Why Jessica & Frank chose Ontario

Muskoka is an area that we have always been drawn to and have loved to visit. We still at times can not believe that such a beautiful place is ours and we are so excited to raise our family there and share our incredible cottage with our wonderful renters.

Muskoka has an abundance of things to see and do. The list is long with something for every taste and interest. Visit a museum, hike a pristine trail, star gaze, swim in sparkling waters, shop for that perfect piece of art, sip some local wine or beer on a dock, get up close and personal with wildlife, pamper yourself at a spa, give your taste buds a treat, photograph stunning vistas, or enjoy one of the many events and festivals which reflect Muskoka's charm and uniqueness. Whether you feel like being outdoors or indoors, whether you are a beginner or an expert, whatever the season, whatever the budget, Muskoka has something for everyone.

Great location and great time

  • 4 of 5

Had a family reunion of sorts at Jessica and Frank's place. It is a very nice property with all the amenities you could ask for. The large kitchen even has a dish washer. The main floor also has a large dining area and living/family room that overlooks the lake. There is a utility room as you enter the house which is large enough to store the patio chairs and leave room for boxes. The deck is spacious and has a great view of the lake.

There are four bedrooms on the upper levels which we found to be more than suitable for our needs. The smallest room has a balcony that overlooks the lake.

Sixty-one stairs down to the lake makes for a good workout but once down there is a deck and a dock on which you can sit and enjoy the views and solitude. The water begins as a shallow area but by the end of the dock it is deep enough to float a boat.

Our grandchildren are already asking when they can come back.

Truly paradise at Sand Lake

  • 5 of 5

The property was fantastic! It was clean, spacious and well equipped, there was nothing that we wished we had brought with us. Having arrived in the dark the view that met us when we opened our curtains the next morning was wonderful.

The use of the kayaks really added something too, our three teenagers loved swimming in the lake and kayaying, ( it even got them away from the internet for hours at a time!) we all made it to the island in the middle of the lake too.

Jessica was really helpful and amenable. We had the holiday of a lifetime and are desperate to return. Thank-you

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

It was our first visit to the Kearney area and our only disappointment was the lack of fish in Sand Lake.

The cottage was lovely, very spacious for our 4 adult, 1 child group. The kitchen was well equipped and the furniture was comfy. The deck and views were outstanding. We appreciated the privacy.

The kayaks were a hit with our son and daughter-in-law.

The steps to the lake were daunting at first, but after a week we came away with well toned calves and thighs!

Jessica (the owner) was very accommodating and helpful.

We will recommend this cottage to all our friends and family.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the wonderful review! We would love to have you return. I'm sorry about the lack of fish. We have had guests successfully catch some in the past, even right off of the dock. As I pride myself on gaining 5* reviews it's a shame that the reason this one is a 4* is beyond my control. Thank you for recommending our home to your circle of friends and family!

Absolutely Breathtaking!!

  • 5 of 5

Another stay in paradise again this year. The house is lovely and huge, the swimming is divine (warm water, sandy bottom, nice to wade in, drops off past the edge of the dock) and we even caught a fish right off of the dock! The view from the deck is incredible. We will be back again next year :) Also love the 3 kayaks. We toured the lake, so much fun!

Complete & Utter Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My family has been renting cottages for nearly a decade and we have NEVER before rented such a beautiful place. This home should not even be called a cottage, but a lake house as it is truly a HUGE home. What a gem - and the prices are so reasonable considering! There are 4 GIANT bedrooms that are decorated impeccably and the 2.5 bathrooms are a huge bonus too. The entire home is spotless and has EVERYTHING you would ever need. The home has the most beautiful sunset view and there are 2 different balconies that you can enjoy the view from. Even the BBQ and outdoor dining set is brand new and spotless!

The lake itself is so clean with crystal clear water and a beautiful sandy bottom. The lake was perfect for our young children with the sand bottom, and large shallow wading area. The water doesn't get deep until past the dock a few feet and then it drops off. The dock itself is huge and a perfect place to suntan and listen to music or read a book. There is also a beautiful deck by the water's edge which is nicely shaded if you need a break from the hot sun. All in all this place is simply amazing and we will be back. There will be no need for use to look for another "cottage" to rent again.
