Ideal place to stay
Just returned from a lovely week at the Boat House. It had everything you could want in a holiday home. We were only there a few hours when we decided we would return as it felt homely and comfortable.
Its a 5 minute walk to the beach and into Broadstairs itself.
There were 2 adults and 2 boys aged 8 and 5 and there was plenty of room for all of us.
Plenty of sitting space and dining area. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage space in the bedrooms.
Would definitely return.
Very nice place and very friendly owner!
Centrally located, very nice house with all what we needed for a great family vacation with children.
a cosy retreat
close to shops and beach. lovely sitting area outside. fully fitted kitchen.
fun beach decor throughout the house.
Very comfortable well equiped bungalow.
We enjoyed a wonderful week at the boat house, everything we could have asked for. We did not need to use the car as the beach was in walking distantance and everyday the sun shone.
Home from home very comfortable stay.Pebbles our dog loved the short walk to the lovely sandy beach even in January.Buses at the end of the road, no need to take the car, shops restaurants bars within walking distance of the Boathouse..We enjoyed our stay so much we ended up staying a further five nights.
Fantastic holiday rental
I booked the cottage for a girls weekend to relax and do what girls do best, chat, shop and enjoy a couple of glasses of prosecco. The cottage was clean, cosy and very well equipped we didn't need for anything and Viking bay was literally minutes down the road. We did afternoon tea at Bleak house and enjoyed the fireworks on Viking bay finishing the evening with food and drink in the Charles Dickens pub. Great place for singles, couples and family's!
A stroll around Broadstairs is a journey of discovery with a lovely surprise around every corner. Our most famous resident was Charles Dickens who wrote many of his classic novels here.Walk around the Thanet coastline to explore our beautiful beaches and bays, each with its own character. Broadstairs' main beach is the unspoilt Viking Bay, where you can still see much of Broadstairs' Victorian heritage. Viking bay has a small harbour with cafes and giftshops, with plenty of rockpools for crabbing and exploring. An old fashioned beach funfair and a traditional punch and judy show in the summertime. There are a mouth-watering number of restaurants, bistros, cafes and pubs to choose from. Broadstairs has a vibrant calendar of events ranging from the annual Dickens Festival (June), Water Gala (June) and Folk Week (Aug) to a great free summer entertainment programme. Easily accessible by car, coach, ferry and train from London St Pancras and Victoria Station.
