiking trail, Carriage House restaurant, and mansion tour. I don't know if it is standard procedure, but we also enjoyed the boat ride the friendly owner took us on.

The cottage includes access to 2 kayaks, a canoe and a row boat. However, this portion of Winnipesaukee is fairly narrow and there is an almost continual stream of powerboats racing down the middle, creating a lot of noise and rough water, especially in the late afternoon. The wake from these boats makes the float in front of the cottage bounce up and down throughout the day and makes for rough canoeing and kayaking.

Excellent Week!

  • 5 of 5

My family of five including three young adult children had a wonderful week at Forest Tall. We swam, kayaked, explored, hiked, slept, hiked some more and just relaxed. The cabin was plenty big enough for all of us to be together for meals, evening games and movies. It was also perfect for each of us to have peaceful, quiet alone time reading or working on our computers. The Clarks were so friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed listening to 97 year old Fred's stories. The week went too quickly. I hope we can come back again! I highly recommend Forest Tall!

Water Front Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Prior reviews and EMail with owners are what sold us on this cabin. It's all they said it was, clean, comfortable and a great base for vacation activities. We were late in the season for water activities but the "fleet" is there for your use. Canoe restaurant in Center Harbor has great food. If your a golfer stay away from Kona Golf Course. Had chance to meet Alison and Jon (owner/caretakers) and they are great people.

23+ years coming here and every year we say two weeks next year. One week is never enough time. The new addition of two kayaks is awesome. We took them to see the bald eagles nest on the island by camp Tecumseh -only took about an hour down and back. The new boat rack is quite nice to store all the boats too( canoe, row boat and 2 kayaks). Spent a lot of time floating on the raft and in the water. The owners are a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend a stay in this charming cabin-just leave two weeks for us in 2015!
