Charming, private, and secluded getaway

  • 5 of 5

This home is charming and secluded, yet convenient to all of the Berkshire attractions—Hancock Shaker Village, Tanglewood, Jiminy Peak, etc. The home is well-kept and the perfect location for star-gazing late at night. Other reviewers have mentioned the post and beam construction means sound carries throughout the house, so that's something to be aware of. The owner is attentive and helpful and (even though she was away on her own vacation) managed to get us a replacement coffee maker within 24 hours when the one in the house stopped working. Thanks for a lovely week!

Brooklyn New York

Getaway with friends

  • 5 of 5

First of all, I would like to thank Sarah for sharing her lovely home. We were 2 couples from Brooklyn looking to enjoy the Berkshire area. The home exceeded all expectations. The details inside the home tells you how much the owner really cares about her property. The antiques throughout the house was a decorator's dream. The location was ideal for traveling back from Williamstown. The home is set back off a main road so traffic noise was nonexistent. The main bedroom has a breathtaking window which looks out into the forest. I feel guilty giving such a great review since I would love to keep this house a secret.

A lovely place !

  • 5 of 5

What a comfortable place for three generations of family to gather! A beautiful setting, private and peaceful. We rented the house for a week to have a base of operations for us and distant family members to attend our granddaughter's first birthday party at my son's home in Averill Park. We enjoyed exploring the Berkshires as well as the NY environs. The house had everything we needed, and Sarah was a pleasure to work with. We hope to rent it again next year.

Son's Graduation at RPI

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week here. Our son graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and wanted a place to spend some time after the graduation and celebrate with family. Loved the house, great location, beautiful surroundings and close to many places and activities. Thank you Sarah for sharing your little piece of heaven in the Berkshires. Would love to plan another family trip here soon!

Comfortable, clean house, good location

  • 5 of 5

The house was a great base of weekend operations; a place we enjoyed returning to after a day of activities. The house has comfortable beds and furniture. There are good inside areas for reading and game playing and enough yard for some football and frisbee. It is clean and as depicted in its listing. The post and beam construction does allow sound to travel through floors a bit more than one might be used to, so great aural privacy should not be expected. We hiked in the Mt Greylock State Reservation, ate in Williamstown, and went to Mass MOCA in North Adams. A good trip with friends was made even more enjoyable through this house and its responsive owners.

Charming Quiet Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house. It was filled with antiques and accessories that gave it lots of charm. The post and beam interior was perfect for the wooded setting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out over the very private yard and lovely gardens. The master bedroom was spacious and the other two were well laid out and had everything they needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this house to someone that liked being away from it all and just relaxing in an off the beaten path location. At the same time we made trips each day to various sites in the Berkshires which were not far away. The owner was very helpful and extremely responsive. We are looking forward to returning.
