This farmhouse is divided in separate living areas. For rental is the ground floor of the house and an additional apartment which has been completely furnished and renovated.
This farmhouse rents two separate units. The first unit is the ground floor of the house which has been completely furnished and renovated. It features kitchen, two double bedrooms with communicating bathrooms, spacious living room and dinning room as well as a smaller living room previous to one of the bedrooms with a confortable double sofa-bed. Sleeps maximum six adults and two children/one baby (two folding beds available and baby cot can be added upon request as well). Includes heating, fireplace and TV.
The second unit is an additional apartment suite with bedroom , plus a covered porch with amazing views and a small kitchenette. A complete bathroom is in the underground accessible by stairs. Sleeps two adults. No children admitted in this unit. Includes heating and fireplace.
These two units can be rented individually. For groups bigger than four persons, please contact us to give you different possibilities.

It is worthwhile visiting the lovely church in the town centre. The landscape is dominated by the Puig de Galatzó which is some 1020 m high. The beautiful landscape is ideal for a variety of sporting activities.

Fabulous rural getaway in the Majorcan mountains
We had a wonderful time at Pilar's converted farmhouse which we used as a relaxing base to explore the island by car. We're a family of four (two girls 11 and 9) and the spacious layout suited us really well.
We tended to get up and away each morning to explore a new cove - the far side of the island is just over an hour away so new beaches were always easy to reach. Coming back to the farmhouse in the late afternoon to enjoy a beer and game of cards on the terrace as the sun set was truly relaxing. And that view . . .
Pilar was a fabulous host. Friendly and informative, helpful and available when we needed it yet unobtrusive for the duration, leaving us to our own devices.
Such a lovely and quiet place. We were there in July, and the only sounds were from insects and the frogs in the pond out front. Pilar was most helpful. Be aware that there is no air conditioning, but since the place in on the ground floor of a massive stone house, it stayed fairly cool.
Perfect stay in a perfect surrounding! Son Hortola was a nice place to stay!
Our one week stay in "Son Hortola" with the nice host Pilar was just perfect. Arriving in this beautiful located finca was the beginning of a perfect time. The 500years old finca is full of history, but perfectly renovated in style. In the colder nights we could sit at the nice fireplace and have a glass of wine, while during the day you can enjoy the sun-terrace with beautiful views to the sea. Located in an olive plantation you can wander around, enjoy the beautiful landscape or just relax in the finca. We did both.
By car it just takes about 20 minutes to the beach, some of the most beatiful roads right in front of the door leaving to the west and north.
The property was totally clean and well-maintained and the listing descripition accurate regarding the location.
Pilar is a very friendly and helpful host, giving a hand whenever she can and showing you around. We will definitely come back!!

A classy and impressive homestead in a splendid lo
Our welcome was as good as the beautifully restored interior. Pilar was always there to hep us with help and answers to our queries. Although clearly an old building and the fact that we were there when nights were still cool/cold, the interior was always snug and warm. We used it as a base for exploring this corner of Mallorca and it was excellent for our varied interests of walking, cycling, good eating and photography.
The views were always gorgeous as were the sunrise and colour of the nearby almond blossom.
It is a fair walk (1.5 K or 1 mile) to the nearby town in which we ate in all three restaurants at various times. If you wish to drive, there are gates to be opened on the long drive (I became the official gate opener for our group!)
In general, our meals were of very good quality and not expensive by UK standards. The completely rural setting is at odds with the standard view of Mallorca only being for beach holidays.
There are facilities for sunbathing and eating on the terrace but during our stay, that wasn't really an option.
Altogether a great base for exploring the many attractions in this beautiful island.

Ideal base for walking and cycling
This unique accommodation in a beautiful setting at the foot of hills provides an ideal base for walking and cycling (road or mtb). It is a big advantage having good restaurants within walking distance. Pilar is always on hand to offer welcome advice and sort out any problems. We cannot wait to return.

A relaxing Christmas break
We had a fantastic holiday at this beautiful old farmhouse over the Christmas period. It proved to be everything it said it was and the owner (Pilar) was a wonderful host. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Pilar - she even went out of her way to find us a kettle so that we (typical English folk) could make ourselves a cup of tea!
We enjoyed sitting in the sun eating breakfast on the terrace - the views over the olive groves out to the sea were awesome and the sound of the birds and the sheep's bells made it a very relaxing place be.
The house was very clean and had everything we could wish for. One of our favourite things about the property was the log fire - we would collect wood from the wood pile in the garden and each evening would sit in front of the cosy fireplace either reading or watching a film on our laptop.
We would definitely recommend this property to those who enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Mallorcan countryside, it's a real gem.

A 18th century farmhouse / Possessió located on 100 hectares of land, situated 1 km from the village of Es Capdella (Calvia), Mallorca. Almond, lemon & centenary olive trees, sheep, chickens offer visitors authentic country living. Palma Airport is a 35 min drive away and a car is essential. Close by (15 min drive) are two sailing ports, Portals and Andraitx. The closest sandy beaches are 20 min drive:Santa Ponsa, Paguera and Portals. There are many other charming bays & rocky beaches nearby as Cala Llamp in Andraitx or Can de Mar. There are many golf courses within a short distance 15-20 min: Real Golf Bendinat, Camp de Mar, Son Vida, Santa Ponsa. Capdella is situated in the interior of the island, in the district of Calvià. A 300€ deposit will be required at the check in order and contract signature to cover damages made to the property For the booking to be valid a deposit of 50% is requested. The deposit should be made within 2 months of booking by bank transfer. The balance is to be at arrival in cash or a week before with a transfer. If you want a full fridge, we can provide it.
