About Marie and Lorenzo

I moved from chaotic Moscow City to a peaceful Medieval town in Tuscany a few years ago. It became my second home and the place I would like to come back to again and again after traveling all around the world. This little village is so charming and genuine that I fell in love with it at first sight.

Marie and Lorenzo purchased this house in 2008

Why Marie and Lorenzo chose Vicopisano

Among all the towns around Pisa this was the most genuine and full of history. Close to railway stations and airports, but still very quiet and surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscapes. It's close to mountains as well as to the sea. It's a strategically ideally located property if you want to get easily to Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Livorno, Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra. It will take less than an hour to drive to Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi beaches.

What makes this house unique

We are lucky to be helped by our friends Lorenzo and Marie (seen in the photo) who will be dealing with your booking enquiries and will meet you at the property. They live nearby and know the area really well, so you can rely on them with anything you may need to know about this region.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Such a wonderful place. The view from our decks were beautiful. Great location to everything we wanted to see. Marie was the most graces host a person could ask for. We had trouble getting our phone to work and she took the time to help fix it, we were so grateful. She also recommended a pasta cooking class which was great. Had so much fun and learned a lot. Even bought a pasta machine when we got back home. Thank you Marie for everything. Couldn’t have ask for a better place and host.

Where to begin??!!!

  • 5 of 5

After getting lost for 3 hours, due to a faulty GPS, we made it to Casa Due Torri. There we met Marie, who gave us both welcoming hugs! She gave us a brief tour of the property as well as a tour of Vicopisano. The chilled bottle of Prosecco was there as promised and after our driving ordeal, was promptly taken care of!

Casa Due Torri is very clean, functional and in a great location. The views from the terraces provided some calming moments as we were dealing with a crisis back in the States while we were there.

Everything we were going to need for the week was within walking distance...The restaurants, the butcher, the bakery, the coffee shop & the market!

Our main goal for the week was to experience the food, the wine & the culture. Marie & Lorenzo are wonderful people & hosts. They went out of their way to help us & guide us. The vineyard tour & The Theater of silence is a must. We had great wines at both wineries and bought wine to bring home. It took some will power not to drink it!! The Theater of Silence is a natural amphitheater surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Our cooking class involved cutting up with Chef Olimpia, learning some great Italian dishes & indulging in some great prosecco & red wine! The olive oil tasting & class taught us things we truly didn’t know before.

Our bike ride through the countryside was rewarded with more breathtaking scenery!

We met many wonderful people while there, including Mara, the bartender at Vicopisano’s Social Club... Part retirement home, part rec center, part day care center & of course, part bar! There was Maria who made wonderful food in her small restaurant, the father & son who ran the butcher shop & the nice people from the pizzeria and the family from the farm we visited!

Our plan is to return as we simply ran out of time to do everything we wanted to do. Additionally the food, the wine & the hospitality of Marie & Lorenzo are more than enough reason to return! Grazie!!!

Authentic Experience

  • 5 of 5

My space was amazing and Marie and Lorenzo went above and beyond from what I have experienced with other similar type stays. It was clean, spacious, there was fruit, Proseco, water and a lot of advice about areas to go see. I was only here for three nights and loved it. Two terraces, a great space for cooking, beautiful bedroom and a bath...a real bath, bellisimo. Above and beyond expectations and Marie and Lorenzo were there and available if I had issues. As far as activities, I had the most amazing cooking lesson and olive oil tasting experience arranged by Marie with Olimpia and Marco, I cannot say enough kind words about this wonderful experience. I would sincerely love to come back here again <3

Beautiful little village

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this lovely village and it’s surrounds. Marie and Lorenza provide lots of info and handy tips. Our top pick was the Tuscan cooking class with Olympia, made for a fabulous day at the olive farm. Also went to Luca and Pisa which are a must.

We loved our apartment and time spent in Vicopisano. Everyday was a new experience and our hosts, Marie and Lorenzo were the best. Marie was always available to answer our questions whenever we needed her and provided us with much information. She helped to make this unique and charming corner of Tuscany a home away from home.
