About Marie and Lorenzo

I moved from chaotic Moscow City to a peaceful Medieval town in Tuscany a few years ago. It became my second home and the place I would like to come back to again and again after traveling all around the world. This little village is so charming and genuine that I fell in love with it at first sight.

Marie and Lorenzo purchased this house in 2008

Why Marie and Lorenzo chose Pisa Province

Among all the towns around Pisa this was the most genuine and full of history. Close to railway stations and airports, but still very quiet and surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscapes. It's close to mountains as well as to the sea. It's a strategically ideally located property if you want to get easily to Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Livorno, Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra. It will take less than an hour to drive to Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi beaches.

What makes this house unique

We are lucky to be helped by our friends Lorenzo and Marie (seen in the photo) who will be dealing with your booking enquiries and will meet you at the property. They live nearby and know the area really well, so you can rely on them with anything you may need to know about this region.

Super little house in lovely town

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable ,convenient and clean. Very helpful friendly owners.

We loved the prosecco and our grandson enjoyed the fruit - sitting out on the rear terrace in the sunlight between the 'due torre' - marvellous.

Spacious, charming place between medieval Towers!

  • 5 of 5

Charming little Vicopisano. We chose this place because it's close to Pisa and Lucca and Florence and all Tuscan attractions, and yes, it IS great for that. It is also a quiet, unhurried little town with gracious people, a relaxing atmosphere, excellent restaurants, close to olive mills and vineyards. The caretakers/hosts are charming, personable, helpful, funny, caring, and delightful. They hosted a cooking class that was fun and informative and DELICIOUS! What great ambassadors for the village and actually, all Tuscany! Waking every morning to the view of those towers, sauntering through the village to explore and photograph the place - what pleasure! And every day, we were more and more charmed by this wonderful village. (My favorite Pizzeria in the world was recommended by Marie.) Love the village; love the House of Two Towers!

Perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa Due Torre for 3 nights, and wish it could have been for longer. The property is absolutely fantastic, and the village of Vicopisano is lovely. Our stay coincided with a local beer festival which was great.

The two terraces, one at the front and one at the rear of the house provided some lovely views of two of the historic towers in the village and were wonderful places to sit and relax, and enjoy a drink or two! We really enjoyed watching the fireflies in the back - they added a really magical feeling to the evenings!

The bed was very comfortable, and the living area was a good size, with good facilities for making meals.

If you are staying at the weekends, make an effort to go to the local fort, the guide was very informative and the view from the top of the tower was amazing, as were the prison cells below.

Marie was a wonderful host, giving tips of things to do and places to go both in the village and the surrounding area. The property is perfectly located for trips to various places in Tuscany including Pisa, Volterra, and Florence.

We would highly recommend this property, and would like to thank Marie for her warm welcome!

A quiet relaxing location

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I stayed at Casa Due Torri in Vicopisano for one week in June 2017 and we thoroughly enjoyed both the accommodation and the surrounding area, the property which was clean and well maintained was set in the beautiful medieval village where we experienced the relaxing atmosphere of the authentic Italian way of life, we chose this location because we wanted a quiet place to unwind after visiting the busy tourist areas of Pisa, Florence and Lucca which were all totally stunning. We decided not to hire a car but instead use public transport to tour the region which in itself was an experience but quite achievable due to the central location of Vicopisano where you are within easy reach of such historic cities as well as the beautiful Tuscan landscape which is quite breathtaking. The property is managed by Marie and Lorenzo who were very hospitable they arranged our airport transfer taxis and met us at the accommodation when we arrived they also invited us for a welcome drink at their home that evening, we would encounter them on an almost daily basis due to the small size of the village. They can arrange various activities locally such as a tour of the olive groves or authentic Italian cookery lessons but one of the highlights of our holiday was when they took us on a personal tour of two local vineyards followed by lunch in a nearby restaurant which rounded off such a lovely holiday ..... Thank you Marie and Lorenzo hope to see you again some day !!!

Owner's Response: Dear Jeremy, thank you so much for your review of Casa Due Torri. It's always a pleasure to hear that our guests have enjoyed their stay with us and that they have enjoyed discovering Vicopisano and the wider region of Tuscany. We had such fun with you in the wine region and we hope you got your chosen wines back home safely! We thank you for sharing such useful information with our future guests. We are often asked if it's necessary to rent a car. We do always recommend a car but as you proved it is not essential and I know you had a great time exploring the region by public transport. As you pointed out there is also plenty to do and see in the village itself so it's great to snatch the odd day at a slower pace after all that sightseeing in the bigger cities Thank you agin for finding us, you were fabulous guests and it was great bumping into you in the village and sharing a Prosecco or two! We hope you come back and visit us again one day, till the next time, take care and best wishes. Marie and Lorenzo

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We (2 adults and a 2 yr old) had a fantastic time in Vicopisano staying at this house. Marie and Lorenzo were very friendly and hospitable with lots of info and recommendations about the local area. The house was great with two outside areas, both with great views and with the sun at different times of the day! It was well equipped, a good size and we couldn't have asked for more!

We also went on two of the "memorable experiences" with Marie. The first was the tour of the local olive groves which was very interesting and with the chance to sample lots of the different flavours which we really enjoyed. The second was the pasta workshop which we would highly recommend. It was great fun with a very relaxed atmosphere. The chef was great and gave plenty of hands on experience. We had a 2 year old with us and he loved helping mix and cut pasta shapes. The resulting lunch was delicious!
