2BR/2BA condo close to beach with first floor privacy

Accommodates up to eight people with two large bedrooms with king beds in addition to queen sleeper sofa and queen air mattress for extra guests. The condo has an open floor plan with pass through from kitchen to the dining/living area. A convenient wet bar with built-in glass shelving and cainets allows for entertaining in the main room. Extra living space is provided by a glass-enclosed sunroom off the living room and master bedroom with a beautiful view into a coastal island forest with Spanish moss and native foilage. Privileges to the amenities of Sea Palms Resort is included with your rental, including two golf courses, pools, and tennis courts, as well as restaurant and bar facilities. The master bedroom has a spacious walk-in closet and a seperate dressing area with sink and vanity that adjoins the seperate tub/shower and toilet area. We provide all linens, except for beach towels. Hair dryers are located in each bath. The hall bathroom has a closet with stacked washer and dryer for your convenience. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the convenience of home, including dishwasher, full size refrigerator and electric range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. Generous supply of dishes, glassware, flatware, cooking and serving utensils are also provided. Both baths feature full-size tub/shower combinations with tiled surrounds and floors. Two televisions with full cable service, broadband internet and a wireless printer, and free local and long distance telephone service keep you connected while you are away. We strive to make our 'home away from home' as inviting and comfortable as possible for your family's island beach vacation.

We have lived in the Atlanta area and the North Georgia mountains for all of our twenty three years of married life. We are natives of the Virginia/DC area and North Georgia. We love our North Georgia mountain home, but love to travel and get away.

Why Cathy Cox-Brakefield chose Coastal

We began travelling to the Georgia coast at least once a year for business about fifteen years ago. We love the island ambience and the rich history of the area. St. Simons has an abundance of restaurants and activities without all the traffic and hassle of other beach areas. We found our condo and fell in love after looking at many properties all over the island. We love the golf courses at Sea Palms and just walking in the quiet Sea Palms neighborhood. We can also bike to restaurants or the beach with ease on the island trail system.

What makes this condo unique

While other condos might be a bit closer to the beach, we find that the quiet and privacy of our neighborhood outweighs the proximity. We can easily drive to the beach or the Pier Village (or bike) but can come home to our lovely private home looking out into the trees instead of onto the property next door. The Sea Palms West course is conveniently adjacent to the neighborhood, with a walkable and beautiful nine-hole layout. The Sea Palms Fitness Center, a pool, and tennis courts are just across the parking lot. Just across Frederica Road is the main Sea Palms Resort and Conference Center, where a bar, restaurant, pool, and eighteen-hole golf course are located. The ruins of Fort Fredrica and the beautiful Christ Church are just up the road, for history buffs and explorers. Day trips to the other Georgia Coastal islands are highly recommended, especially Jekyll Island, just a short drive away, where you can visit the Millionaires Cottages built by American tycoons in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century as winter getaways. Jekyll also offers abundant golf on public courses and beautiful public beaches, along with a sea turtle exhibit and a water park. You may never want to leave!

Great place, great location!

The condo was perfect for us. Located close to several great restaurants (Sal's, Brogan's North and Frederica House just to name a few) and easily accessible to to the rest of the island including the beach.

Located in Sea Palms West you are walking distance to one pool and across Frederica Rd is the second pool which offers rentable cabanas, a tiki bar and a restaurant (Public House) which is great.

Highly recommend and would stay here again!

Great Location and very comfortable accomodations

Totally enjoyed my stay here. The kitchen was well equipped and the place was well maintained. All the conveniences of home. Needed to use my computer for some work and the access was fast and reliable. Highly recommended.

A little outdated but great price and very clean.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the five-star review. If "outdated" refers to our traditional tastes, then that is a matter of preference. If it means older, then, yes, this condo was built in 1984, but we have put in new flooring and all new appliances. I am also not sure what the "linens and towels need updating" means either. We regularly supplement supplies with new sheets and towels, but leave others for extra. If it is the price point, then refer to the "affordable price" comment. We don't purchase luxury level goods because we would have to pass that cost on to our guests. These are same furnishings that we use when we are there so we don't put out different stuff for our guests. No other guest has ever mentioned this issue.

Fort Frederica and Christ Church (both heavily influenced by John Wesley, the founder of Methodism) are within minutes of our condo. East Beach is a short drive away with an abudance of sports rentals and excursions both on the ocean side of the island and in the marshes on the inland side. Jekyll Island, the private winter retreat of American's millionaire families such as the Cranes, Goodyears, and Rockefellers, is a short drive away and worth a visit. The view from the bridge to Jekyll of the marshes and islands is spectacular.
