Overview

About the property

"Palace" sleeps 10 (2nd & 3rd fl, 3 bed/2 bath w/2 sofa sleepers, huge deck)

Need more space.....rent the condo upstairs. The "Loft" (VRBO#411142) sleeps 8 (on 4th/5th fl, 3 bed/2 bath w/ 1 sofa sleeper, private rooftop).

- Your vacation home is a 1650 sq. ft duplex. The condo is located on the East side of Wicker Park. Being on the east side means closer to the expressway (2 min), closer to the Division Blue Line Train (5-7 min walk) and cheaper cab fares since we are right off of the expressway ($10-15 from most Chicago attractions).

This unit sleeps 10 people: 3 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queen beds), 2 bath, 2 sofa sleepers (queen in the semi private loft & full size in living room).

- The 'PALACE' condo is the 2nd and 3rd floor of a 5 story building in East Village / Bucktown / Wicker Park / Ukranian Village area.

The first floor of the condo consists of 2 bedrooms with queen beds that opens to a 5' x 22' covered balcony and the private deck over the 2 car garage, bathroom with shower, the kitchen, and the living room has a fireplace with full size sofa sleeper plus 55'' tv.

-The second floor loft in the condo has a queen sofa bed, tv and laundry room. The back half of that floor has the master bedroom with king bed and master bath.

- It has all the amenities dishes, pots & pans, towels & linens, cable television, wireless internet (code will be provided)

Some Wicker Park boutiques(Noir, le Dress, Paper Doll, Penelope's, Pagoda Red, Nina, Psycho Baby, Pavilion,), art galleries, theaters, restaurants, summer patio's, nightclubs and coffeehouses (Ex. Carriage House, Bedford, Prasino, Anthem,Boundary, Jerry's, Fifty/50, Smoke Daddy's). A 10 minute walk to Bucktown and 5-10 minutes to Chicago Avenue places.

- Take TRAIN (Blue Line) from O'Hare to Division Street Blue Line and less than a 10 minute walk to condo. Same TRAIN (Blue line) takes you to the downtown area in 15 minutes (about 2 miles), 2 blocks away is Chicago Ave to catch the 66 bus to Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier. Best part is to get exhausted exploring the city and you are only a $10-$15 cab ride back to condo because we are a few blocks from the expressway. For our travelers with cars street parking is free right around the corner.

An additional unit is available in the same building on the 4th/5th floor. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1 sofa sleeper, and private rooftop deck facing the Chicago Skyline. Property number is 411142.

Wicker Park/Bucktown area: Imagine a foodie haven, boutique shopping, bar hopping, martini sipping, hipster vibe, world class neighborhood. From Marc Jacobs and Club Monaco to thrift shops and Fjallraven, welcome to Wicker Park. It has a trendy, local vibe and is conveniently located right off the safe Blue Line with three major L stops just six minutes from the Loop and downtown-- Division, Damen, Western. What I love most about Wicker Park is the laid back environment with genuinely good people. Tons of young people, families, young professionals, the business crowd, and yes.... hipsters! While it appears the more artsy, hipster scene is migrating north to Logan Square due to skyrocketing living costs in Wicker Park, the culture undoubtedly still exists. My personal favorite is Division Street on the southern border of the neighborhood. Lots of exciting developments and a more reserved scene compared to the hustle and bustle of the Six Corners (North Ave, Milwaukee, Damen). Spend your time walking around the perimeter roads (Division, Damen, North, Ashland ... Ashland is the least interesting) and the primary cut-through road (Milwaukee Ave). Take a little time to wander through the side streets, there are many older homes that are quite nice, plus a number of new constructions sneaking in alongside.

Great stay in both units

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in both the palace and the loft. The outdoor areas were perfect for our large group. Everything was laid out well, and the rooms were comfortable. 10/10 would recommend.

Great location and amazing outdoor spaces!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed in both units with a group of 13. The apartments are both great, nice layout with well stocked kitchens. The highlights for us were the large deck in the 2nd-3rd floor apartment (which was the best space for 13 of us to sit down together for dinner, so we were out there frequently) and especially the views from the roof deck in the 4th-5th floor apartment. The building is a short, easy walk to the Division blue line stop and we also walked to nearby restaurants, the Saturday Wicker Park farmers market, etc. We would definitely stay here again with a large group in the city!

Clean with plenty of space

  • 4 of 5

Niki's place was just what we needed for a short stay in Chicago. We had no trouble finding on street parking. There were nice restaurants nearby. The apartment is well-equipped and afforded us plenty of space (four adults and two children). There were, however, several maintenance items needing repair- unexpected at this price point.

Spacious, well equipped for a group & good location

  • 4 of 5

Great setup for extended family in town for a wedding. Back patio deck worked great for hosting 14 family members. Comfortable beds and very well stocked kitchen. Would have given it 5 stars but a couple of small repairs needed (faucet in main floor bathroom needs repaired & washing machine apparently also not working). Definately would stay here again. Thanks Niki.

Good location & met expectations

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented the condo for a long 4-day weekend while in Chicago to catch a show. The condo was clean and spacious and in a very good location with an easy walk (~10-minutes) to the subway as well as numerous very good restaurants of all varieties & price ranges. We felt safe at all times. There were some small things that didn't work when we were there but all were clearly labeled by the owner so we didn't waste time trying to figure them out and none impacted the quality of our stay.

What was especially helpful is that we were there with a big group and were able to rent both condos (one above the other) which made it very convenient to get together for activities.

We will consider renting again when we are back in Chicago.

Very clean, neat, well furnished and good location.

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property.Well furnished and equipped. Kitchen was complete and they even stocked basic essentials which was very helpful to us after a long flight. Niki was very helpful. Very prompt in her responses and providing information. Very flexible and she made us feel at home. We rented both Palace as well as aloft and great experience in both. Together the property handles around 15 people but we never felt crowded. Palace has a big patio and plenty of seating. We had a great time.

All of this is balanced with its neighborhood charm, locally owned and run businesses - boutiques, cafes, bars and renowned restaurants.
