Welcome to our lovely, recently renovated 1800 square foot, 3 bedroom, 1 & 3/4 bath home, located in historic Old Colorado City. This residential neighborhood has homes built as early as the 1870s and is a charming and safe area in the Springs, just 5 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs.
Our house was originally built in 1893 & is located on a quiet street, just a block away from the main avenue of Old Colorado City, which is a second downtown area in the Springs.
Our ranch-style home has a large living room with a vaulted ceiling. There are two comfortable modern couches facing a 46' flat screen HD TV. We have full HD cable service as well as high speed WiFi. One bedroom is off the living room, and is set up with two twin beds. There is a flat screen 20" TV in this bedroom.
The large master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a king-sized bed with a very comfortable mattress. There is a gas fireplace across from the bed, and the adjoining bathroom/dressing area has a nice tiled shower, as well as a toilet and sink. The master bedroom has a 42" flat screen high def TV above the fireplace, great for watching TV in bed before going to sleep.
The other bedroom on this side of the house has a queen-size bed. There is a 24" flat screen TV in this bedroom.
During the warm months, each bedroom (as well as the living room) also has a window-mounted air conditioner, which serve to keep the house nice and cool. Please note that this house does NOT have central air.
The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances and there is a dining area right off the kitchen.
There is also a 2nd bathroom with a tub located near the back door to the house, near the kitchen. The large laundry room is across from the bathroom and has a full size washer and dryer.
From the back yard, there is a panoramic view of the front range of the Rocky Mountains (see photo). There is also a barbecue grill and patio area with a nice patio set up for 'al fresco' dining and relaxing.
Colorado Ave, the main street in Old Colorado City, is just a block away with its wonderful restaurants and shops. Every Saturday, just 3 blocks from our house in Bancroft Park, is a fantastic farmer's market with locally grown produce, baked goods, tamales, etc.
It's very convenient to walk a block or two and find Pizza Rustica, (great brick oven pizza), Jake & Telly's (Greek food), La Baguette cafe (French bakery & bistro), Paravicini's Italian Restaurant (good Italian food), Colorado Creamery (ice cream) and much more. If you like Barbecue, another great restaurant within walking distance is Front Range Barbecue, and Rudy's is just across Highway 24 off of 31st street. The Mason Jar has great American food. Safeway, Walmart and King Soopers are all within a 10 minute drive.
Seven Falls and Helen Hunt Falls are located in Cheyenne Canyon, about a 10 minute drive away and both are incredibly beautiful. For a shot of old world elegance, the five star Broadmoor hotel, an historic resort that is a wonderful place to go for a drink or a meal or just to walk around the gorgeous grounds is also only about a 10 minute drive from the house!
Historic Manitou Springs with its wonderful restaurants, shopping and galleries is about a 5 minute drive west from the house. It's a fun time exploring the Cave of the Winds and the Cliff-dwelling museum in Manitou Springs, both great entertainment for kids. Garden of the Gods park, with its exquisite red rock formations, is a must see and it is less than 5 minutes away with a fantastic visitor's center.
Downtown Colorado Springs is just a hop, skip and jump away, as well...
The Air Force Academy is about 15 minutes north of us, and Colorado College is about 7 minutes away in the downtown area. The Olympic Training Center is east of us and less than a ten minute drive. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is less than 10 minutes away.
Highway 24 - the main route up into the mountains - is less than 5 minutes away. There are many fabulous day trips less than 2 hours from us up the pass, including the drive up Pikes Peak, the Royal Gorge in Canyon City, rafting on the Arkansas river, soaking in hotsprings in Buena Vista or Penrose and having lunch in Woodland Park.
This property has off street parking in our driveway for several cars and can also accommodate a medium sized RV. There is also plenty of on-street parking in front of the house.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if cancellation is 60 days or more before arrival date.
Cancelling 30-60 days before arrival date will result in forfeit of deposit unless we can re-rent your dates, in which case, we will refund your deposit.
Cancelling within 30 days of arrival date is also non-refundable unless we are able to re-book those dates.
There is a $50.00 processing fee for any cancellation.
Although we are transplants from elsewhere in the country, we came out to Colorado many years ago and fell in love with it. Colorado Springs' Westside - and Old Colorado City in particular - has been our home ever since (and is where we first met). We still live and work in the area and truly enjoy the family-friendly neighborhood environment set against the backdrop of beautiful Pikes Peak.

We love being in Old Colorado City, within walking distance of the neighborhood restaurants, shops and nightlife! We also love being so close to the Garden of the Gods Park, where we walk our pups as often as we can.

This lovely home was everything I expected. Three large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook a holiday dinner for five. The owner is terrific. I am from South Texas and wanted to spend Christmas with my Colorado family. But, I am not used to snow. The owner came over and shoveled snow for me and made sure I was comfortable. I stayed for a month and had a wonderful vacation.
The house was everything as advertised. Close to old town - we had a pleasant time! We would have liked to stay longer but it was booked. We would definitely stay here again!
This house was easy to find and gave us quick access to many places around Colorado Springs and Manitou. It is a comfortable place to stay and had everything we needed. The owner was a quick call away to answer any questions we had. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to book again next year!
What a wonderful home, in a wonderful location, we could not have been more happy with our stay here! The home is very roomy, kitchen is very well stocked with all that we needed for cooking, great TV and wifi service, and pet friendly. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, and we were in very short walking distance to "Old Town" shopping. Our family typically spent the day on outings, but in the evenings, we enjoyed walking to the shops, especially the ice cream shop! The house is located near highway access, and we found it very easy to get around. Thank you so much! If we ever make it back to Colorado Springs, we will absolutely book our stay with you!!

Lots of room in this home and we really enjoyed walking to local restaurants. Situated on a quiet street, it was close to everything we wanted to do. It is an older home with character, but it was clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This was our first time to Colorado. The house was in a perfect location and close to all the attractions we had scheduled.
I would definitely recommend this place for a family vacation.
Our property is located in the heart of Old Colorado City, a lovely neighborhood with fabulous restaurants, shops, museums, hiking and biking, much within walking distance. We are a 5 minute drive from the Garden of the Gods Park and minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs and historic Manitou Springs, with its own wonderful shops & restaurants. Staying here, you are literally within minutes of everything that Colorado Springs has to offer! Even the Airforce Academy is only a 20 minute or less drive away.
