About Scott A. Meier

We have lived in this grand Milwaukee neighborhood for over twenty years and am so proud to call it my home. We have restored many unique architectural gems in Washington Heights. We have published stories and pictures in the Milwaukee Journal, Bungalow Magazine, and the local neighborhood newspaper, The Washington Highlighter.

Scott A. Meier purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Scott A. Meier chose Washington Heights

Over twenty years ago, we initially purchased the sister duplex next door and made

it our home for many years. When the sister duplex became available... it was a dream come true. The two properties where originally constructed for two sisters, at the turn of the century, when the neighborhood was first developed from pasture land.

Our neighborhood today advertises itself as, "In the City, Out of the Ordinary.

What makes this apartment unique

Please check out the Washington Heights Neighborhood Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin website to get further neighborhood insight. You can read about special activities we have throughout the year, as well as, informative neighbor stories and happenings published in the Highlighter Magazine.

Great neighborhood to stay plus have an Old Milwaukee experience.

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful historic duplex. Had a 2 1/2yr old with us plus more extended family visit and if you appreciate and prepare for original older home architecture you will love it. Needed the cobwebs cleaned up a bit, but otherwise nice decor, towels, dishes and bedding. Very responsive owner too. Would stay there again.

A wonderful setting for a family gathering!

  • 5 of 5

Everything we needed was there! Great atmosphere! Perfect location for our activities. We rented both units so it gave us a good mix of privacy as well as a gathering space for all. We had our 3 children and our 4 grandchildren all together. I loved it!

Incredible Gem in historic Washington Heights

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented out both the lower and upper units of this exceptional property for a long weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My family had the Upper unit, my sister's family the Lower .... I can say without hesitation that the property in general and the Upper unit in particular is fabulous - the photos really do not do it justice.

There were some A/C issues in the lower unit ( this historic mansion does not have central air but relies on window or floor-standing units) but the staff came onsite a few times to remedy the issue ...we had no such issues in the upper and the a/c was cold - almost too cold at times during this humid summer.

Every detail about the property - the flowers in the beds and the urns out front are beautiful and well-kept, like the rest of the property. Every detail - the woodwork, the beautiful furnishings, the incredible light fixtures and chandeliers, in a word - WOW!

Many of these area properties were built for the industrial and brewing industry executives back in the day, and the love and care the owners have put into the property is apparent at every turn. Historic, romantic, and elegance personified.

The neighborhood is beautiful, stately and about 15 minutes from just about anywhere you want to be in the greater Milwaukee area. I had some initial concerns about safety given the ongoing racial turmoil in the MKE area, but these were unfounded/ We had a small dog with us (the owners are very tolerant of this) and had to walk him in the middle of the night each night, and at no time did I feel unsafe. Just the opposite - felt very secure.

The beds and mattresses and linens/towels in the Upper Unit are all first rate - very comfortable. )The Lower unit Queen mattress in the Master needs replacing, but the other beds were firm and the upkeep of the property is exceptional.

I would absolutely recommend this property and won't hesitate to stay there again.

Well=appointed - nutri-bullets, hand-mixers, coffee grinders - incredible gas range in the upper and nice electric range in the lower. Beautiful period pieces and art work, plenty of top-rate china, glass and stem-ware - all the comforts of a very nice home.

In a nutshell, you can't go wrong with this choice! Thanks to Scott and Mark and Sam the caretaker for a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this first-rate property/ they were very responsive and even with a couple glitches in the lower unit, worked to ensure our satisfaction.

FiveStars all the way!

Wonderful Home on the Boulevard!

  • 5 of 5

This is my first time using HomeAway, and this rental is absolutely wonderful! So much room and comfort. The Kitchen is impressively equiped with everything you could possibly want, including condiments in the fridge, and fabulous ground coffee in the freezer. Only 10 minutes, at the most, to downtown. Convenient to the Brewer's ball park. Friendly, safe, quiet neighboorhood. Nearby Wauwatosa provides many options with grocery stores, wonderful restaurants, and nice independent shops (loved the independent bookstore Little Read Book, Inc.). Several parks are close as well. Our stay was so pleasant, we want to return to Milwaukee and rent this place again!
