The Sea House has an open layout with great views of the Gulf through the 2 sets of double doors. There are seating and dining areas in the great room across the front of the house. The space is so open and bright that you still feel like you are on the beach even when you are eating, visiting, or relaxing in the house. We have added a new Flat Screen TV in the living area for your favorite shows, movie and sports events.

The kitchen overlooks the great room so those in the kitchen can not only enjoy the Gulf view but also can keep up with all of the family activity in the main room! The kitchen has just been updated with granite counter tops.

The master bedroom is on the main floor of the house.with a queen size bed and reading lights. The second bedroom on the main floor has two double beds, windows and reading lights. The third bedroom is the upstairs loft. The loft space has 1 double bed and 1 twin bed. This space is really great for older kids or guests. All beds feature upgraded linens.

Underneath the house, there is a laundry/storage room and covered parking. This shaded area under the house is great for relaxing and stashing all the buckets and rafts that you take down to the water.

The entire house has been updated by installing new floors on the main level, new carpet in the loft area, and new windows throughout the house. In addition to replacing the old furniture and mattresses, we added wireless internet.

We often have special discounted rates that we can offer and some of our properties are available for 2 night rentals. Please check with us to see if this property is available for your desired dates.

Reviewer Comments:

We had the best week in the off season staying in this rental right on the beach! We only left the property to buy groceries. My main complaint...I don't think it should be the renters respnosibility to buy dishwasher tablets, hand soap, and toilet paper!! Even if this had of been a different kind of trip and we were on the go and eating out, I wouldn't want to stop and buy TP! Other than that, the house was in decent shape, and we had a great time. thank you!

Owner's Response: Deanna, glad you enjoyed your fall vacation at the Seahouse. Keep us in mind for your next trip down. BTW we state in all of the check in instructions and rental agreements that we will provide the original set ups of soaps, detergents and paper products and the guest will have to provide their own after that. Thanks, Ken

Reviewer Comments:

This was our first VRBO experience. It was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our beach house. The kids loved how close it was to the beach and the view was amazing. I hope to return next year. The only thing I would change would be adding a washer and dryer inside of the house. However, the entire facility was very clean and I enjoyed it very much.

Reviewer Comments:

Overall it was vacation on the beach do it was a good time. The beach house needs some major upgrades. The floor is rising in multiple places, the main bedroom door won't stay open on its own. The refrigerator took roughly 36 hours to cool our items and it was nowhere near full. It's on its last leg. Lighting is poor at best... I'm simply listing the things wrong... Again we did have a good time and it wasn't anything detrimental to the overall stay. It's one of the cheapest beach houses on the beach. So you get what you pay for!

Reviewer Comments:

The house and views were beautiful, however, the flooring is bubbling up in places. The living room furniture is very uncomfortable and can hardly accommodate a large group. Other than those two issues, the rental is great. Would highly recommend!

A great place

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect vacation home to be far enough away from the crowds and traffic of town, but also close enough to town. No complaints at all. Definitely recommend.

Reviewer Comments:

Location and views are amazing. Pictures are accurate of the inside. The fridge is an older model but has an awesome ice maker producing an abundance of ice and plenty of room for food and drinks. The house is a little faded and could use some TLC, but it had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing week on the beach. Awesome views of the gulf from common living areas, beds were comfortable, water pressure and temperature in showers was great and since we spent most of our time on the beach, the outdoor shower was useful. Rental company was easy to work with and very responsive.

Map

Sea House is a short walk from the Lagoon Pass, a stretch of water that connects the Gulf and the Little Lagoon. This a popular fishing spot for both people and the blue herons. The herons are a lot of fun to watch. They usually just stand around waiting for people to throw them the fish that are too small to keep. The Little Lagoon, which you can see from the back of the house, is a beautiful brackish lake surrounded by marshes, swamps, and dunes. It is home to hundreds of species of birds, fish, crab, and shrimp.

As part of Gulf Shores, the house is close to nature trails, water parks, restaurants, and shopping. Gulf Shores has some of the best golf courses in the state such as Peninsula, Craft Farms, Gulf State Park Golf Course, and Kiva Dunes which was named the number one course in Alabama by Golf Week. Gulf Shores is also home to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo which was featured on Animal Planet as “The Little Zoo That Could.” If you have ever wanted to hold a lemur, it is the place to go! One of our favorite places to visit in Gulf Shores is Fort Morgan, a masonry fort finished in 1834 intended to guard the entrance to Mobile Bay. While most famous for its role in the Civil War when United States Admiral David Farragut sailed into the Bay shouting “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!, the fort served the United States in the Spanish-American War as well as both world wars. It is a great place to visit just make sure to wear bug spray. Dauphin Island, a barrier island in the Gulf, is accessible by ferry from Fort Morgan. There you can visit historic Fort Gaines or the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, a working marine laboratory that also has a public aquarium which highlights the unique ecosystem of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

As part of the greater Gulf Coast area, you can visit historic Mobile, a port city home to museums, the USS Alabama Battleship, and Bellingrath Gardens. You can also visit Fairhope, Alabama, a beautiful bay city filled with flower lined streets, locally owned shops and restaurants, art galleries, and a large public pier. About 34 miles from the house, it is definitely worth the drive. If you make the drive to Fairhope, be sure to stop at Andree's Wine and Cheese for lunch. They have great sandwiches. We especially like the Sunshine Crunch, the Po'Boy, and the fruit bread. You can also pick up some wines, desserts, and breads to enjoy back at the house.

The Gulf Coast is a wonderful place to visit and live. With so much to do and see, we hope that you make Sea House your home base as you explore or just plain relax!
